The Mock of Mocks... MackAttack Style

After paying both Robert Alford (Who is greatly talented, but a little too handsy) and Desmond Trufant, I can't see the Falcons going DB here. Especially with how well both Jalen Collins and Brian Poole played for them when Trufant went down. If I was a betting man, I'd be willing to say that they likely go after another linebacker or an offensive guard. Despite what the O-Line looked like for Ryan, they are pretty thin. Same goes for linebacker.

Matt Ryan is climbing to the next level

Pretty good read. Obviously he had a terrible game against the Raiders a couple weeks ago which everyone was up in arms about, but he's going to be just fine. I loved the fact that when he was asked about what his Halloween plans were he said "my plans are to sit and watch Tony Romo and the Cowboys on film". That's awesome. That's a guy who's dedicated to winning, it's just another reason why he draws comparisons by some people to Peyton Manning. It seems like he's prepared to do anything he needs to do just to make sure the Falcons don't falter again this year. MVP? Who cares. Undefeated? Who cares. That's his stance. You can't not love that.

    Award Predictions

MVP: Ben Roethlisberger I'm going to shy away from the Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilsons. I really thought about Brady here, but who knows if he'll play 16 games at this point with the entire deflate gate thing going on. Let's say that Roethlisberger stays healthy. He has the best receiver in the league for one and his other options aren't too shabby either. He's got LeVeon Bell to take the heat off the passing game. The Steelers can take the AFC North. If Roethlisberger can stay healthy for all 16, I think he's going to blow up the passing boards. Call it a gut feeling I guess. OPOTY: Todd Gurley Kid is about the set the league on fire. Everyone saw what he did last season, wait until this season. The Rams have a rookie quarterback they are going to have to take the pressure off. Todd Gurley is going to get one hell of a huge work load I think. This is just a product of me believing that the Rams are going to be serious contenders week in and week out this coming season and they are going to use Gurley to control every single game. DPOTY: Khalil Mack JJ Watt was in my thoughts here. And honestly maybe he's the right choice. Khalil Mack was a monster last season, and that's why I chose him. Another season under his belt, this guy can do everything from what he's shown us. I think he takes an even bigger step forward and dominates the league this year. Kudos to the Raiders coaches too, they know how to use him correctly. OROTY: Ezekiel Elliot Come on, this one is a no brainer. The amount of work this kid is going to get is going to be ridiculous. The Cowboys are going to want to recapture the success they had with DeMarco Murray, and they are going to get it. Maybe not to the extent of Murray, but decent enough to lead his team to a few wins and well over 1100 yards. DROTY: Keanu Neal There had to be a homer pick somewhere right? I like Neals instincts, I like his ability to make plays. He can make mistakes but all rookies will. This one for me came down to Neal and Nkemdiche. Neal is coming in to the Falcons as the starting safety with no one really to compete imo. Also, he's going to bring that force for Dan Quinn that he enjoyed with Kam Chancellor. I'm not saying he's going to see the same success, but I do think that Neal will be the most productive rookie this year. COTY: Jeff Fisher I just think that the Rams are due. The move to LA doesn't have anything to do with it either. They just drafted a quarterback, they have a monster running back. The defense is one of the best in the league IMO. Perhaps this is the year they turn it around. I think they get into the playoffs this year and I also think that they do it without question marks as to how it happened. Which means, I'm definitely expecting 11 wins. Then again, I'm crazy, and this is a leap of faith.

Madden League Logo Request (willing to push some cash your way)

Totally slipped my mind but we'd also be interested in a "Legends Premier League Friday Night Tailgate" logo for our league podcast radio show. Again, I'm aware this is basically four projects in one. I'm willing to pay via PayPal to whoever does this!
  5. Hey guys. I run a 28-32 man Madden league on XB1 and I'm trying to get some logos made up for our leagues Super Bowl Championship prize which I need a couple of logos for. I'm willing to throw some cash your way if that's what it takes, just private message me and we can talk price. Basically what I need is a "Legends Premier League Super Bowl Champion" logo, a basic "Legends Premier League Super Bowl" logo, and a "Legends Premier League Playoffs" logo. I have our league logo already, beneath is a picture view of it: And the PSD file to the logo is here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz3MMmPfpZ_vNkJRVmVadlNMV00/view?usp=sharing If anyone is interested in doing this project, let me know. It's pretty open to creativity I suppose. The Super Bowl Champion logo is most likely going to end up on the back of a hooded pull over that I'm going to purchase and send to the winners for free, so we're looking for something that looks official and unique to our league.

