SteVo+ 3,702 Posted July 2, 2011 First of all, you are indeed moving up, Razor, because Trident's batting average is god awful. He's going to the 8-hole. As for the pitching, you guys suck. So maybe I need to to put some prospects together to get some proven veterans. I'll start exploring trade options.
Sarge+ 3,436 Posted July 2, 2011 If we get a real ace pitcher, we could probably make the playoffs.

SteVo+ 3,702 Posted July 2, 2011 Remember this is 2014, so Halladay is probably past his prime. At the end of the next update (which is coming as soon as this storm passes) I'll include a list of trade possibilities.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted July 2, 2011 Go get King Felix and drop Sean to the 4th starter. Maybe if he faces inferior opponent pitching, we can make him look better than he really is.

So, where to go from here? We have built up a team of young talent but now we need to fill in the cracks and make a serious playoff push. -We are Major League Baseball's golden standard for defense, so no cause for concern there. Our lineup is still taking care of business. My only concern is Will Taylor's batting average, but his RBIs are still what you would want from a clean-up hitter. -Where we need to improve is pitching, especially starting pitching. As you know, the starting rotation currently looks like this: 1. Sean Brock 2. Arturo Cordova 3. Moises Novak 4. Malik Thornton 5. Armando Galarraga Brock and Thornton aren't going anywhere for obvious reasons, and Galarraga is a very reliable 5th pitcher. So that leaves Cordova and Novak, two A-potential pitchers we drafted and brought up through our system. But both these guys are 29; they're not spring chickens anymore. I think we should trade them now, while their value is high, for proven aces in or entering their prime. We have officially graduated to "win now" mode, so this is the approach we need to take. Hell, by the time the trade deadline has passed, Brock could be our 3rd pitcher. This would be a bold move, but we have the prospects to make it happen. I will update later tonight with detailed trade possibilities. Edited July 3, 2011 by SteVo
