The massive outcry over Okie State not being in the title game is fucking hilarious. Say whatever you want about Okie State playing 6 ranked teams and Bama only playing 3 ranked teams, but fact of the matter is that Bama's one loss was handed to them by the #1 team in the nation, while Okie State lost to fucking Iowa State. The Cowboys shot themselves in the dick, plain and simple. Deal with it.

The team that didn't win their division, much less their conference, could beat that champion of their conference, split the season series with them, and somehow that gives them the title of best team in the nation. Lol.

Only if the games that came afterwards end the same way... Which we can't say for certain because we have no idea how LSU would have responded to a loss.

 

I just can't fathom giving a vastly inferior team a chance to win the national title.

 

Why not just not play a game and give it to LSU by default.

You can't discount that Oklahoma State has a significantly better quarterback than either LSU or Alabama. Brandon Weeden alone would keep the Cowboys in a game with either of these opponents, and the idea that LSU would blow them out is asinine. The fact of the matter is, if LSU loses the national title game, they should be able to demand a rematch because Alabama's first loss apparently doesn't count. There should be a third game if the Tide win this next one. It'd only be fair.

What this debate comes down to is whether or not you believe the best two teams should always play for the NCG--even if it's a rematch--or if the #2 team should not get a second chance to beat the #1 team. #1 Ohio State at home against the #2 Michigan Wolverines, defeats #2 Michigan 42-39. Ohio State wins the Big 10, Michigan does not. Michigan is now 11-1, Ohio State is now 12-0.

 

There was a rematch, right? #1 barely beat #2 by 3 points at home. #2 is one of the 2 best teams in the country, right? No says the computers and human polls. No rematch. #2 Michigan goes to the Rose Bowl against USC, #1 Ohio State goes to the National Championship..and Florida, who had previously lost to #11 Auburn 27-17 on the road, is selected into the BCS National Championship game, AHEAD OF #2 MICHIGAN who only had 1 loss, against #1 Ohio State, by 3 points, on the road.
