Eric Wright suspended 4 games for adderall

Recommended Posts

Per Jay Glazer on Twitter.

WTF, for Talib and now Wright. Luckily, we only have Oakland next week and then Talib is back, but what is up with our guys using adderall?

They're not taking Adderall, lol. That's just the least offensive banned substance on the list and the League and team are not allowed to talk about what actually happened as per the new CBA.

Enter Leonard Johnson :yep:

Good news is our pass D already sucked, so it couldn't be much worse.

The 2012 season is becoming more complicated by the day for Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Eric Wright.

Coach Greg Schiano told reporters Monday that Wright is dealing with an Achilles injury. He didn't practice Monday after playing in Thursday night's win over the Minnesota Vikings.

"That is a little bit of a concern," Schiano said.

Wright's injury comes on the heels of reports that he faces a potential four-game suspension for Adderall use, which violates the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

"Per the league guidelines, I really can't discuss it, and neither can Eric," Schiano said.

A reporter asked Schiano if he would be disappointed to see another of his players penalized after cornerback Aqib Talib was hit with a four-game suspension for the same substance. Schiano declined to answer.

If Wright misses Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders -- because of injury or the league hammer -- a combination of Brandon McDonald and Myron Lewis will be asked to step up. Schiano also expressed confidence in Leonard Johnson, but losing your top pair of cover men isn't easy to rebound from in the NFL.

Leonard wasn't too bad against the Vikings, Percy Harvin was pretty much shut down the entire game, he got a pick, and should have another, so I'm confident we can beat the Raiders. Talib will be back, right?

Talib won't be back until next week against San Diego.

Due to his four-game PEDs suspension, the remainder of the guaranteed money in Bucs RCB Eric Wright's contract has been voided.

So not only will Wright lose $1.7 million in game checks for the four-game ban, he could also be released after the season and the Bucs would be off the hook for his $7.75 million base salary in 2013. This PED suspension -- allegedly for using Adderall, could wind up costing Wright nearly $10 million.

Blessing in disguise for the Bucs that they don't have to pay the rest of that stupid contract.

Thank fucking God. I hope they drop his mediocre ass after the season. Aside for maybe 2 games he's either played like shit or he's been injured.

Per Rotoworld.com:

The Tampa Bay Times believes CB Eric Wright has played his last snap with the Buccaneers.

If so, he'll end up as a one-year, $7.25 million rental. 27-year-old Wright missed four games due to an in-season PEDs suspension, which voided the remaining guarantees in his contract. He was inconsistent in coverage when eligible to play, and skipped the Buccaneers' conditioning workouts during the offseason. Jan 4 - 4:32 PM

Wow. Bucs were smart to include that clause... Get out of that contract as soon as possible. Fucktards for signing him to begin with.

IF he is not cut, Dominik should be fired.

The Tampa Bay Times says the Bucs are expected to release CB Eric Wright.

Wright signed a "five-year, $38 million" contract last offseason, but his four-game PEDs suspension voided all of his remaining guaranteed money. Wright is due $7.75 million in 2013, but he won't see that after being a contributor to one of the worst secondaries in the NFL in 2012. The Bucs will certainly be on the lookout for corners in both free agency and the draft.

I really have no idea why the Buccaneers thought that was a good idea in the first place. He wasn't any good in Detroit and they were a team that was desperate for secondary help and were willing to let him go without even putting up a fight.