    That's it--I'm Done With Bridgewater

I've never quite understood the gloves at all. Most quarterbacks always say how the gloves present problems to throwing the football. Yet there are a select few that wear them. Those few have accuracy issues.

    Carolina Panthers 2015 Season Thread

Cam Newton is without a doubt the best quarterback in the NFL. No doubt about it anymor IMO. Now that he has put his entire arsenal together I'm not sure there is any defense that can stop the offense. You can't defend a guy the size of a lineman that can run like Jerome Bettis and pass like Dan Marino in his prime. Newton has been doing everything right. It's unbelievable how he's responded to the problems he had last season. Panthers fans are going to be very lucky to be able to watch Cam for years. Very lucky.

    Panthers @ Falcons

After a long hiatus from TGP, I'm glad to be back in time to watch my Falcons possibly get destroyed in the second half. So far so good. IF they can somehow pull out a win here, their season is not a complete loss. Showing a little fight.

    Matt Ryan is overwhelmed

It hasn't anything to do with Matt Ryans football smarts. Here's the thing, the Falcons offensive line isn't built for zone blocking to start with. It's a mix and match of bullshit parts and components. It all starts there. In the first 5 games, Ryan was getting great protection and was able to make reads. After that Ryan has been under enormous pressure for whatever reasons. I'm not a football expert, but I believe that must have something to do with the fact that no one on our line fits the zone blocking scheme according to past successful lines in the scheme. Now, we can couple that with terrible playcalling. Shannahan is dead set on just feeding the ball to Julio JOnes. It makes sense to everyone on account of him being the best player we have, but it doesn't make sense in the football world. Teams are throwing double and triple coverage on Julio, yet for some reason he remains the hot read on EVERY down. So now he's the hot read every pass play and double/triple covered, and you're under pressure... This was a disaster waiting to happen, and now is the largest problem with the offense. Despite that, the Falcons have been able to move the ball down field and into the red zone efficiently enough to be somewhere in the 5-10 range in terms of total offense. How, I have no clue. So, lets go into the red zone play calling. Obviously, you think that Shannahan would continue his Julio Jones insanity into the deep portions of the red zone right? Wrong. He hasn't, not because he doesn't want to, but because he simply can not. Go back to being double and triple covered. The space to work shrinks immensely, we all know that. So what happens when you have one of the best in the league, you throw to him right? No. You can't. That would be dumb. Matt Ryan has openly said that there have been playcalls for Jones in the end zone, but the looks aren't there even when he's the hot read. That's just common sense quarter backing. YOu don't throw to a guy covered like that in the end zone. Your chances of completing a pass deteriorate immensely. Ryan is making the right choices by not giving him the ball in those situations. Where it's backfiring then is when Ryan thinks he has to make a play on his own. Either running and trying to throw over defenders, or throwing to guys like Roddy White and Jacob Tammy while their blanketed. See, everyone knows that once you take Julio out of the game in the red zone, Matt Ryan will panic under pressure and try to make something happen. That's where Matt Ryan and his noodle arm come in. He just doesn't have a strong arm. At least, in my opinion, he hasn't this year. Against the Giants, Matt Ryan took a hard hit from one of the linebackers, I don't know which, but ever since it looks like he's been throwing ducks out there. Peyton Manning style ducks. I know the injury story and excuses get old, but I really do think that when he went down and stumbled to get up, he was hurt. He's never been known to have a very strong arm, but what we've seen since that game has been abysmal. Pathetic in fact. I'm a huge Matt Ryan fan and I don't think this is all on him. I will say though, it IS on him to get back to where he was before next season. If not, something has to be done with him. To those saying "I thought Shannhans ZBS was supposed to be quarterback friendly", sure. Usually is the case. But in the case of Shannahan, seriously look at the record. Shannahan has been quarterbacks worse nightmare whenever he enters town. He has destroyed nearly every single offense he has been injected into, like a damn poison. And what he lacks in destruction with playcalling, he makes up for with his snake like comments to the media. The problem is, he wants to be his father. He isn't. In fact, looking at the guys track record, he's been riding off his fathers name since the very beginning of his time in the NFL. Dan Quinn personally selected Shannahan, and he did it off recognition. Not off of field track record. It was a disaster waiting to happen. All was well when the Falcons' lame duck defense and offensive lines were over achieving and playing above their true talent. Once other teams figured their weaknesses and have been using it against them, it's been down hill. The Falcons defense is terrible outside of 4 players, the Falcons offense is terrible outside of 3 players. It just wasn't going to happen in one season.

