AL_Royalty 489 Posted December 18, 2011 (edited) Right now, there at least two openings for NFL head coaching jobs, and it looks like there could be plenty more. Weeks ago the Jaguars fired long time coach Jack Del Rio. On Monday, almost a week ago, the Chiefs replaced Todd Haley with interm coach Romeo Crennel, and the Miami Dolphins replaced Tony Sparano with interm coach Todd Bowles. Both appear to be stop gaps for a fresh start in 2012. On top of that, there are many other head coaches that have fans calling for their heads—Browns Pat Shurmer, Eagles Andy Reid, Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris, and Colts Jim Caldwell head up the list. The usual suspect's names are floating around. Cowher, Gruden, Fisher, and Billick are among the names circulating. There also coordinators like Brian Schottenheimer who seem to have their names in the hat. So pick one or all of these coaches and tell us who you want to/ think will take over the reigns of the(se) franchises. ---~~~---~~~---~~~---~~~---~~~---~~~---~~~---~~~---~~~---~~~--- Kansas City Chiefs Fire Todd Haley, Name Crennel Interim Coach Shahid Kahn Buys Jags....Fires Jack Del Rio, Mel Tucker Named Interim Coach Dolphins Axe Tony Sparano, Retain GM Ireland, and promote Bowles to Interim Coach Glazers Relieve Raheem Morris of Head Coaching Duties Rams Cut Ties with Spags and GM Devanney Colts Owner Jim Irsay Cleans House. Bay 2,003 Posted December 26, 2011 I'm hearing if Spags gets fired that Fisher could take over in St. Louis.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted December 26, 2011 I really could see Fisher take over in Indy... Although, not sure how high they are on his list being a former rival and all. lol
.AirMcNair. 1,232 Posted December 26, 2011 I really could see Fisher take over in Indy... Although, not sure how high they are on his list being a former rival and all. lol Titans and Colts never really have been rivals. Fisher always had an outstanding relationship with Tony Dungy(the whole Fisher putting on the Manning jersey thing was him joking around with Dungy at an event for Dungy), and I'm assuming him and Caldwell got along fine. The Colts have no ill will towards the Titans/Fisher and vice versa.
AllYouNeedIsLovie 377 Posted January 2, 2012 Raheem Morris and Spags have been fired. I am really hoping the Bucs can get Fisher. He is apparently meeting with them and the Dolphins.
BucD+ 648 Posted January 2, 2012 @JasonLaCanfora (Jason La Canfora) Jets O coordinator Brian Schottenheimer granted permission to interview with the Jags. Mike Mularkey (Falcons) and Rob Chudzinski (Panthers) Per PFT: Jeff Fisher wants to coach: Rams, Chargers, Bucs, Colts possiblePosted by Michael David Smith on January 2, 2012, 1:46 PM EST After a year off, Jeff Fisher is ready to coach again. Multiple reports on this Black Monday in the NFL say that Fisher, who coached the Titans from 1995 (when they were the Houston Oilers) until 2010, wants back in the business. And, no surprise, the reports say Fisher wants to coach a team with a stable quarterback situation. (In other words, he doesn’t want another Vince Young.) Where the reports differ is in which teams interest Fisher most. Albert Breer of NFL Network reports that Fisher is expected to have the Rams and Chargers at the top of his list, assuming Norv Turner joins Steve Spagnuolo on the unemployment line. Mike Freeman of CBS reports that Fisher likes the Bucs and the Colts, assuming Jim Caldwell gets fired along with Raheem Morris. So Fisher apparently likes the idea of coaching Sam Bradford or Philip Rivers or Josh Freeman or Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck. It seems likely that at least one of the teams with a vacancy would be interested in a proven coach like Fisher, and that he’ll be back on the sidelines in 2012. AL_Royalty 489 Posted January 2, 2012 Also, the Browns are looking to bring yet another ex-head coach into the fold. Brad "Chilly" Childress is reportedly the front runner for the OC job in Cloleveland for the lolBrowns. Jauron, Chilly, Holmgrem... All these "head coaches" and the have a shitty OC running their team. lolPatricia Shurmer.

