Depressed D-Mac Mocked

Recommended Posts

Yes guys... I'm depressed, and will be for a couple of days... So I decided I mind as well make a mock. lol.

- It's EXTREMELY early, I haven't really done all that much looking into things so I don't have all the prospects, I know I missed a few prospects, (A lot), but after the Senior Bowl, and everyone makes there decisions on going pro or staying.

- My analysis will be a lot more thorough and informative when we get to the meat of the NFL draft.

- I will do two more after this one, one before the combine, and then one more after combines and pro days, etc.

- I added one trade, there will be more, but I didn't feel like putting them all in, so lookout for the next one.

- This was done while watching Ben hobble around the field, so the last 3-5 spots are probably incorrect in positioning.

- I love talking about LBs, so don't laugh at me.

- I love arguing. So if you find something worth arguing about, let's get it.

------

1. Indianapolis Colts - Andrew Luck - QB - Stanford

It's a given by now. They might get a deal done before the draft ever happens.

St. Louis Rams TRADE - #2 to the Browns for Pick #4

2. Cleveland Browns – Robert Griffin III – QB – Baylor

RGIII has too much potential, a very talented pocket passer with all world athletic ability is rare. I doubt the Browns pass up on the opportunity.

3. Minnesota Vikings - Matt Kalil – OT – USC

The Vikings line has been pretty bad this year. Kalil would be an instant upgrade, and help go a long way in the development of Ponder.

4. St. Louis Rams – Justin Blackmon – WR – OSU

This is a no brainer, the Rams have nobody at receiving aside from the slot receiver who's name I can't remember. Blackmon would be an instant upgrade and a huge one.

5. Tampa Bay Bucs – Morris Claiborne – CB – LSU

I was torn between Richardson and Claiborne, but at the end of the day, I think with the lack of depth at DB, Morris ends up being the pick. *Richardson NFL draft fall legacy begins*

6. Washington Redskins – Ryan Tannehill - QB – T A&M

Surprise! The Redskins decide to not wait for who they believe will be the future of the franchise. Too many physical tools to ignore, and every year there has to be a Blaine Gabbert.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars - Alshon Jeffery - WR - South Carolina

Gabbert needs weapons, his receivers suck. Jeffrey is HUGE, there is NO WAY Gabbert comp % can be as bad as this past season with a target this big. And he's deceptively fast.

8. Miami Dolphins – Riley Reiff - OT - Iowa

Colombo fuckin sucks, and since the best QBs are off the board, Miami decides to grab the best player available.

9. Carolina Panthers - Dre Kirkpatrick - CB - Alabama

Panther's defense cost the team games last year so they will go with the BD(efensive)PA on the board. It could be one of the edge rushers, but nope, the Panthers decide to draft a CB with the CB with the size and tools and potential to be one of the best.

10. Buffalo Bills – Quinton Couples – DE/OLB – UNC

As long as you play in the same division as Brady, you need to find a way to get to the QB. Couples has the versatility to play both in a 3-4 and 4-3, so he'd fit in perfectly in Buffalo. :yep:

11. Kansas City Chiefs - Jonathan Martin - OT - Stanford

Richardson sucks ass too. Martin has enough versatility to play on either side, so either Albert moves to RT or Martin is moved to RT. Either or, the Chiefs will have two very good tackles.

12. Seattle Seahawks - Courtney Upshaw - DE/OLB - Alabama

Seahawk's are one dominant pass rusher away from having one of the best linemen in the NFL. Upshaw could be that guy. :yep:

13. Arizona Cardinals – Michael Floyd - WR - Notre Dame

Larry Fitzgerald and a 100% healthy Floyd on the outside? Oh God, if Kolb and Skelton can't take advantage of that. Then there's a real problem in Arizona.

14. Dallas Cowboys - David DeCastro - OG – Stanford

There is a chance the Cowboys will trade out of there pick. But if they stay, they will either grab a DE, OLB or reach for a CB. Instead, they stay put and grab a potential all world guard. That way they don;t have to worry about Romo getting knocked out in the gut or his hand while he's tossing the ball.

15. Philadelphia Eagles - Luke Kuechly - ILB - Boston College

This guy is an absolute monster. The Eagles linebackers suck, despite that they finished out with a pretty good defense. Believe you me Eagles fans, this guy is the absolute truth. His instincts and knack for knowing where the ball is unmatched in this class. If you don't know enough about him, watch some highlights, watch him at the combine, you'll get a boner.

16. New York Jets – Trent Richardson - HB – Alabama

So Trent Richardson's slide finally ends? Yep. He brings a lot to the Jets in all facets of the game. But probably the biggest thing he brings is character- something the Jets have been kinda missing...

17. Cincinnati Bengals (OAK) – Janoris Jenkins - CB - Nebraska

Athletically, it doesn't get much better then JJ, he has shutdown corner potential. But he's a thug, therefor Cincy will welcome him with open arms.

18. San Diego Chargers – Nick Perry - OLB/DE - USC

So, this guy kinda looks like a physical freak of nature. It's no secret that the Chargers aren't very deep at rush OLB, he's from USC. And USC LBs don't fail very often.

19. Chicago Bears – Alphonzo Denard - CB – Chicago Bears

I honestly am not very high on the guy, but he is very technically sound. And he looks like by the end of the year, he'll be starting at one of the two CB positions.

20. Tennessee Titans - Peter Konz - C – Wisconsin

Peter Konz is a beast, he hasn't made a decision yet as to whether he's going to come or go, but if he does enter the draft, the Titans HAVE to be all over him. Amano sucks, and CJ would probably throw a big ass house party if/when the Titans take Konz.

