Update: Browns match Jags offer sheet to Alex Mack
Flynnatic10 replied to ATL_Predator's topic in AFC
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Jaguars will sign transition-tagged C Alex Mack to a five-year offer sheet by Friday. Per Schefter, Mack badly wants to play the five-year contract with the Jaguars and doesn't want to return to Cleveland. Mack's agent and the Jaguars will structure the deal in a way that will make it as difficult as possible for the Browns to match it, even though Cleveland has a boat load of cap space and a desire to retain arguably the game's best center. Once the deal is signed, the Browns will have five days to make a decision. Mack is 28 years old. Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter Apr 9 - 4:20 PM ROTOWORLD Jags have had a pretty good offseason so far. If they take a QB at 3, they would have had an even better offseason -

https://twitter.com/JayGlazer/status/452256579882999808 I'm guessing he's only wants in until Peyton retires, then maybe an extra year to think whether or not he wants to coach a team with Brock Osweiler projected to be Manning's successor.

If he can get his act together off the field, he can really be a solid weapon for EJ Manuel next to Stevie Johnson. Maybe him being at home will fix his act. I like it, it's a low risk situation. If he causes problems off the field we can cut him and that's the end of it.

Redskins agreed to terms with FS Ryan Clark, formerly of the Steelers, on a one-year contract. Clark, 34, visited the Redskins the opening week of free agency but reportedly had too high an asking price at the time. He predictably didn't have much of a market. Clark can still be serviceable at deep safety and has three consecutive 100-tackle seasons but isn't a game changer. He'll try and help shore up the back end of a defense that gave up far too many big plays in 2013. Related: Steelers Source: Chris Russell on Twitter Mar 31 - 6:12 PM

Raiders signed CB Carlos Rogers, formerly of the 49ers. Rogers, 33 in July, was released by the 49ers three weeks ago. His visit to Oakland on Monday was his only one. Rogers can still play as a slot corner who can defend the run a bit and will fill that role for the Silver and Black. Tarell Brown and D.J. Hayden will serve as the outside corners. The Raiders are loading up on aging veterans in an attempt to compete in the tough AFC West in 2014. Related: 49ers Source: Vic Tafur on Twitter Mar 31 - 8:38 PM

According to the police report, Culliver hit a bicyclist early Friday morning and fled the scene. Culliver is currently being charged with felony reckless driving causing an injury, felony possession of brass knuckles, and a misdemeanor hit-and-run for the striking the vehicle. The 49ers have released a statement and are aware of the incident. Culliver will be subject to the NFL's personal conduct policy and could be facing a suspension. Source: KTVU.com Mar 28 - 7:11 PM -

Texans trade Matt Schaub to Raiders for 6th round pick
Flynnatic10 replied to BLUE's topic in General NFL Talk
Schaub restructured his contract Matt Schaub has agreed to a restructured contract with the Raiders that will pay him $15-20 million over the next two seasons. Schaub's old deal would've paid out $24.5 million over 2014 and 2015. The fine print isn't in on Schaub's new contract, but ESPN's Adam Schefter reports it will lower his base salary and salary cap number for 2014. The Raiders now have Jake Delhomme Schaub signed for at least his age-33 and 34 seasons. Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter Mar 23 - 8:59 PM ROTOWORLD -

https://twitter.com/MMehtaNYDN/status/447392786074304512 CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Seahawks and 49ers are "among the teams" showing interest in DeSean Jackson. La Canfora confirms Philly has "stepped up efforts" to deal Jackson, "shopping him to several teams." La Canfora also reports "several" NFL general managers expect the Eagles to ultimately release D-Jax. Seattle and San Francisco both currently lack cap space to absorb Jackson's $10.7 million, but could fit him in if he's released and does a new deal. La Canfora reports Jackson trade talks "are expected to intensify" at this week's league meetings in Orlando. Source: CBS Sports Mar 22 - 2:34 PM Rotoworld

Texans trade Matt Schaub to Raiders for 6th round pick
Flynnatic10 replied to BLUE's topic in General NFL Talk
Schaub is probably better than whoever the hell they were gonna get with the pick It's meh for the Raiders, seeing they can get a stopgap for a little bit while Pryor/draft pick can mature a little bit before they start. Granted, Schaub isn't the same player from 3 seasons ago. Plus, they do need to spend money somewhere Great for Texans, as they dump his awful contract and can start over with Bortles/Bridgewater.
