I highly doubt Jim Harbaugh had starting QB in mind when they drafted him. I'm done defending Alex Smith, but that doesn't mean I'm hopping on the Kaepernick bandwagon. CARDINAL 205 Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) I actually see Alex Smith playing really well this upcoming season, and the 49ers making the playoffs in the NFC Wildcard. I was impressed with all the stories that I read and heard during the lockout that Smith was leading and organzing player practices and really showing that he has the personal drive and work ethic to lead this team, and play well individually as well!!!
