Indeed. Jim Carrey was cast as Colonel Stars supposedly.

I liked Kick-Ass a lot. So different. Really something unique and a breath of fresh air. Look forward to the next!

I loved all the people freaking out over a little girl cussing and killing people, lol.

Anywho, I've been doing some mini-comic reviews for the ones I've been buying and I decided to post them here out of boredom. :yep:

Batman Detective Comics #0

This #0 issue was released as a origin story for Bruce Wayne in DC's New 52 universe. There is nothing out of the ordinary about it, but it was a well done book. I got a variant cover for a dollar extra so it was worth the buy for me. But it really didn't add anything/change anything as far as I'm aware to the Batman universe.

6.5/10

Batman Detective Comics Annual #1

This annual focused on Black Mask, one of my favorite Batman villains so I really loved it. The art was great and all the characters were portrayed well, I'm glad to see the New 52 is giving some love to Roman Sionis because I think he gets way too underutilized. The story wasn't mind-blowingly awesome, but it was a lot of fun to read.

9/10

Before Watchmen: Rorschach #1

I know Alan Moore hates that DC went ahead and did this without his approval, but I liked this book. I haven't checked out any of the other Before Watchmen stuff, but Rorschach is an interesting character and it was badass watching him beat the shit out of some guy who was in the middle of watching porn. My only issue is that the book didn't have enough to warrant the $3.99 price. But it did give that edgy dark Watchmen feel off to me and I liked it.

7.5/10

Avengers Assemble #7

I've been looking forward to this issue since I finished reading #6 for the first time. The Guardians of the Galaxy teaming up with the Avengers to stop Thanos sounded awesome and I enjoyed reading #6, but this issue felt like a waste of time. It didn't really advance the plot, at all, and the action seemed to lack as well. For a monthly comic to barely add to the story like this did, it was just incredibly disappointing. The best thing about this book was the cover, that is a very light compliment.

3.5/10

The Amazing Spider-Man #693

After the 50th anniversary issue introduced a new character named Alpha to supposedly be Spidey's sidekick, it was met with a lot of mostly negative reaction. The Alpha character was just annoying and unlikeable, he is according to Peter Parker, what he would've been if it weren't for Uncle Ben's death. Which I find kind of silly too. This issue adds on to the Alpha plot, where the Jackal looks to kidnap the douche and make clones. Alpha is still annoying, maybe even more annoying and unlikable, than he was in #692 and the action was just not that great. It wasn't awful, but I just feel like they didn't do anything to make Alpha any more enjoyable for fans. It appears he'll either get his moment of redemption or maybe become a villain, and for that I will look into getting #694.

6/10

Avengers vs. X-Men #11

After a long month, we finally got the next installment into the epic Avengers vs. X-Men event, and it didn't disappoint. We get the return of Hulk, some well drawn action scenes and what could be a huge twist for the Marvel universe going forward as this series sets up Marvel NOW! There are still a lot of loose ends to tie up in the final issue, but I can't wait to get my hands on it. I just hate that they are dragging this out after making it a bimonthly series at first.

I'm looking forward to this, Marvel NOW! announces a Thunderbolts relaunch with the team apropriately being led by General "Thunderbolt" Ross as Red Hulk. The rest of the team will be filled out by Elektra, Venom (Flash Thompson), Punisher and Deadpool. I'm mainly going to get this because of good 'ol Wadey, but it looks promising to me. Though a lot of people are upset they aren't really using any actual villains like Thunderbolts was originally.

I just decided to post a little info I've heard about talking to someone interesting about upcoming Marvel projects in film.

So basically, the only films 100% green lit out of Marvel Studios are Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers 2. Marvel REALLY wants to get the ball rolling on Ant-Man but Edgar Wright is weighing his options on his next project. He really wants to do the movie, but he's got some other offers. But the plan is to shoot it next year with a release in 2014, but it isn't a sure deal. The possible Black Panther movie appears to be dead for now. Marvel is going to introduce Falcon in the Cap sequel for an african american hero in the Avengers sequel rather than go into the whole Wakanda deal. It is a possibility for Phase 3 though, as is Doctor Strange, which Marvel has been pitching to writers. A solo Hulk film with Mark Ruffalo won't happen until after the next Avengers for sure, but I knew that already because Kevin Feige said it. Feige said he'd like to do the Planet Hulk plot and considering Marvel was in failed discussions with FOX to get Silver Surfer rights back, it sounds like that may be a serious idea.

But what I heard that made me sad was that the whole Deadpool project is dead for now. FOX is locked on to the Wolverine movie, First Class sequel and Fantastic Four reboot. Plus, supposedly FOX is skeptical of a rated R comic book movie. Which really sucks, because Deadpool is the one character I want on the big screen. But it doesn't sound like FOX is serious about it. They were working on a Daredevil reboot, but gave up on it and Marvel Studios will soon have those rights back with them within the month. They supposedly have no real plans for him though.

