2013 Mock Draft Game Selection Thread

With the 50th pick of the 2013 NFL Draft, the Buffalo DollaBillzYall select...

Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford

11882687-essay.jpg

With Scott Chandler tearing his ACL in Week 16, Bills get great value as perceived first round talent Zach Ertz falls to them with the 20th pick of round two. With Tavon Austin, Ertz adds to the Bills anemic pass offense. Guys like Mike Mayock have even speculated Ertz would get selected before Eifert:

Mayock opined "They've got their own tight end who could go ahead of Tyler Eifert, in Zach Ertz. He's 6'6"-plus, runs well, catches. They're the top two tight ends I saw personally and probably the top two tight ends on anybody's board."

With the 52nd pick in the NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys select:

barrett-jones-p1.jpg

Barrett Jones

Center

University of Alabama

Well Cowboys fans your new GM is at it again. Before you know it you will have an offensive line that can compete at an NFL level. The line as it stands has 3 really good players, Tyron Smiff, Johnathan Cooper, and now this hog molly. Barret Jones is another perfect fir for Dallas, which is a team that has a rash of injuries somewhere all the time. Barret Jones has had equal time at Center and Guard and is exceptional at both. He also started ten games at LT. So there is definitely some scheme versatility as well as position versatility there. He is A big man who is an extremely smart player who is used to the rigors of a physical conference so he should be able to come into the NFCE and start immediately. He will get rid of the sieve in the middle of the line right now. He is an adept pass blocker and paired up with Chance Warmack to smack up ND in the title game and every other opponent in his way. I know 2 big uglies for Dallas....Craziness. Trust me though they need it. They need to capture the 90's offensive line where anyone could have had emmits numbers. It starts this year. They now have 3 potential pro-bowlers on the line.

With the 55th Selection in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs Select...

Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina

2czad69.jpg

The Chiefs have invested a lot in their DLine in the last few years since the switch to the 3-4. So far, all they have to show for it is a young and promising NT in Dontari Poe, a major underachiever in Tyson Jackson, and a massive disappointment in Allen Bailey who got beat out last year by Ropati Pitoitua, a 2008 UDFA of the NY Jets.

The Chiefs have already began their search party for a new DE, by inviting Chris Canty to Arrowhead for a visit.

With Williams, they won't need to do that. Williams gets off the line incredibly quick and is able to get off blocks to disrupt the pocket easily. He brings that raw combination of size, quickness, and power that NFL teams yearn for in DTs. He's also still relatively new to football, which means he will only get better.

The Philadelphia Eagles select Jamar Taylor

512x.jpg

Very well rounded athlete. Great 40 speed, but also good speed in short situations. He's extremely physical and even though he's not that big he's a lot stronger than CB's much bigger than him. He's just a competitor who can blow plays up from the CB position in the backfield. He has some injury concerns but he was my third CB ranked behind Millner and Rhoades and I'm happy to get him late in the second for sure.

With pick number 58 in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select

Kyle Long, RG, Oregon

20130221_mje_ss1_1297.0_standard_352.0.jpg

Now to fix the second of 4 reasons we could not beat the Ravens. It was trying to figure out how to deal with this giant motherfucker:

HalotiNgata.jpg

Chris Kuper got taken to the woodshed, and it's becoming plainly apparent that he can't be expected to hold up against the elite players in this league. Long may need some time to develop into that stud guard prospect we want him to be, but his talent level and upside are off the charts, and he fits in with the mindset we want our guys to have, relentless motors who never take plays off. All these things considered, we can spend a second to turn this guy into an elite player in the future.

With the 59th pick in the NFL draft the Superbowl Champion Baltimore Ravens select:

John+Jenkins+SEC+Championship+Alabama+v+Georgia+LFwgxFutI-Hl.jpg

John Jenkins

Nose Tackle

University of Georgia

Run on us....Not so fast :grinno: . Our run defense was absolutely terrible last year. Cody was a bust and we now do not have to worry about re-signing Kemouateu. Why you ask ? Because our front 3 are going to be Haloti Ngata, Jesse Williams and this fuckin mammoth. Good luck. He is a monster and probably the most powerful NT in the draft. He is a massive dude that is going to command a double team at all times or centers will be getting rolled up with a quickness. He does not possess the super quick feet but does have some athleticism for a man his size. He is an extremely powerful NT who is going to create havoc. He will take a double team and you will have to figure out which guy to leave one on one, Jesse Williams or Haloti Ngata. This move also helps our pass rush with these three monsters on the line. Whoever is coming off the edge is guaranteed a one on one or going through a RB. This guy is going to be an integral part of restoring our run defense to what it was in the days of yore. WE get great value getting this guy where we have.

Team Needs remaining: WR, S, O line.

With the 60th pick of the NFL draft, the Atlanta Falcons select:

OLB Chase Thomas, Stanford

628x471.jpg

With the departure of John Abraham, so goes the only consistent pressure of the Atlanta Falcons. With the Mike Nolan regime entering year two and transitioning from the 4-3 to 3-4/Hybrid. Atlanta will be looking to add someone who can set the edge in both the run, and rush the QB. Chase Thomas, is a fifth year senior, captain of a highly praised Stanford defense that knocked off would-be national title contender Oregon this past season.

