Bucs/Bears to play regular season game in London
oochymp replied to AllYouNeedIsLovie's topic in General NFL Talk
it's definitely a Bucs home game, I just found a list of their 2011 opponents on Bleacher Report and they play the Bears at home (Link) I still say they need to just take the Pro Bowl abroad, it makes so much more sense than taking a regular season game away from full time NFL fans -
seriously, I can see why Fisher always avoided the elite receivers

I'm just glad Drew Brees lost, putting him on the cover two years in a row would have been kind of annoying I went with Hillis (white RB FTW) and Vick (pissing off PETA is always fun)

Where Did You/Do You Want To Go To College At?
oochymp replied to HadenIsland23's topic in The Sideline
I graduated last May from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA with a double major in Math and American Studies and this fall I'm headed back to W&M for law school -
I got bored in a high school class that involved sitting in front of a computer, so I read a lot of stuff on cbssportsline and pretty soon I started commenting, somebody said something about getting away from the idiots by moving over to NFLXtreme, so I went

I agree that he's not the answer next year, or probably anytime soon, but from everything I hear the guy works his ass off outside of Sundays, so I wouldn't mind if he sticks around for another year to give the coaches a little more time to evaluate him, especially since with the guys we've got on offense we don't need an elite QB, just a quality starter

Which team sport relies the most on individual talent?
oochymp replied to Maverick's topic in The Sideline
I was going to make the same point, in a seven game series your star pitcher will only play in at most 3 games, and that only if he can start the series, so he may be able to take over a game, but in baseball that doesn't really mean that much. As for basketball, it doesn't matter how great of a star you have, he's gotta have a supporting cast, look at Lebron last year in Cleveland, sure he's a superstar, but his teammates just sat back and watched him play, even Jordan needed Pippen and Rodman. As for my answer, I went with Hockey, and maybe I'm just still a little bitter from last year's playoffs, but Jaroslav Halak showed last year how much a hot goalie (not even a great goalie, but a good goalie playing great for a stretch) can take over a series and take a team deep in the playoffs that has no business going deep in the playoffs. If you want another example, I'll go with USA Hockey, there was no reason that team should have gotten to the gold medal game undefeated, but Ryan Miller played out of his mind and carried the team there. Sure, championship teams are usually built on skating, but championship teams are also typically built solid all over, the argument here (as I understand it) is if you take a really bad team and give them one star player in what sport can that one player have the biggest impact, and IMO that's a hockey goalie. -
Even though he did lose his biggest supporter in Fisher, he may have a better shot at playing with Fisher gone. Fisher has always been dedicated to the one back system, which means Stafon's not getting any playing time over Chris. It's hard to know what Munchak is going to do, but I think a second back is far more likely to see the field under him than with Fisher, and now that we've got a returner rb is the only spot he will see the field unless he gets in on kick coverage

Women reporters on the sidelines and in locker rooms. Who else feels they shouldnt be there.
oochymp replied to Wacko4Flacco61's topic in General NFL Talk
yes, the CEO does make company policy, but that company policy must be within government regulations that's a personnel decision based on performance, hardly something you can equate with sexual discrimination, and as has been said NFL owners have to follow rules set forth by both the government and the league office, the only way to get women out of the lockerroom would be to ban all reporters from the lockerroom, as blots suggested, and that might not be a bad idea, but it's a completely different discussion -
if my math is right, this is about the equivalent of putting a team in the Super Bowl because they're leading with about 5 minutes left in the second quarter of their first game, at least, that's about how far into the season they are proportionally

per Razor: This project is a massive undertaking, and a good way to kill time in the off season. The structure of this tournament is simple, we take the best 16 players in each division, and pair them up in a single elimination tournament until only one remains. However, before we even get to that stage, we must run a qualifying round. That is where you come in. If you have the time, open up topics in each division forum that doesn't already have them, and put up topics titled '2011 Best Player in the NFL: Qualifying Round' with the division in the topic description. From there, ask the users to give you their top 6 players for each team in the division. For the full thread, see here: http://www.thegridir...yer-in-the-nfl/ To help you out a bit, I'll post who I think are the top ten for each team (I'll be back with my top 6 later, these are in no particular order) Peyton Manning Dwight Freeney Reggie Wayne Robert Mathis Dallas Clark Jeff Saturday Pierre Garcon Pat Angerer Joseph Addai Melvin Bullit Maurice Jones-Drew Marcedes Lewis Aaron Kampman Greg Jones Derek Cox Daryl Smith Mike Thomas David Garrard Tyson Alualu Vince Manuwai Andre Johnson Matt Schaub Mario Williams Arian Foster Owen Daniels DeMeco Ryans Eric Winston Bernard Pollard Jacoby Jones Duane Brown Chris Johnson Cortland Finnegan Michael Roos Kenny Britt Michael Griffin Marc Mariani Jason Jones Dave Ball Alterraun Verner Jason Babin Just to clarify, your votes are not limited to my top ten, I was just trying to give you some names for anyone completely unfamiliar with the teams, if there's somebody I forgot (or left off) please don't hesitate to put them in your top six (also, make sure you rank your top six as explained in the original thread)

I thought this was interesting, though I don't think it'll do anything more than frustrate gamers

it is kinda the classic debate, remain a monster in the Arena league or sit on the bench in the NFL, unfortunately you make a hell of a lot more as a benchwarmer in the NFL than you can as a star in the AFL, so he probably won't stick around the AFL for long