I really like Marvel Studios way more than I already did after hearing about them, they really sound like they are legitimate fanboys of these characters and care about what they put on the screen. They also have so many ideas and characters they want to do going forward. If they could, they'd give us movies about nearly every character they have lol. Which makes me wish they had the rights to X-Men, FF and Spider-Man back. It just makes me puzzled why some of you guys here actually think DC is better with movies lol. Marvel is just so ambitious with their characters and projects, while DC just tries to cash in on Batman and Superman. The fact we'll get a Guardians of the Galaxy film before Wonder Woman or Flash is kind of a joke.

20th Century Fox has announced today that Mark Millar has been tapped as a creative consultant for all future adaptations based on the studios’ Marvel properties. This means that the Kick-Ass creator will most likely be in the room for key discussions about the best ways for the film studio to develop future franchises based on the character rights they currently own.

Andrew Garfield and Marc Webb back on board for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Andrew Garfield will return to the role of Peter Parker and Marc Webb is set to direct as Columbia Pictures prepares to begin production on the next installment of The Amazing Spider-Man, it was announced today by Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures, and Hannah Minghella, president of production for the studio. The screenplay is by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner based on a previous draft by James Vanderbilt. The film will be produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach. The new chapter in the Spider-Man saga is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014.

Emma Stone is also in talks to return to the blockbuster franchise and is expected to reprise her role as Gwen Stacy.

The new film will begin production in early 2013. Webb, Garfield and Stone previously teamed on this summer's blockbuster The Amazing Spider-Man, which has taken in more than $751 million worldwide.

Commenting on the announcement, Belgrad said, "We could not be more confident in the direction we are taking this new Spider-Man storyline and we are tremendously excited to be ramping up production again with Marc at the helm and Andrew continuing on as Peter Parker. We can’t wait to share what we have in store for Peter and Spider-Man with audiences worldwide."

I just have a feeling that they are going to do it an injustice and make it really awful... It will probably be one of those movies that is so bad it's good / funny. Kinda like Wickerman.

Unlike Ant Man, which is gonna be terrible no matter what. I hope GotG will be good... I just dunno if they can pull it off.

There's obviously a lot of time until the final product is done... I will wait for more information to come out before forming a real opinion on the project but... I think the odds are against them

^ For GotG, because obviously Ant Man is already a huge failure.

I read up on this deal, at first it sounded cool but then I read something about FOX doing their own shared Marvel Universe and about spit up my drink. Really? lol

The only characters FOX will have the rights to are the X-Men and Fantastic Four (they currently have Daredevil but that will go back to Marvel within weeks). Are they really going to attempt to do an X-Men and FF shared universe? lol Because that sounds really retarded. They could maybe do something about Reed's son being a mutant, but a cameo from Xavier is about the best they could run with. If they actually try to do a X-Men/FF teamup movie, they should go out of fucking business lol. I wish Marvel had the rights to everyone back.

Hmm. I was reading that Marvel is looking at giving FOX more time to develop Daredevil in exchange to regain the rights to use Silver Surfer and Galactus.

You guys ever see the Silver Surfer show that was on in the 90's? I can see why it got cancelled. It was a little deep for a saturday morning cartoon lol but I watched it on Netflix and thought it was pretty awesome.

They were talking about that, but FOX supposedly thinks those characters will be key for the FF and said no. It doesn't sound like FOX was serious about rebooting Daredevil and don't mind letting Marvel get it back. But with Millar on board, maybe they get a bit more serious about it. However, they have to give Marvel something because they literally will lose those rights any day now.

The original probably, but for sequels FOX wants those characters. I'm guessing Marvel wants SS for the Hulk sequel they've talked about being a Planet Hulk deal, but the report is FOX said no.

“Those insiders said that with Josh Trank aboard to direct, Fantastic Four is a big priority and the studio would be crazy to give away a cornerstone villain. Especially when the studio is very lukewarm about rebooting Daredevil, which focuses on blind lawyer Matt Murdock and his emergence as a crime fighter powered by heightened sensory perception. [Despite considering Carnahan], it sounds like Fox is ready to let it revert to Disney-owned Marvel, unless Disney is interested in co-financing.”

If that's the case, I think we end up losing. From what I saw out of possible DD reboots, they were going to go really dark, which would have been awesome. Although, I have no idea why they offered Ben Affleck the part... lol.

And even though I look forward to the F4 reboot, I am thinking Marvel could have done a lot more with the characters in let's say... A Defenders movie.

Bad News is Bad.

I wish Marvel would get everyone back. I have very little faith in FOX. First Class was amazing, but nearly everything else they've released have either been decent or terrible. X3, Wolverine and FF were shit lol.

EDIT: on 2nd thought, FOX can keep X-Men. I like where they are going with FC and I'm intrigued by the new Wolverine movie. Besides, it is tough to fit them into the MCU. But Spidey and the FF need to come back to Marvel.
