Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted May 16, 2019 Quote Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson has been suspended for the first six games of the 2019 season for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy, the league announced Thursday. Details of what Peterson did, and when he did it, remain confidential, as per the NFL's PED policy. But he dropped his appeal, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. "Patrick recognizes how disappointing this is for everyone in the organization as well as our fans," the Cardinals said in a statement. "As we all do, he understands that regardless of intent he is ultimately responsible for everything he puts in his body. Our coaching staff and our players are now aware that we will have to play the first six games without Patrick and they understand they have to rise to the challenge that it presents." http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/26761850/cardinals-cb-peterson-gets-6-game-ped-ban
BJORN 679 Posted May 19, 2019 This is pretty disappointing to see from a guy like PP, who every one from the media, peers, fan respected. According to the rules, a six game suspension without appeal indicates that he knew what he was doing. That's got to be pretty damning on his legacy, imo. Also, compare this to Evans 2 Year ban in the NBA. Why is this not a thing? Especially in the concussion awareness era, you would think PED use would be heavily punished. This is Pat Pete's first time being caught with PEDs, a 6 game suspension is fair. I have no idea why you are trying to compare this to Evans' situation since Evans was suspended for drugs of abuse not PEDs. For comparison sake, a NBA player would be suspended 10 games for first test positive for PEDs. That's basically equivalent to 2 NFL games.
BJORN 679 Posted May 20, 2019 Sorry thought it was for PEDs. I don't think the article I read explicitly said what it was.
