After a 1-5 start this season, the Colts went 9-1 the rest of the way and clinched their first playoff berth since 2014 by beating the Titans last week. Indianapolis is the third team in NFL history to reach the postseason after starting 1-5, joining the 1970 Bengals and 2015 Chiefs. Since their 9-1 stretch began in Week 7, the Colts lead the NFL in point differential (+117) and points allowed per game (16.4).

The Texans yielded 119 total yards in their 20-3 win over the Jaguars last week, their second fewest allowed in team history, winning the AFC South for the third time in four seasons. Houston is the sixth team in NFL history to reach the playoffs after starting a season 0-3, and joined the 1992 Chargers as the second to win its division. Those Chargers are the only one of the previous five to win a playoff game.

Houston got its first victory of the season with a 37-34 overtime win in Indianapolis in Week 4, but the Colts returned the favor with a 24-21 win in Houston in Week 14. Each of the last 10 meetings between these teams has been decided by single digits, with Indianapolis winning six. The Colts have won five of the last six matchups in Houston, with all six being decided by seven points or fewer.

Andrew Luck posted single-season career highs in passer rating (98.7) and completion percentage (67.3) in 2018. He threw six touchdowns and one interception against Houston this year while also passing for 863 yards, the third most for any player versus a single opponent in a single season in NFL history.

Deshaun Watson passed for 234 yards while rushing for 66 more and a score last week, in the process becoming the first player in league history to have at least 4000 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 500 rushing yards and 5 rushing touchdowns in a single season.

DeAndre Hopkins and T.Y. Hilton rank third and fourth in the NFL, respectively, in receiving yards since 2013. Hopkins' 528 career receptions are the most by any player through six career seasons, while his 7437 yards are the sixth most. Hilton had 314 receiving yards against the Texans this season, the most for any player versus a single opponent in 2018.