    Waiver Wire Wonders

Hey guys, I've got a cheap ($50-100 entry) 12 team fantasy league starting up. Looking for owners who are interested in playing multiple years, and who aren't flaky. Scoring: -Looking toward a late August draft at this point. -Deadline for entry fee is more than likely going to be set for one week prior to the draft. (To ensure if someone flakes out, I can fill the spot) -I'll be utilizing www.leaguesafe.com to ensure that I'm not handling the payments directly and I haven't got any direct knowledge of anyones personal information. I know a lot of you guys play fantasy football, so I figured I would extend the invitations here. Basically all I need is your email address at this point to send a league invite.

Had two guys unable return to the league this season. If anyone is interested, we now have both those spots available. Same scoring as last season, just with RB touchdowns even with all others at 4 points. $50 buy in. Same payouts.

Update: Panthers give Cam Newton 5-year, 103.8M extension

It pains me to say this as a fan of the Falcons, but Cam is a great quarterback. He's got his issues, but it's nothing that isn't correctable with some extra attention spent to them. Great deal for him, I'm 50/50 on whether or not it's a good deal for the team. There's been word flying around Carolina that this is a "make or break" year for Cam. I'm not sure what the front office is really doing if they truly feel that way, as people in the organization are the ones who let that out. I guess it goes to show how much leverage the quarterback has in a pass first league these days. I just wonder if Carolina really feels that way and they are going to be willing to eat the cap down the road, or if they feel he's the franchise guy at this point and their going to ride out his career. You look at the scale, I think he was paid right where he needs to be though.

