FartWaffles 1,857 Posted April 26, 2011 Per NFL.com: Several players with NFL experience were claimed by the United Football League's five teams for their 10-man reserve unsigned lists, which are claims to the UFL rights for veteran street free agents, the league announced on its website Tuesday. The two-time defending champion Las Vegas Locomotives claimed former Arizona Cardinals running back J.J. Arrington and former Chicago Bears defensive back Kevin Payne. The Virginia Destroyers claimed former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Willie Parker, former Miami Dolphins quarterback Pat White, former Philadelphia Eagles receivers Reggie Brown and Hank Baskett, former Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans cornerback Jacques Reeves and ex-Chicago Bears and Cleveland Browns tackle Kevin Shaffer. Parker was a part of two Super Bowl champion Steelers teams and posted three consecutive seasons with at least 1,200 rushing yards from 2005 to 2007. The Hartford Colonels claimed former Washington Redskins quarterback Colt Brennan, cornerback Ahmad Carroll, a former Green Bay Packers first-round draft pick, and former Baltimore Ravens tackle Adam Terry. The Sacramento Mountain Lions claimed former Carolina Panthers receiver Keary Colbert and former Miami Dolphins cornerback Will Poole. The Omaha Nighthawks claimed former Detroit Lions safety Daniel Bullocks, receiver Chad Jackson, a former New England Patriots second-round pick, and former Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Texans running back Ryan Moats. These players join up to 40 protected players who saw action for their respective teams in 2010. The upcoming 2011 UFL Draft and subsequent free-agency period will allow teams to increase their rosters to the 70-man limit ahead of 2011 UFL training camps. AL_Royalty 489 Posted April 27, 2011 I really hope Colt Brennan becomes the greatest QB that league could ever imagine having. I was pulling for him in the NFL. It's good that he's getting to play somewhere.
Trinatas 8 Posted May 1, 2011 The UFL is about a season from going completely kerput. They were supposed to be growing by their 3rd season but all that's happening is original teams move closer and closer to folding, nobody is watching, and the debts continue to pile up. This league still owes Mark Cuban and HDNET a handsome payback for a loan that was handed out a year ago.
