The NFL is investigating the San Diego Chargers for the alleged use of "Stickum," a sticky substance that gives teams a competitive advantage when it comes to catching footballs. It's believed some Chargers players used the adhesive in "one or more games" this season. "We are looking into it," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed. In last week's meltdown loss to the Broncos, an official confiscated a sticky substance from a member of the Chargers' equipment staff. The substance is currently being tested by the league offense. "We are aware of the inquiry," the Chargers said in a statement, "and we are cooperating fully with the league."

Bucs placed SLB Quincy Black (neck) on injured reserve, ending his season. Black was hospitalized and suffered complications with his left arm. The injury is not believed to be career-threatening, but the Bucs obviously believed it will be awhile before he returns to form. Black was Tampa Bay's least effective starting linebacker through nine games, playing less than half the snaps of rookie Lavonte David. He will be in the third year of a five-year contract in 2013. Time to step it up, Dekota Watson & Adam Hayward. Hopefully Mason Foster & Lavonte David can take the load off their back.