    Atlanta Falcons: Turning the corner

After two back to back disappointing seasons, something had to give. Mike Smith was showing signs of extreme complacency. Smith never had that go for the throat mentality, I'm not sure he ever will. After bringing the Falcons franchise back to relevancy though, many felt he was owed something - as if he could once again turn the franchise around. It was time for change though. Out with the old, in with the new. I, like many Falcons fans, am hugely excited with the possibilities of what Dan Quinn could very well bring to this team. The Offense With Kyle Shanahann joining Dan Quinns staff as the offensive coordinator, I expect this offense to be more efficient than we've seen in the past. Our past offensive schemes relied on running the football down the throat of opposing defenses and fooling the defenses with crossing route combinations in the air. As we all found out the past two seasons, running the football was not our strong suit. The Falcons often times failed to fool defenses, resulting in questionable interceptions, receivers running into each other like something you'd see in a AFV TV show, or the defenses just simply not being fooled at all. Shanahann knows how to stretch the football field, and that's by making sure the running game can move the football efficiently utilizing a zone blocking scheme. Through the Air: I think it's fair to say that barring any injury, we can expect Julio Jones to absolutely explode in this offense. Shanahann has made solid receivers look absolutely fantastic in the past. As many have already stated when Shanahann was first brought in, you can compare Julio Jones to Andre Johnson in this offense. The argument will obviously be made which receiver is more explosive, but let's not get into that here. Roddy White is going to play the safe and reliable option in this offense, but I don't think we need to expect anything less than 900 yards out of him as he hasn't seemed to have lost a step when healthy. It's also a very safe assumption, alright - a given - that Matt Ryan is easily the best quarterback Shanahann has had to work with to this point. I don't think there are any question marks on how Ryan will pick up this offense. By all accounts, this offense has every opportunity to be one of the best in the league through the air. One thing that everyone can attest to is that while Ryan is a great quarterback, there were times last season where he tried to put the game on his shoulders and showed a lot of inaccuracy in his play as a whole. This has to be improved on, or the Falcons could find themselves losing many close games once again. (This will also tie in with the defensive portion) There's a solid line of depth at the wide receiver position. Last season, the Falcons found a lot of different ways to utilize Devin Hesters speed and shiftiness and get him involved in the passing game. Unfortunately, what the Falcons also found with that was that he isn't a reliable option at receiver. He makes a lot of drops, and he often isn't where Matt Ryan has planned him to be. Knowing this, the Falcons did two things. The first is the signing of Leonard Hankerson. I actually like this signing. Hankerson, if nothing else, is a guy who knows Shanahanns system. He'll be useful on the practice field to the guys who are taking this offense in. He's obviously just depth at this point, but it's a good look. I believe Hankerson will be filtered in and see 30-45 catches this season pending how well he has recovered from his knee injury. The next move, it's a move to absolutely love. After last season, the Falcons decided it was time to part with slot receiver Harry Douglas. Although he made his fair share of drops that cost us quite a few games, he was a crucial cog to this offense. He took pressure off both Roddy and Julio with his speed and ability to make guys miss after the catch. The Falcons instead went another direction and took Justin Hardy in the fourth round of the draft. Hardy brings solid route running and sure hands to the Falcons slot receiver position. Adding Hardy to the mix should ease the loss of Douglas in the passing game. The tight end position leaves a lot to be desired. Levine Toilolo, a true monster TE standing at 6'7, hasn't developed into the pass catcher the Falcons hoped. What's worse is that he's not exactly a guy you want to block for you either. Bringing in Jacob Tamme and Tony Moeaki was a start, but I still don't feel confident in our group of tight ends when it comes to moving the sticks. Pounding the Rock: Shanahann has done wonders with average running backs in the past. In fact, he's turned guys who otherwise wouldn't have been given shots in the NFL into absolute stars at the games highest level. His zone blocking scheme will do wonders for an offensive line that ranked near the bottom of the league in run blocking, often times giving our running backs no opportunities to see the plus side of the line of scrimmage. Despite the raving about Devonta Freeman looking like a guy who could take the top spot, and Antone Smith showing a lot of explosiveness last season, the Falcons went out and drafted Tevin Coleman - a one cut bowling ball - in the 3rd round this year. Coleman is figuring to be the starting running back in a scheme that he should do extremely well for himself in. The bottom line in the run game though is that I'm not actually sure we have the correct personnel in the trenches to utilize the zone blocking scheme. Also make it noted that the Falcons let go long time left guard Justin Blalock who has been a staple on our line for a while now. While he was a big body that probably couldn't swing like the offense needed him to, I'm not sure anyone else on the roster will be able to fill that role. Perhaps Shanahann slides Sam Baker over to left guard? Who knows. The Falcons