21. Denver Broncos - Devon Still - DT - Penn St.

AS flexible as they come for a defensive linemen, and he's very explosive. The Broncos need more pass rush outside of Doom and Miller.

22. Cincinnati Bengals - Lamar Miller - RB - Miami (Fl)

Health is a concern, but he's got a lot of potential. and with Benson kinda reaching that all deadly 30 year old age, a HB might be a good investment.

23. Cleveland Browns – Kendall Wright – WR – Baylor

RGIII and Kendall Wright back on the same team?? They'll be reunited. Little and someone else can take care of the outside. Wright will work the slot, he would an added dimension of verticality to this offense and stretch the field.

24. Detroit Lions – Mark Barron - S – Alabama

This pick will be the BPA, and I really don't think the Lions can go wrong with whomever they take. I kinda hope we take Vontaze... But I HATE Spievey, the guy has NO instincts and he should not be playing safety. Barron would bring someone who can tackle to the squad... yaaayyy.....

25. New York Giants – Mike Adams – OT – OSU

He's a Big Ten linemen, so you know he's gonna go ham. The Giants Oline has been underwhelming, I haven't taken a hard look at the OTs yet, but Adams is a seasoned vet, he probably could start from day uno.

26. Houston Texans – Nick Toon - WR – Wisconsin

I'm not high on Toon, but AJ has had some durability issues as of late, and when he's not there, the Texans lose that big target. Nick Toon could be the answer, this pick will probably definitely change the next time I do this.

27. Pittsburgh Steelers – Vontaze Burfict - ILB – Steelers

Burfict has all the potential in the world, he makes all the splash plays that you rarely see most ILBs make. He's got some character concerns, but he'd be playing for one of the greatest defensive minds ever, and a high character defense with a lot of leaders. Some OL positions could/will be the pick, but like I said, I haven't looked at all of them yet.

28. San Francisco 49ers – Zach Brown - OLB- UNC

I know I know. "We already have a lot of LBs, why would we want another?"... Well, unless if you wanna reach for a wide receiver or a CB, Zach Brown here would be a huge high value pick. And really, in a league where everyone wants to throw the ball, can you really have enough deadly pass rushers? Really?

29. Baltimore Ravens - Dont'a Hightower - ILB – Alabama

Hightower would learn from one of the best ever at his position, Alabama LBs are always textbook smart, and come from a very NFL like defense. And he is big as SHIT.

30. New England Patriots –Vinny Curry – DE/OLB -Marshall

The Pats have two pics, and more then likely they'll trade one of them. With one of them you can expect them to grab one of the pass rushers in this year's draft. There are a lot of them, but there are few specialists. Curry is one of them, I almost gave them the pass rusher out of Illinois, but that guy is so stiff, idk if he could play OLB. BB likes his OLBs to be tall and lean, kinda like Vinny!

31. New England Patriots –Chase Minnifield – CB - Virginia

If this pick isn't traded, it will either be a corner or a DE. You know how BB do.

32. Packers - Fletcher Cox - DE - MSU

I hate the Packers. OLB could very well be the pick here, but I believe they'll grab a DE. A lot of Packer fans tend to disagree, but I believe they miss Jenkins a lot. Fletcher Cox, of all the possible 3-4 DEs, Cox looks like the purest.

Love your pick for the Eagles but would be shocked if they actually went LB in round 1 unfortunately.

So we trade up to 2 but keep the pick at 23? I doubt that would be possible.

Well, Anything is possible in this great world we live in.... lol...

I would cry many tears if we drafted Jeffery that high.

Jeffery is worthy of a 1st round pick imo. At least pre combine, he's shown me enough to warrant that. And being that wide out is a need...

:nope:

#2 for #4, #37 and #101 :yep:

Just didn't feel like writing that all out.

He will not be able to get open in the pros. As a late, late first round pick I wouldn't mind him but that would be an awful pick at 7.

I was a bit iffy on Kuechly, but since you speak so highly of him, I'm all for it, DMac. Unfortunately (and as Sean mentioned), the Eagles don't draft linebackers in the first round very often. Though I'd say it's more likely this draft than any other in recent memory, so you never know.

The Packers definitely need a DE somewhere, and I think the first round is a very likely spot to take that DE. It's just a matter of who the Packers have as the best player available on their board at the time.

Last year the Packers were going to take Wilkerson or Heyward. Both were taken right before our pick and thus we got Sherrod.

No disagreement from me. We do miss Jenkins a lot. His absence is missed second most (behind All Pro safety Nick Collins) on the team this year.

I'll take DL and LB all day. I think we finally got our offensive line, assuming Sherrod can be good. Lang, Wells, Sitton, and Bulaga are locked in as starters and they're performing well. Clifton might be done after this year and Sherrod will step in. If he's decent, we'll finally have our offensive line after 3 years of searching.

Though I'm sure we'll still draft a lineman or two for depth (or a backup plan).

I'm really hopeful Claiborne is there at #5, because he is the only top prospect we have a legit shot at getting I want.

I read this title and thought someone was mocking D-Mac.

I like the pick, but I haven't really looked at the prospects yet, and I'd really, really like a DT over a CB. Our CBs are fine, not great, not even really good, but the D-line is the most in need of an upgrade.

Also, I would see Minny taking Blackmon at #3 if he is there over an OT. They need weapons for Ponder, all he has is Percy Harvin.
