Denver won 23-22 in Los Angeles in Week 11, the Chargers only loss this season to a team with a losing record. With a win, the Chargers would match the best road record in franchise history - 7-1 in 2009 -- and the longest single-season road winning streak in franchise history at six games (1961 and 2009). If they lose or Kansas City wins in Week 17, the Chargers will be on the road for the Wild Card game. The Broncos fell in Oakland in Week 16, their third loss in a row after reaching .500 (6-6) in Week 13. Denver lost the turnover battle against the Raiders 2-0, its worst turnover margin of the season. The Broncos had six games with a -2 differential or worse last season. Philip Rivers is set to make his 208th consecutive start, which would tie Peyton Manning (1998-2011) for the third-longest quarterback start streak in league history. Rivers needs one touchdown pass Sunday to break a tie with John Hadl for the most all-time versus the Broncos (both now have 43). Denver's first-year players have accounted for 3008 scrimmage yards and 22 offensive touchdowns this season. The 2012 Colts are the only other team in the Super Bowl era whose first-year players have totalled 20 or more touchdowns and 3000-plus yards from scrimmage (21, 3142). The Chargers have three players this season with 500 or more receiving yards and five or more receiving touchdowns (K. Allen, M. Williams and T. Williams); only Tampa Bay has more (4). The Broncos are one of five teams which does not have a single player with 500-plus receiving yards and 5-plus receiving TDs.
