What's up with the elite receivers this year?

Andre Johnson has been hit by the dreaded Age virus, to go along with multiple hamstring injuries. He's lost a step. Fitz and Megatron are fine IMO. With Fitz it's his QB/O-Line. With Megatron, he's actually doing pretty good, had a bad game last night, he just doesn't have the TD numbers. Lots of yards, but DET and Stafford specifically rely way too much on going to Megatron even when he's triple covered and it's hurt their offense tremendously.

    Biggest clown team right now?

My Jags are so painfully irrelevant that people don't even remember they're still in the NFL. When they do, all we get is, "When they moving to L.A.?" and, "Tarps!" We need a real GM baaaaad. Carolina just fired theirs and he has by far a better track record than the Jags GM. And his track record is pretty bad, save for those two years competing for the Super Bowl.

    Week 7 Pick Em

12-1 But was WAY off on the Chicago/Detroit score. So someone likely beat me in the tiebreaker.

    Jags by far.

Worst Starting QB from each division?

Now that Chad Henne is going to be a starting QB (Gabbert out for the season with a torn labia—I mean labrum), it's by far Chad Henne as worst starting QB in the league. Did anyone else see that game in Oakland? WOW. If people thought Blaine Gabbert was bad, Chad Henne averaged 7.8 yards... PER DRIVE. Yes, that means each time Henne had the ball, the Jags averaged 7.8 yards per possession. That has to be an NFL record.

    Injury Report Thread

I called Lisfranc as MJD's injury the moment they kept having to re-tape and he had to go into the locker room. That's soft tissue and since he wasn't limping like guys do with Achilles issues, it had to be Lisfranc. It's not confirmed but it's very likely MJD has a Lisfranc injury. He's OUT for the Green Bay game for certain though. Likely will be out 6-8 more games IMO too if it's Lisfranc. At that point, the seasons already over basically, so they might as well IR him if it is what I think it is.

    Black Hippy

I'm trying to figure out the Sample at the beginning of this song. It's so damn familiar it's driving me crazy. I wanna say the same sample was used on an old Lupe Fiasco song. That might be wrong, I can hear the beat in my head too this is killing me. I want to say it's like a rare type song too, in that it wasn't released mainstream like, it was a downloadable leaked song for free or something.

    Black Hippy

I actually heard about Black Hippy before Kendrick, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q and Jay Rock's solo stuff. I thought they were just another Main Attrakionz type group from Cali. I like both though, for different reasons. Lamar's new solo album is pretty good actually.

    Week 7 Pick Em

I knew the favorites would make a comeback this week. The underdogs spit on my grave last week. Absolutely killed me. I was within 4 in my money Pick'em league, and got dropped to 7 back. I'm likely to gain 1 game this week, but that's still only 6. Uggghhh... Steelers gotta win, Bears gotta win, and I gotta make some moves next week to climb back into this. I did so bad to begin the year, picking all reckless. I've been much better since until last week when the underdogs took my balls and made orange juice with them.

    Week 7 Pick Em

10-1 so far. Wanted to pick Titans too, just like last week against Steelers. Ugggh... I'd be perfect for the week too if I did it. Figured after beating Cards in AZ the Bills would at least outscore Tennekey in Buffalo.

    Jags @ Raiders

Jags are gonna screw up and win this game Hopefully the Raiders come back and win it. Because Jags have no chance this year, and need that #1 pick. Look at the Colts. The Jags have gotten top 10 picks but missed on the best players too many years now, we need a superstar. Please lose. I bet MJD has a Lisfranc injury.

    Rookie QB Power Rankings

Never said Luck didn't have anyone to throw to, but he does have less to work with than RGIII. Alfred Morris, 5th in the league in rushing yards. Luck has... Donald Brown? Vick Ballard? Those two are atrocious. Washington isn't just much better at running the ball, they're one of the best running teams in the league. Indy is one of the worst. Running backs are a rookies best friend. One has a good, yet aging, WR. The other has a good young RB. That evens it out IMO. Once Garcon comes back, RGIII has more weapons again. I also say Indy's Offensive Line is worse than Washington's. QBR wise, RGIII is 0.8 points better than Luck, the two are 6th/7th in the league. Very impressive for rookies: http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr

    Rookie QB Power Rankings

No, but if a QB is constantly running, it almost always ends bad, be it injuries, or leaving plays out on the field that could of been bigger plays had he passed out of his run. Ask Steve Young. He didn't win a ring until he stopped trying to play hero ball. Until a running QB wins a ring, I'll continue to hold the QB who runs a lot lower than the QB who makes plays from the pocket first, and scrambles second. I'm not saying that's all RGIII is going to be, he's shown great deep ball accuracy. He's not Mike Vick. Much more of a natural passer than Vick. He just hasn't thrown as deep without Garcon playing. We'll see what happens when Pierre is back. Also, when they get him more weapons in the coming years. Fair point. But again, those are my rankings. Period. Seems like you guys are trying to convince me to change them or something? I've just been more impressed by Luck given what he has to work with, and how bad his team is. Not to mention he has no running game to lean on at all. I expected RGIII to do about what he's doing now. I still have him ranked 2nd. It's not like I have him ranked 4th or 5th or something. I've just been more impressed with what Luck has been able to do. That's my opinion.

