Confederate Flags and Statues Must be Removed

Liking the flag either makes you a racist, or someone who doesn't know the history of the country or has been taught the watered down history i.e. textbooks in Texas calling slavery "servitude". Stop playing mental gymnastics with yourself. The leaders of the Confederacy made it clear that they were going to war over slavery, this is laid out in black and white writing. The "Declaration of Causes of Seceding States" make it very clear that the war is about the right to own slaves. There is no subjectivity, or "gray area" or "lied history" here. The south went to war over the rights to own and profit from slaves. Stop trying so hard.

    Wilt Chamberlain The GOAT?

My top 3 are comprised of LBJ, KAJ and Jordan, in no particular order. In the All time ranking going on on a different site, I ranked Wilt at 5. IDK. Everyone knows that I don't care too much for championships as long as the players have won at least a couple, but, Wilt is probably the greatest athlete of all time from a physical perspective. And in his era he was worlds apart from the vast majority of his competition... For him to walk away with only 2 championships is... A bit spooky. And the playoff dropoff, and the fact that most of his championships came on the backs of his production decreasing in the playoffs, and finals...

Confederate Flags and Statues Must be Removed

It takes a certain lack of empathy... These people were in support, fought for the right to own slaves, and view them as less then humans. The 13% of the country (black folks) that lives in these regions have to see these statues and hate symbols every day, and are reminded, every day, of what their place was in this country. This in of itself is a form of oppression. If people want this stuff on their property, then by all means, go crazy. But public land, and government property? Really? Literally no one, but a bunch of people full of either hatred, or a distorted view of America would lose sleep if these statues and other symbols are removed. Throw those pieces of trash into museums if people want to study them.

Louisiana passes "Blue Lives Matter" law

For the billionth time, people need to understand that there is an actual organization called Black Lives Matter based on a movement . It's an organization with, real people, real chapters, real laws, and real values, real guiding principles that are laid out in black and white on a site, that any of you can freely visit. That were found by three queer back women and that continues to fight for the equality of blacks through peaceful change (Again, highlighted on their website and all their social media sites). And yea, I support the organization, but they are disorganized, and frankly, very messy when it comes to properly planning gathers, etc. Regardless, this organization sets up hundreds of PEACEFUL protests every year since they have been created, and these are considered *official* protests, that the organization stands behind. In these protests and marches, *peace* is stressed and violence is condemned via official statements by their social medias, etc. Black Lives Matter are not a hate group. Period. This is not, and shouldn't be a point to argue. It's beyond ridiculous, and arguably oppressive in nature especially within the framework of America and the racism embedded in it's DNA to call this group a hate group and compare it to KKK and groups alike. The New Black Panther Party is a hate group, with clear anti-white rhetoric, there's a difference. Then there's #Blacklivematter, which is the greater movement and the hashtag, which was also created by the same three women along with the organization. This is a general phrase used by any and all blacks or people who stand in solidarity with black folks. Just because a black person, or a group of black people come together and yell "black lives matter!", it doesn't mean they are representing the organization, it simply means that they agree with the general premise of the saying, which is that in America, Black lives don't matter as much as whites. It's unfair to the group and all the work they do to blame them for it. Likewise, if an actual protest by BLM is happening and some black guy, or group of black people join the protest and act out, there's no logic behind faulting the organization for it, like they are the ones who asked these people to turn things violent. These people are acting alone and don't represent the principles of the organization. This is no different then the actual religion of Islam, and the deranged people who hijack the religion and use it as an excuse to do messed up things. These people do not represent the faith of Islam, they are psychopaths who strawman a religion to excuse murder. Regardless of whether anything I said actually matters or not, regardless of how violent a protest gets, there's something to be said about the reason why the protest is happening to begin with and pretending as if that's not important is part of the reason why this country has been slow to progress. One group protests and riots because black people are disproportionately targeted by law enforcement and are the victims of a criminal justice system that was created to oppress them. Usually after an unarmed man's life is taken unnecessarily. The other group protests because what? Fake oppression?

    Colin Kaepernick

Yea I saw that on ESPN. Even Kyle freakin Orton, with a 81 career passer rating and hasn't played since 2014 according to ESPN. When you combine that with the Ravens' situation (before Kaep's girl derailed it)... IDK man.