Thomas is a highly intelligent backer, who specializes in blitzting, causing turnovers, and can also be moved inside if need be. If Atlanta wants someone who can at least get pressure, it's a start, and everything else that comes from it is a bonus. Chase Thomas has Clay Matthews potential. Atlanta starts the defensive front seven overhaul with this pick.

With the 63rd Selection in the 2013 NFL Draft... The Green Bay Packers Select.

Markus Wheaton, WR, Oregon State

Markus+Wheaton+Darvin+Butler+Nicholls+State+1DMWdDYiqRgl.jpg

The Packers are always stocked at WR, and they do so by loading up on guys in the NFL Draft. Wheaton becomes the latest benefactor. With his speed and quickness, Wheaton will provide a down field threat unlike many other wideouts in the league. With his great vision, he is able to go up and make the tough grabs even if he isn't the biggest guy -- and has shown a great propensity to rack up yards after the catch. He's also a willing blocker and gets very aggressive when asked to do so.

With the 64th Selection in the 2013 NFL Draft... The Jacksonville Jagwhyers Select...

Blidi Wreh-Wilson, CB, Connecticut

Blidi+Wreh+Wilson+UMass+v+Connecticut+ISjoNZMH_MFl.jpg

Flying up draft boards, B.W.W. fits exactly what Gus Bradley looks for in a CB for his system. Big, long, and excellent at aggressive press style man coverage. Some even rank him as the best man coverage corner in the draft. He's only played ball for a few years so any bad habits would easily be fixable. He has size, adequate speed and impressive technique. Effective jam at the line of scrimmage. Fluid, instinctive defender; reads the game well and displays a natural, athletic feel for the corner position moving smooth and balanced out of breaks. Jags fill a desperate need with Derek Cox and Rashean Mathis both likely gone in Free Agency.

With the 66th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select:

FFAKRJBGBYVQENO.20120719150610.jpg

B.W. Webb, CB, William & Mary

After the Combine, Webb joined Mike Mayock's Top Five Cornerbacks list and is one of the top small school prospects in the class of 2013. The Raiders need upgrades all over their atrocious defense and an athletic corner like Webb is a good place to continue that process.

-Via trade with the Philadephia Eagles...the Atlanta Falcons have traded up to make this selection

With the 67th selection of the 2013 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select:

DE/OLB Corey Lemonier Auburn

6541058.jpg

For a second round talent an athletic freak to fall this far without being claimed, is too much of an enticement for the Atlanta Falcons. After already adding one pass rusher in Chase Thomas, the Falcons are taking the next step to rebuild the front 7 in Atlanta.

Corey Lemonier played 4-3 95% of his career at Auburn, but this past year he was asked at times to drop into coverage and rush the passer standing up. An athletic freak, commanding numerous double teams and chips this past season, with a high motor and great first step. Lemonier is one that consistently gets after the QB and brings relentless pressure..but is still considered slightly raw. After playing in the top conference in football producing such tackles such as Luke Joekel, DJ Fluker, and Barrett Jones (2011) Lemonier has shown that he can wreak havoc on the QB. In Mike Nolan's soon to be hybrid defense, Lemonier will strictly have one primary focus, and that is getting pressure on the QB. He also has a great knack blowing up off tackle runs. For the Atlanta Falcons, they now have 2 high potential rookies that can revitilize the life in Atlanta's defense.

With the 69th overall selection in the 2013 NFL Entry Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select:

Brandon Williams, DT, Missouri Southern State

b8k66tt0k02b37nf.jpg

A three time All-American, small school prospect, with the size and power to be a true force at NT. Very strong upper body coupled with good athleticism gives him the ability to simply power through offensive lineman. Will be the future anchor on the Cards d-line.

With the 70th overall selection in the 2013 NFL Entry Draft, the St.Louis Rams select

Manti Te'o LB Notre Dame

Too much value at this point. Rams already have a ILB and WLB, so Te'o would fit in nicely as a SLB.

With the 71st overall selection in the 2013 NFL Entry Draft, the Bills of Buffalo select:

Robert Alford, CB, Southeastern Louisiana

robert-alford.jpg

After breaking on to the scene in the Senior Bowl, the Bills get another young talented corner to pair along with Stephen Gilmore. With Leodis McKelvin likely gone in free agency, he also fills the return role vacated by the aforementioned McKelvin. Alford's a feisty player who has a lot of experience covering and blitzing from the slot. Excellent change-of-direction ability, mirrors receivers by staying square in front of them and not opening his hips up. Great ball skills and an excellent vertical. Good value for the Bills in the 3rd round.

With the 72nd selection in the 2013 NFL Draft the New York Jets Select:

Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse

nassib-late-riser-story.jpg

The Jets just could not let this man slip any farther. Nassib has all the intangibles needed to succeed in the NFL unlike other quarterbacks in this draft who seem to constantly make the big mistakes (reminds me of a quarterback already on our roster). We like Nassib's football IQ and we feel this is a great value pick in the third round. He won't start right away and we will continue to build an offense around him that will hopefully help him succeed in being the Jets quarterback of the future.

NBB has been skipped. Bay sent me his pick to make for him in case he wasn't online. Since he's currently not online, with the 74th pick in in the 2013 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select Travis Frederick, C, Wisconsin.

Alright I'm gonna take Greg Reid, CB, FSU. Saints could definitely use some CB depth. I guess he's a good return man too, so that's a plus.