have a lot of work to do with the offensive line, and it all starts there. The Verdict: Expect big things out of the passing game this year, but don't expect this offense to replicate what we've seen out of the run games Shanahann has put in place in the past. The Falcons just don't have the talent among the offensive line to perform to those standards. The Defense Defensive coordinator Richard Smith has been in the NFL for a long time, 27 years to be exact. That's a lot of experience to work with and experience is something that's absolutely invaluable in any sports league. Smith has a lot of work to do with this defense, as they ranked last in nearly every category you can think of. While Smith is the defensive coordinator, I think Dan Quinn will have his hands dug in deep with the defense. Together, they should be able to put together a somewhat efficient 4-3 under that works more like a 5-2 defense (Like what Seattle had last year). Obviously, the talent level is far from what it was when he had the likes of Earl Thomas, Bobby Wagner and Michael Bennett at the three stages of the defense. Either way anyone wants to look at the Falcons, the most positive way to think is that the only way to go is up in terms of production. The defense is going to rely heavily the ability to stop the run in nickel looks, which means only 3 big bodies with their hands in the dirt. Which makes the additions the Falcons made in the off-season even more so important to this defense. An excitable talent that was added in the draft is Grady Jarrett. One of the top defensive tackles in college football a short time ago, Jarrett saw his stock fall all the way to the 5th round because of his height. We've seen guys' stock fall due to height before and they've continued on their trail of success, this could very well be the case with Jarrett. The Falcons went out and brought in both Justin Durant and Brooks Reed to add some speed and run stopping ability to the linebacker core. The next move is one that will either pay huge dividends or be a move where the Falcons can cut their losses on a 1 year deal - Adrian Clayborn. The Clayborn addition is something I really love. While he's had trouble staying healthy and some even question how well he's transitioned to the pro game, when he's been healthy he has provided a solid amount of pressure to opposing offenses - something that the Falcons have absolutely missed since losing John Abraham a couple seasons ago. The Addition of Vic Beasley provides the Falcons with a strong pass rusher and play maker at the LEO position that Dan Quinn loves to utilize. Going anywhere else with their first round draft pick could have spelled disaster, but the Falcons went the safe route, and hope to have hit on a sack artist. Moving to the back end of the defense, we have some solid pieces at cornerback. Desmond Trufant has the looks of a guy who is on the verge of being one of the top corners in the league as he has shown improvement every time he's hit the field. Our #2 and #3 spots are where it gets dicey. Robert Alford and Jalen Collins will more than likely be in a tight battle for that #2 position as camps get underway. Both with a lot of raw athleticism and needing work on their technique, Collins may have the upper hand in the battle despite being a rookie. Collins has a lot of potential that can be groomed simply by getting him on the field. The safety position is a question mark as well. William Moore is the lock at strong safety, and it was thought that Dezmen Southward would be the starting free safety. This past week though, the coaching staff announced that Southward would be moving to cornerback for the upcoming season. Perhaps Kemal Ishmael, after flashing some serious playmaking ability last year filling in for Moore, will slide over to free safety and take the starting role there? Some have even questioned if maybe Jalen Collins could be tried at free safety with the athleticism he possesses and perhaps Quinn is trying to find a guy that can cover ground much like Earl Thomas in Seattle. (Not comparing, just trying to find a median). Either way you look at it, the free safety position may be a fun spot to watch, it's anyones guess right now. The Verdict: The Falcons defense may not show immediate improvements when the season begins, but I think by mid-season, they could be a top 15 unit. There is some talent on the drawing board, the coaching is going to have to take the forefront to get this unit up to speed. Projected Depth Chart following the draft: Offense: QB: Ryan | Yates | Renfree RBF: Coleman | Freeman | J. Smith RBC: A. Smith FB: DiMarco | Mooney WRX: Jones | Hankerson | Williams WRZ: White | Hester | Martino WRS: Hardy | Weems | Reedy TE: Tamme | Toilolo | Moeaki | Shuler RT: Schraeder | Holmes | Rodgers RG: Asamoah | Gunn | J. Smith C: Stone | Hawley | Konz LG: Baker | Person LT: Matthews | Baker Defense: LEO: Beasley | Biermann | Maponga LDE: Clayborn | Matthews | Goodman LDT/NT: Soliai | Babineaux | Jarrett RDT: Hageman | Jackson SAM: Reed | Shembo | Schofield WILL: Durant | Bartu | Spruill MIKE: Worrilow | Stupar | Bradford SS: Moore | Baker FS: Ishmael | Godfrey | King LCB: Trufant | Adams RCB: Alford | Southward | King NCB: Collins | Southward | King LS: Harris P: Bosher K: Bryant KR/PR: Hester | Weems The Falcons have a fresh feel and look to them as 2015 season approaches. The players are already starting to buy into Dan Quinn as the leader of this team, and they've added a lot of talent. For the first time in years, the Falcons seem to have hit a home run on the draft as a whole, if everything pans out, this could be a big turn around year for them. I feel like the Falcons have a chance to hit the 11-5 mark again if they can ease the growing pains on the offensive line, and work out any bugs the defense may have as the season begins.