Phill's special power is being able to somehow find ways to continuously revive the topic of "you don't actually know what you think you know"...

    Colin Kaepernick

Yea... I'm actually on Team Kaepernick, and got a good laugh out of his girlfriend's post, but, I think that probably fucked up whatever little chance of seeing him in the NFL this season. He's better then what we have as backups right now in sorry ass Jake Rudock and raw rookie Brad Kaaya, who may not even make the team and end up on practice squad, but it ain't gonna happen. People want to make Kaep out to be the trashiest of trashy QBs when the reality is that that there are various rosters like the Lions with worse QBs at backups. Anyone who simply makes the argument that he's not on a roster because he sucks I think is wrong. But I won't disagree with anyone who says that as a backup he's not worth the headache that will come with signing him in the form of disgruntled fans, or people who take offense to protesting the way he did. Which is pretty unfortunate, and a bit upsetting to think about.

    Official Workout Thread

Reviving this thread cause I'm in an awkward place right now. I'm 5'11 and 220 and in good shape, and hitting the gym three times a week. Only problem is that I only know how to put on weight and lose weight. Is that all there is in this world? Is there a way I can continue to get stronger and at the same time look leaner?? Or is my weight doomed to fluctuate between gains and losses.

Derrick Rose is about to be a Cav. Not a fan of this move by the Cavs, since he can't shoot, which makes him pretty limited in today's league. But we'll see if he actually played a lot better last season then I thought, so this isn't the worst deal of all time.

    The FOOD Thread

I like my meat to be as dark as I am, both inside and out. I also love soul food and chicken. Favorite food of all time is deep dish. Not from Chicago but from Detroit.

Kyrie got tired of all this winning getting in the way of his stats. As long as the Cavs can get a scorer in exchange with Irving, I really don't care about him wanting to get traded. Or both Lebron and Kyrie could leave Cleveland and I can go back to hating them.

Sb i'm all for wasting time having pointless arguments... But anyone who doesn't have Lebron as a top 10 all time is not someone you should be spending time arguing that kinda topic with...

Calvin Johnson Wanted to Leave Lions before Retiring

Yea, I can't speak for every Lions fan, but as long as CJ wasn't a total asshole about it, I would of totally accepted him leaving for a better chance at winning it all.

Calvin Johnson Wanted to Leave Lions before Retiring

To this day it baffles me why some athletes think they owe fans anything beyond playing through their rookie deal. If you don't like it somewhere or feel like you won't win a championship their, you should feel no obligation to stay with that team given the chance, just leave. I love CJ, and tbh, I don't care about all this stuff. As far as the comments about the Lions and losing, everything he said was, and is true. And he really isn't going out of his way to bash the Lions, he just answering questions with honesty. He was only "stuck" here because he chose to sign here, and he was the second most important player on this team, if he was this honest and open about how he felt when he was still here, maybe our office would of tried harder to get him in a situation where he was happy.

All jokes and hyperboles aside, I've been on the BBB bandwagon for a minute now. Despite my love for Lebron, and the fact there's no way that realistically, I hope Ball goes down as the greatest player of all time, or at least in Lakers history. I'd have a BBB shirt already if it wasn't for the fact they cost my whole life savings.

Harden got the richest contract extension in history. Hamilton from Brooklyn was traded to the Raptors for a 1st rd. Pick and DeMarre Carroll. Who might be the worst player in the NBA making 15 million or more. Two Woj bombs for your souls.

TGP still disrespecting Suh despite the fact he continues to be one of the most dominant defensive players in the NFL. Even the hipster PFF has stopped with the disrespect. Shorts was not better then Suh last year. Only stats I can find where Shorts was any better then Suh would be TFLs and stuffs... And in TFL according to sportingchart he only has one more. This despite the fact that outside of Suh and occasionally Phillips, the Dolphins' DTs were absolutely dreadful.

How does OKC close the gap with the warriors more then Houston? OKC hasn't even closed the gap with Houston yet... Houston was the better by far and added the better talent. I get you love to be cynical and all, but, I don't really see how much has changed.