AL_Royalty 489 Posted January 2, 2012 The Colts have apparently fired everyone now. Caldwell and the Polians are no more in Indy, so there's that. Also, what about the coaches on the chopping block that haven't been chopped yet? Jason Garrett has been told bu Jerry that his job is safe, but is it really? REEEEAAAALLLLY??? As of four weeks ago it was a forgone conclusion that Andy Reid was dead in the water, then his bipolar team strings together a few wins at the end of the year and saves the day? Did he once again avoid unemployment by doing just enough to not get fired? Hasn't Philly's head realize it can't survive with such a fat, fat body? After the offseason that wasn't there were a lot of guys who got a second chance to screw things up again. No that they have, the levy is breaking and none of them are safe. Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted January 2, 2012 My reaction to Irsay in the shoutbox. Had to be done, in my opinion. And Jeff Fisher is licking his chops.
SteVo+ 3,702 Posted January 2, 2012 My reaction to Irsay in the shoutbox. Totally agree. Colts are right to clean house and Caldwell better be next.
Sarge+ 3,436 Posted January 2, 2012 Caldwell is already out.
SteVo+ 3,702 Posted January 2, 2012 I thought they had technically only fired management to this point. Have to think Caldwell is imminently fired either way, though, so it shouldn't matter.
BucD+ 648 Posted January 2, 2012 Per PFT: Bills fire Edwards, promote Wannstedt to defensive coordinatorPosted by Michael David Smith on January 2, 2012, 3:54 PM EST Bills coach Chan Gailey announced at today’s season-ending press conference that he has fired defensive coordinator George Edwards and will replace him by promoting assistant head coach/linebackers coach Dave Wannstedt to the coordinator job. This was Wannstedt’s first year on the Bills’ staff, following six seasons as head coach at the University of Pittsburgh. He’s previously been the head coach of the Dolphins and Bears, as well as defensive coordinator of the Dolphins and Cowboys. He has generally been well respected as a coordinator but less than well respected as a head coach. Edwards had been the Bills’ defensive coordinator for the last two years. Gailey added that he is currently evaluating the rest of his staff. Gailey also addressed the Bills’ personnel, including receiver Stevie Johnson, who was benched on Sunday after picking up a celebration penalty following a touchdown catch. Gailey said he’s open to re-signing Johnson, who will be a free agent, but that he would want to make sure he and Johnson are on the same page. And Gailey defended quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who has been criticized because his play declined after he signed a lucrative contract extension during the season. Gailey said he believes that as the team improves, Fitzpatrick’s play will improve.
BucD+ 648 Posted January 2, 2012 (edited) @NFL:According to @JasonLaCanfora, the @STLouisRams hope to hire Jeff Fisher & pair him w/ a young GM: bit.ly/unH5KD Edited January 2, 2012 by BucD
BucD+ 648 Posted January 2, 2012 Obviously no link for this as it was just aired on NFLN, but... LaCanfora just said on NFLN that he keeps hearing Mike Sherman's and Mike Mularkey's (Falcons' OC) names for the Bucs next HC...
SteVo+ 3,702 Posted January 2, 2012 Lmao if they hire Sherman...
HadenIsland23 42 Posted January 2, 2012 Mularkey was almost hired as the Browns OC couple years ago. Rumors are Gruden turned down Miami job, which means maybe Tampa? Really hope we get rid of Shurmur. Not winning a division game is un called for.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted January 2, 2012 LMAO if ANYBODY hires Mike Sherman. OH LORD. Tampa Bay's future is very... very cloudy. He is a VERY nice guy. And he tried really hard... But if he is your guy. NEVER... EVER... let him help you draft players. Because he has no idea what to do in the war room.
AllYouNeedIsLovie 377 Posted January 2, 2012 Really hope the Bucs don't get Sherman. Wouldn't mind Mularkey. Would love Fisher, but right now it looks like the Rams are the front runners for him.