Update: Dolphins sign RyanTannehill to extension

Tannehill has shown that he's capable of doing everything that they've asked of him in the offense up to this point. They rarely look for the big plays, I mean, they don't really take shots down field. So he hasn't been asked to do those types of things. He's been on point for what they've asked. How can you expect anything else? I'll be interested to see what he can do with the weapons he may actually have this year. Jarvis Landry looked great down the stretch last season. Greg Jennings is a guy who can consistently move the sticks, they added Kenny Stills who's shown flashes of good things when he was with the Saints. That's all without mentioning that they added Devante Parker in the draft, my personal favorite guy in this class of WR. I think they've got the makings of good things. Getting Tannehill locked up is going to do him well, he's going into this season with a bunch of new weapons and he's going to have a clear head all while doing so.

It's not that were tired of Goodell being soft imo. It's that were tired of Goodell going light on REAL crimes and hard on others with no proof at hand. The only outcome I see here in the next year or two is Goodell stepping down. Something needs to give

Who's at risk after the draft?

The Falcons really had a grand slam of a draft this year. With Mike Smith at the head coach position, we seemed to go with the "safe" picks, over the best players available or the biggest need. This year, with Quinn and Dimitroff calling the shots together, it seemed like they were going for getting the best player available talent wise, and dealing with some off field issues or question marks later. I think it's really going to work out. Anyway, here's my list: CB Robert Alford - The drafting of Jalen Collins in the second round was a bit of a surprise to myself. The Falcons front office has been really high on Alford since drafting him. He's shown a ton of talent, albeit raw, there is talent there none the less. He's been considered the starter across from Trufant for about a season and a half now and has been improving since his first field time consistently. Collins looks to be a guy that is in about the same boat as Alford was entering the NFL. Raw. But he's got a lot more talent and he has more of a skill set to be a corner on the outside. I think that it's very possible Collins comes into camp this year and challenges Alford, possibly stealing that outside role from him. DT Jonathan Babineaux - Babs has been a consistent starter for the Falcons for years now, but he's heading toward the end years of his career. The Falcons selected Grady Jarrett in the 5th round, everyone is projecting him as the steal of the draft. Jarrett fell because of concerns with his height, much like Babineaux when he was drafted. Jarrett could very well be one of the top DL in the draft though if he continues to dominate the LOS like he did for Clemson. I really think that Jarrett, while starting out the season as arole player, could take that tackle spot from Babs as the season progresses. WR Devin Hester - This might be a weird one to put here, but I think Hester is at risk of losing his time as a receiver with the team. He'll no doubt remain our primary kick return man though. Justin Hardy should be able to fill the role of Harry Douglas and then some. He's quick and adds a great route running skill set along with some sure hands to the position - something that Hester lacked for us. Hester was given many opportunities last season, but drops seemed to torment him and keep him from really getting anywhere for us. I view Hardy as a guy that roles onto the field as the slot receiver every time we go three wide. Hester will really need to bring his A-game if he wants to continuing seeing the field as a receiver. LB Paul Worrilow - WAR was great for us the past two seasons at getting to the football and making some big stops when we needed them. He wasn't very good when the opposing teams decided to pass the football though. Now there is talk of Durant, brought in this off season, moving inside and getting a few pure pass rushers on the outside. Hence, the Vic Beasley drafting. There's a lot of talk out in flowery branch already about seeing a Beasley-Durant-Reed-Schofield linebacker core on the field in 3-4 looks, with a Beasley-Durant-Reed front in 4-3. Worrilow needs to once again show major improvement as camps open up, much like he had last season. No doubt he's one of the best stories the Falcons have had for a few years now, but he needs to improve more to hold his spot and keep himself from becoming depth.