    Rookie QB Power Rankings

Yes, to me it does. The thread was asking us our personal Rookie QB Power Rankings. I gave mine, and my reasons. I don't value a QB's rushing stats or rushing TDs, because in the NFL running QBs don't get it done—ever. They also almost always get hurt. RGIII already has one concussion and we're not even half way through his rookie season. If he evolves as a passer, and starts making more impressive throws down the field (he's got the skills and mental to do so), he'll obviously challenge Luck in my power rankings. Mine are based purely on eye test, which is always subjective. It sounds like you disagree with me ranking RGIII lower than Luck, which is fine. But that's what the thread asked, my personal power rankings, and that's what they are.

Yes. But that's running, not passing. We're talking QBs here.

    Next Man Up!

Lewis shouldn't even be considered. They're actually better without him (last year they went 4-0 without him, and coincidentally had 4 of their best defensive performances of the year.) Lewis just needs to become a coach and be real with himself. He'll kill as a coach, perfect motivator. It's still Revis, but after that showing last Sunday, Cushing is right up there. The Packers running on the Texans? Whaaaa?? Could be a one game fluke, we'll see against a good offense with Baltimore, if Rice and Co. are running all over them and the Ravens are eating off the Texans in the flats we'll know Cushing's loss was that much more than we thought prior.

best catch of the year so far + introducing myself

I've hit somebody with my car before... well not actually, but some drunk idiot slammed into the side quarter panel of my car and dented it up before he slid up onto my hood and into my window — breaking one of my windshield wipers. He slid off the car, I looked around shocked (I was going around 13 mph along the only road on the beach with tons of pedestrians, with a speed limit around 10-20 mph depending where you are.) There was a huge crowd of people around as it happened. I had a couple drinks at the bar on the beach, so I'm immediately thinking, "Is this asshole trying to get money off me and sue by slamming into my car?" He got up off the street and jumped up with his hands raised, his friends cheered, I looked around and people were looking at me and I immediately thought, "Yeah, fuck this, he planned that shit, Seacrest, Out." I booked it. No way I'm letting some drunk idiot sue me for some bullshit he pulled, let alone get a DUI because of it. I wasn't drunk either but I had 2-3 drinks so I'm not sure what the breathalyzer would of said but I wasn't chancing it. Fuck that guy.

    Rookie QB Power Rankings

Yeah, I'm judging with the quality of team they're playing with too. It's not just based on stats, individual performance also weighted with how much help they get from their team is also considered. Not just offense too, I'm looking at how much their defenses help them out via short fields, etc. Just my opinion. Wilson has the most help of all the rookies, I'd put RGIII next, then it's really close between Weeden, Tannehill, and Luck. Tannehill has Miami's D, Bush is solid if inconsistent. Weeden has T-Rich, but not much else, Luck has Wayne, not much else considering Mathis and Freeney been hurt all year. RGIII is the best statistically though, there's no denying that. I only see 9 passes that have traveled more than 20 yards though. A lot of first read throws. Which, for a rookie is normal. But I'm not all the way on the hype train like most folks with RGIII. Great kid though, good for the NFL. EDIT: from an Insider article on ESPN, here's what I was talking about with RGIII/Luck and the difficulty of their throws: Again though, sometimes dink and dunking is the right move. Tom Brady has done this at times in his career and been successful. Chad Pennington stayed in the NFL, and made it to the NFL period doing this, but his was because of a weak arm obviously, RGIII has a cannon. That's the reason I rank Luck ahead of RGIII, he's impressed me the most because of how he's making these difficult throws, and making these big plays through the air, with one of the worst offensive lines in the league (its nearly impossible to attack downfield with a bad O-Line but somehow Luck is doing it.) RGIII is getting a lot of help after the catch, which is fine, but not as impressive to me. His O-Line isn't that great either, but he's not attacking down the field like Luck is. This is why I ranked the two the way I did.

I don't wear any, nor do I wear deodorant. I shower with But that's all I do.
