The Chiefs have won their last three matchups with the Seahawks. Seattle's last win over Kansas City came in 2002, its first season as an NFC team. The Seahawks and Chiefs were division rivals from Seattle's inception in 1976 to 2001 -- KC had a 30-17 (.638) record against Seattle over that time.

The Chiefs lost to the Chargers last Thursday, 29-28, on a touchdown and two-point conversion with four seconds left. Kansas City has had a lead in the fourth quarter in every game this season. The last team do so in every game of a full season was the 2013 Seahawks, who would go on to win the Super Bowl.

The Seahawks lost to the 49ers in Santa Clara in Week 15, 26-23 in OT, snapping a four-game winning streak. Three of those wins came at home by a combined 91-47 margin. Seattle's points allowed has decreased in each of its last four home games, conceding just seven to Minnesota in Week 14.

Patrick Mahomes is 173 yards short of 5000 through 15 games of his career. No quarterback in NFL history has reached 5000 passing yards in fewer than 19 games - Andrew Luck, Mark Bulger and Kurt Warner all reached 5K in their 19th career game.

Chris Carson set career highs in rushing yards (119) and receptions (six) in the loss to the 49ers. It was the ninth time in franchise history a Seahawk rushed for 100-plus yards and caught five or more balls, and the first since Marshawn Lynch in 2011 (109 rushing yards, five receptions vs. Ravens).

The Chiefs and the Seahawks are both 6-3 in their last nine games. Since Week 6, Seattle has allowed opponents to score touchdowns on just 41.4 percent of red-zone drives, the lowest rate in the league. Kansas City has scored on 72.1 percent of red-zone drives since then, third best in the NFL.

How the Chiefs react to that last second loss last week should be an indicator of how they do in the postseason. However, if we know Andy Reid at all he’s going to give fans a false sense of confidence. Chiefs win here, probably next week too and then get crushed in the playoffs.
