SteVo+ 3,702 Posted September 11, 2011 This is always a fun topic to have throughout the season. Celebrate the strengths of your team after a win or blame the refs after a loss. Have at it! Eagles won this week because: -Despite playing sloppy, the Rams played sloppier. -Our run defense tightened up big time in the second half. -Our offense is pretty good. Bay 2,003 Posted September 11, 2011 Special teams and solid defense got us this victory. The offense couldn't punch it in the end zone a single freakin' time. 2/3 phases is pretty good. Offense needs a TON of work.
Shotgun 442 Posted September 11, 2011 Buccaneers lost because: - Very slow start. Offense went 3 and out a bunch and could hardly stay on the field. As a result the D was on too long and got worn out. - Bad play calling on offense as usual. - O-line sucked. - Couldn't stop the short plays as usual. Dunks to the fast guys demolished us and gave the Lions very good TOP. - Bad tackling and a few blown coverages on big plays, like the CJ 4th down TD. Anthony 78 Posted September 11, 2011 Chargers won because Donovan McNabb is the QB in Minnesota
FIDDYDEUCE 81 Posted September 12, 2011 Ravens won because: - the entire team pulled their pants down and bent the Steelers over... you saw what happened. - Offensive Line was beastly - Flacco stopped playing like Flacco - Ray Rice was on fire - The youth movement came up big - Haloti Ngata
G-Men 8 Posted September 12, 2011 (edited) Only week 1, but when we lose to the Redskins you know this could be a long season The Good: - JASON PIERRE-PAUL! We never fall short when it comes to defensive ends - Offense did an ok job of protecting the football. The one turnover was kinda fluky but costly The Bad: - Couldn't stop Grossman passing... REALLY! 300 Yards, 2 scores and no ints. I thought the ONLY way we would lose this game is if they controled the game on the ground with Hightower - Offense. This could be a HUGE problem all year long. Eli has no go-to guy which kills us on 3rd downs not allowing us to stay on the field. We have guys good enough to put points up on the board but you can't just rely on big plays. The punter shouldn't be warming up before your offense even lines up for 3rd down. Tridentdawgpound 1,043 Posted September 12, 2011 We lost because of sloppiness, poor awareness and mental errors. I think it's something that our youth core will work out through the season.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted September 12, 2011 - Aaron Rodgers ability to outgun Drew Brees - Our D's ability to hold the Saints to a couple of FGs instead of letting them drive into the endzone
Glanvilles Grits 142 Posted September 12, 2011 All in all, the Falcons really played well. The Bears were just better. Bad playcalling was the major part of losing. Too many holes in the zones they were calling. TURNOVERS
Guest MikeyDay Posted September 12, 2011 I thought Jags and titans played a good game despite having pretty poor gameplans. CJ only 9 carries? REALLY? Miscues from both teams killed eachother which is normal it happened around the league alot. Mccown didnt throw ints which is pretty much why the game was close as it is. Hasselbeck throwing a duck at the end for the int kinda lost it too.. Other then that, i didnt take this loss bad at all, its week one and teams played sloppy. I cant really say strengths yet til teams open up more. But i gotta say, Britt played very well despite that lucky TD haha. Hopefully we get the ball to CJ more next week, we def gunna need it
Guest MikeyDay Posted September 12, 2011 All in all, the Falcons really played well. The Bears were just better. Bad playcalling was the major part of losing. FartWaffles 1,857 Posted September 12, 2011 -Offense got off to a fast start. -Ben Tate and Derrick Ward filled in for Arian Foster well. -Defense created turnovers early. -Played a very depleted Colts team.
Eefluxx 113 Posted September 12, 2011 We lost because we played the frickin defending super bowl champions. In their house. And because Rodgers was unstoppable when he wanted to be. Plus because Raji was pretty much unblockable no matter what we did. And because as a whole the Packers defense stopped us when it mattered.
Barracuda 629 Posted September 12, 2011 Browns lost because: 1. Early penalties contributing to great field position for the Bengals in which they came out with 10 points. 2. Up front couldn't give McCoy enough time to throw the ball. He was constantly being chased around the pocket. 3. The new kick off rule. The time Josh Cribbs took the ball out it was a 50 some yard return putting us in Bengal territory. Cribbs is a threat to score every time he catches that ball, he could easily change the course of a game, which he did. After that momentum boost the Browns came up with 14 unanswered points. Glanvilles Grits 142 Posted September 12, 2011 Yeah def alot of vanilla playcalling around the league today. Lockout effects, yall will be iight too. We had the same issues last season. Mularky has to go. He has a horrible offensive playbook. It's built for bad players to get short gains the entire game. Atlanta has a great offense, the plays that are called don't take advantage of the skills our players have.
Thanatos 2,847 Posted September 12, 2011 (edited) The Panthers lost because A) The special teams decided that Peterson was going to fair-catch the ball without him making a signal, and B) Our run-game didn't show up. They did not lose, as everyone thought they would, because of Cam Newton, who had about as good as day as you can possibly ask of a rookie QB, heck of any QB, especially after a lockout. (Fun fact: Newton is the current leader in fantasy points in my league, beating Breesy out by 2/3 of a point.) WindyCitySports 407 Posted September 12, 2011 We won because our passing game exploded am our defense was lights out. Urlacher proved he's got a lot left and Cutler shut up the haters.
go.greenbay 0 Posted September 12, 2011 Rodgers and his ability to place the ball where it needs to be. Defense for stopping potential T.D's and the fact that Packers ROCK, are a few of the reasons they were victorious!!
blotsfan 2,112 Posted September 12, 2011 Chiefs played poorly, we played well. Had a bit of luck.
FelixTheCat 2 Posted September 12, 2011 - Dez got injured - Romo is still kinda dumb
Guest Phailadelphia Posted September 12, 2011 1 very costly mistake by Romo, and 1 very costly mistake by Alex Albright allowing the punt block.
Milla4Prez63 678 Posted September 12, 2011 Bucs lost mainly because of Greg Olson and his horrible playcalling. Defense didn't play well, but things would've been better if the offense could've given them some rest in the first half.
Turry 755 Posted September 12, 2011 (edited) Our front 4 did a terrific job, they got 5 sacks. Our Defense as a whole played lights out and did not allow the falcons to score a offensive TD and caused 3 turnovers. Our O line was decent (Garza did a fantastic job) and Jay made plays. Duck Fallas 209 Posted September 12, 2011 The Redskins won because: A) They are awesome. B) The Giants scored fewer points. C) Rex Grossman played like an above average QB. D) Our defense looked pretty sharp, unlike weeks 1-16 of last season. E)The Giants only half showed up to play.
