I think the craziest aspect of the electoral system is the possible juxtapositions. Hillary received 3 million more votes and yet Trump won the election fairly convincingly. It wasn't a landslide (like his win in 2020 will be unless the Dems provide a great candidate) but it was convincingly. That alone should raise eyebrows. The system is broken, not obsolete. Let's fix it, not scrap it. I agree with JD. Electoral votes based on percentage in each state. Round up to the winner, though. No scale where you round down.

Philadelphia just needs to get their OL figured out. They HAVE to know that Seumalo is not the answer, though. Jesus Christ I knew we'd be all over the Wentz the instant I heard that dumb fucker was starting at LG. Much like Minnesota, there's way too much talent in Philadelphia to not expect them to right the ship. That being said, I don't believe this secondary can hold up unless the offense starts scoring again early in the game. This defense doesn't play well without a lead.

Yeah I find it hilarious that people where upset about his demeanor during the hearing. If he had been quiet and unemotional they'd have complained about that, too. Some even claimed he was yelling. Apparently we have redefined what yelling is, folks. Also the puritanical questioning about how much he drank when he was young. Sorry, liberals, but you oppose morality at almost every turn. Can't backpedal now. If you want to know if he ever drank enough to have forgotten some of his actions, just assume he did because most people experience that when young. Such decisions in his teenage years and twenties aren't disqualifying. Obviously we're concerned about what he might have done during those moments. Problem is, without evidence, it's not disqualifying. It's too late now. Hang him from the tallest tree if he misbehaves at any point. If not, hope for a better nominee next time around. Why didn't Trump just nominate Barrett like he wanted to?

Lol. Meltdown indeed.

Wentz, Agholor, Ertz, and Goedert about to spank Mackenzie Alexander, Eric Kendricks, and Anthony Barr. Rhodes should be able to keep Jeffery mostly under wraps, but even he's not playing at his usual level. Not confident at all going into this game for Minnesota. And I don't know if Kirk's going to have a good game either because I doubt he has much time in the pocket.

I care about both because I don't know what happened. Because I have no means of knowing what happened. I wish there was a way to figure out what happened but there's just no way.

I can't imagine what they could have possibly found to be so convincing, but that FBI report must say enough if this is going to go through, now. I wonder if Kavanaugh is actively suing journalists who've referred to him as a sexual predator. Or if he will. He has grounds to if those words referring to him made it into any published pieces. Can't do much about Tweets and opinions, I don't think, but IIRC, he has been called a sexual predator (insert whichever term or language here) in a publication or two. I'm not sure what can be done now to change anything. This boulder seems to be headed downhill. If he is confirmed, the best that we can hope for is that he practices what he preaches about being fair and unbiased (good luck with that). I think Democrats would have done well to have stopped at the two possibly credible allegations, but Swednik's accusation really turned people off because it was so obviously fake. That by itself might have swung this in Kavanaugh's favor. At least to me that's when it seemed more public sentiment favored him (at least where I am. People seemed to be open to Ford's point of view at first).

As long as the government is also funding better materials so our roads last longer, I'm happy. It seems most highway jobs are band aids nowadays.

Looks like the Wild still hope to win while Dubs faces twice as many shots as the other goalie. I mean, I know the guy is amazing but the other 5 guys on the ice have to act like they want to be there, too.

Corey Booker is a moronic firestarter.

One of my good friends is named Trevor. Mariota fucked him, then ghosted him and broke his heart.
-
Holy shit does Corey Davis open up Tennessee's offense. He even makes Mariota look good. Jacksonville in trouble.
-
Yeah, fuck you Buffalo. Can't even make it competitive?

Key observations (I'll try to address both teams): 1. Whatever is wrong with this defense, it's fixable because of talent and depth. I think they're reeling a bit after losing the steadying forces of BRob and Newman. While neither was a great player anymore (BRob really never was, but he was very good), I think the defense would be better with both out there right now. That being said, what this defense will be when the younger, better players get comfortable is very much worth the early bumps and bruises. 2. Tom Compton sucks. Time to put either Jones or Isidora at LG. 3. Kirk Cousins is worth every penny. So far. Every aerial weapon is contributing. I love that he actually targets Treadwell, who has recovered nicely from his drops in Green Bay. 4. I think Adam Thielen torches even a healthy Marcus Peters. Adam Thielen is the best WR in the NFC North by a noticeable margin. Hell, we have the two best WRs in the North. 5. Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks suck right now. 1. I like a lot of what the Rams have as far as starters are concerned, but don't trust their depth at all. This is absolutely a top heavy roster. 2. Jared Goff is a treat to watch. His development under McVay has been stellar. Once Brady and Rodgers are gone, the 2 best QBs in the league will have come from the same draft. 3. Sean Mcvay's next evolution as a head coach will be to change when defenses catch up to his systems. Slight in-game tweaks might have beaten the Falcons in the playoff game last season. Can McVay make those adjustments when they become necessary? I sure think so. 4. Aaron Donald is so good he might be underpaid. He and Kahlil Mack are so dominant their values don't have a ceiling. 5. Kupp, Woods, and Cooks are deadly. If the Rams ever add a real TE threat...oh my God.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000966517/article/vikings-griffen-battling-serious-mentalhealth-issue So this is awful. Hopefully Everson can get the help he needs. This also makes Sunday make sense, imo. If he wasn't allowed back with the team until he underwent an evaluation, his behavior must have been really unsettling. Keep Everson Griffen in your thoughts, folks. He's a well-liked dude both among his coaches and teammates as well as in the community.

Everson Griffen in Hospital for Mental Health Reasons

More and more details are being revealed and, not being a medical professional, it sounds like some sort of schizophrenic episode to me. Holy shit for scary. -
The NFL's new RTP rule is going to hurt the game of football
BwareDWare94 replied to Thanatos's topic in General NFL Talk
Well, the week 1 RTP wasn't arguable. He slammed his helmet into the back of Trubisky's helmet. Classic dirty Clay Matthews play. That's a penalty before this new rule. The other two are dumb. I can kind of see the Alex Smith penalty because he pile drives him into the ground, but Alex Smith had the freaking ball. That should nullify it considering it wasn't an illegal hit otherwise. Obviously the NFL is targeting Clay Matthews. His history of dirty plays and the fact that nobody thinks he didn't use steroids must have something to do with it. Other players haven't been flagged for similar hits this season. -
Sorry, but I certainly don't believe that Brett Kavanaugh attempted to facilitate a gang rape--that one certainly sounds fake, and Stormy Daniels' lawyer isn't exactly known for not using hyperbole. That being said, I'm open to everything else.

Let's hear their accusations. I've heard nothing about 3 other women
-
That she's not even sure which year it was, whose house it was at, and that her therapist's notes have major contradictions to what she's saying now. Under no circumstances could her accusation result in charges in a court of law. There's zero evidence, and no means of gathering evidence. Come on, dude. Bad nomination or not--there's nothing here. Her and him testifying is pointless. A waste of time and money.
-
My issue wasn't with Ford being unverified. I just find her accusation truly unbelievable
-
There is a new accuser from Kavanaugh's time in college. It appears she remembers more specific details about when and where, and who was there. Let's see if anyone will corroborate her story and, if so, let's make sure he isn't confirmed.

Paul Allen was raving about the Packers young corners on his radio show yesterday morning. King, Jackson, and Alexander. He says he likes Jackson best of the three.

Both calls were bad but the one on Clay was obviously worse. These rules suck.