    Patriots Accused Of Deflating Footballs

See, I don't think the penalty was that far on the too harsh side... If, that is, they had substantial and proof without a doubt that he was involved in telling the ball boys he wanted the balls deflated below the legal psi. That's the thing. They don't. I understand this is a sport league and not a court of law, but do you think someone could be convicted in a real court with the type of burden of proof that the NFL currently holds over Tom Brady? In terms of having nothing saying he did it and nothing saying he didn't, this is as 50/50 as it gets in my opinion. There's nothing proving either side right. Which is why there should be no suspension here. Further, let's discuss Goodell sitting over and judging this appeal process. How is this right? It's not. I fully agree with the NFL Players Association on this one. A man who is involved in the case as a material witness or involved in the case as the man who gave the original punishment can't preside over an appeal. If that's the case, there is basically no way that Tom Brady and the Patriots can even come close to winning this appeal. It's just not right. Get an outside source, like we've seen on numerous other accounts with the NFL and their appeals process, to rule this situation. Right now, Roger Goodell is trying to strong arm the NFLPA into acting as the "bad guy" for this case. I fully believe this is just an attempt for Goodell and his close personnel to regain their public figure.

    Patriots Accused Of Deflating Footballs

This entire situation bothers the sports portion of my brain immensely. There are so many problems with the punishment that Tom Brady received, and the punishment that the Patriots as a team received. At least in the way I look at it. I understand that the NFL paid millions to have this investigated and to have a report released on the matter and that Wells can discuss and formulate any sort of opinion in his own report that he so wishes, but it as a whole it was a complete wash. What we know is that there were text messages sent among two staff members of the New England Patriots that had the ability to control the pressure in the footballs and had the means and opportunity to make such changes to the footballs prior to the game, despite the fact that if the NFL officials were doing their job fully and efficiently, this opportunity never should have taken place. We know that the two employees were talking about Tom Brady. We know that one of the employees had discussions with Tom Brady on several occasions leading up to the issue. What we don't know is the context of those specific conversations. What was being said by Brady, how what was being said was actually taken as to the context of what it actually was to mean. What we don't know is any bit of portion of Tom Bradys side of the argument. Brady decided not to help the NFL investigate. Do you blame him? How many times have we now seen the NFL and reporters take the context of something and fix it how they so chose just to make themselves seem right? Brady had no real reason to help them with their investigation. What bothers me even more so is how wishy washy this report is. The report in a round about way basically states, "I, Ted Wells, have found no real evidence that Tom Brady did have the Patriots employees lower the air pressure in the footballs, but I have no real evidence that says he didn't either. Therefore, he's guilty." It makes no sense, none. This report had nothing to do with finding him guilty or not guilty of this though, we all knew that going in, which is the dumbest part of everything. Goodell and his employees are trying to renew their "tough" approach after being smashed the past year and a half over serious punishment issues in the NFL. Everyone knew they were going to slam the first offenders they could, this is it. But did they really get it right? To punish a player with no real proof of doing bad? Come on NFL....

    Marshawn Lynch Announces Retirement

Now is this an extension on his current contract so it would run THROUGH the 2016 season? Or is this a new contract for this coming season? At any rate, it's great for the Seahawks that Lynch is returning. I'm probably one of the few that really believes that the Seahawks are a team with no offensive identity without Lynch in the backfield. I like what I had seen from Michael in his college days, and I think that Turbin is also a real good back-up. But I'm not sure either one of them can carry an offense like Lynch does when he's called on, and that happens pretty frequently where the Seahawks need to have Lynch put them on his back.

    Panthers bring in Michael Oher

I almost wonder if sliding over to guard would better suit him. From everything I have read about Oher, his biggest problem is his footwork and his inability to keep guys from getting around the outside of him. Why not slide him to guard where he can utilize his strength and just concentrate on keeping bigger guys in front of him? I'm not football analyst but if a guy has played like garbage, it won't hurt to move him around.
