With the 80th pick in the NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys select:

Armstead.jpg

Terron Armstead

Offensive Tackle

University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff

Oh man how Jerry and his new GM have fought. Jerry wanted to add some flash to the team by picking the most hyped prospect on the board. To which the GM said,"Nay, I say". I told him I when I took the job I was going to turn this team around, and for some reason I have found joy in it. This prospect I think was dumbed on as an underwear olmpics warrior, but people forget that the senior bowl he rocked out too and was impressive. Terron Armstead is going to nearly complete the entire overhaul of a dog shit offensive line. Of the 3 prospects they have gotten in the draft thus far none have been ranked at lest than an 80. The new GM is making waves. Armstead going to kick inside to guard because I said so and Jason Garret is an idiot. Armstead is not really a franchise tackle so kick him into guard where he still has mauling power and unusual for his extremely quick feet. He just does not have the height or arm length to get it done with the best. However at Guard he is going to be an absolute beast. He has great feet and a quick slide in pass protection. He may need to get more accurate with his hands, but that makes hi wonderfully suited for guard. He also has an ability to get to the second level just as his other cohorts. He will need to locate on location but that is easily fixed.Pair him with Johnathan Cooper and you have the two most athletic lineman in this draft playing on your interior with another supremely athletic C in Barret Jones. Any one of these 3 are more than capable of pulling, however together screen passes are going to be a monster here in Dallas. So now that is 4 great lineman. LT: Tyron Smith, LG: Johnathan Cooper, C: Barret Jones, RG: Terron Armstead, RT: Hunk of shit. That should give Romo more than enough time to throw a bone headed interception. The Cowboys again get GREAT value with this pick. And Jerry Jones is throwing a tantrum firing poor people left and right.

With the 83rd overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans select...

D.J. Swearinger, Safety, South Carolina

J+Swearinger+Florida+v+South+Carolina+dYLWkf-P9J0l.jpg

D.J. Swearinger is everything Tennessee is missing at the safety position. Strong. Intimidating. Big hitter. While we signed George Wilson, it's obvious that's only a stop gap, given Wilson is already on the downhill side of his career. Swearinger is a little on the short side for the position, but his toughness and ability to hit will allow Michael Griffin to stay outside of the box, as Griffin hits about as hard as a teddy bear, and will allow Griffin to play the free safety/outfielder role where he can become a ball hawk again, similar to the Chris Hope/Griffin lineup the Titans used effectively for a few years.

Sitting behind a solid, experienced veteran such as Wilson will only make Swearinger better, and as he learns to read opposing offenses better, he has the talent to become one of the better strong safeties in the league. Tennessee feels they got a steal with being able to take him this far down.

Indianapolis Colts select Ryan Swope

Ryan-Swope-595x420.jpg

Andrew Luck is going to have a lot of easy completions between Reggie Wayne, Colby Fleener, Dewayne Allen and now Ryan Swope. Swope isn't a number 1 WR,but he's been extremely productive his whole college career and now he's playing the Wes Welker role for Luck. Offense looks awfully familiar though doesn't it? Two good TE's,a shifty slot WR. They have a good possession WR on the outside in Wayne and a guy who can stretch the field in Hilton

With the 88th Selection in the 2013 NFL Draft... The Green Bay Packers Select...

Trevardo Williams, OLB, Connecticut

ncf_a_williams_bl_600.jpg

Williams explodes off the line and exhibits a good and fluid bend to get around blockers thanks to his natural gift to rush the passer. He has a motor that never stops, which is great for tracking the play and stopping it from behind. He's got great speed, but remains a little undersized for the position. Won't come in and dominate right away, but will provide solid depth as he develops into the pass rusher and player that he is capable of becoming. There is no ceiling on his potential, he just needs the right system and coaches to ready him for the NFL game -- which is perfect, because the Packers won't be giving up on Nick Perry just yet.

If anything, this guarantees Erik Walden won't be returning -- which is a victory in and of itself.

With the 89th selection in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select:

Matt Barkley, QB, USC

MBarkley.jpg

My first pick is me taking the player who is by far the top player on my board. Maybe some team gets desperate for a QB and makes a move for him. This is really just ammo for the future, a future draft pick later for a position we might actually want. and if Peyton ever were to go down, I'd feel more comfortable with him out there than Brock Osweiler.

90th pick is on the trading block.

With the 90th selection in the 2013 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select:

Stepfan Taylor, RB, Stanford

Stepfan+Taylor+USC+v+Stanford+sGBRgE3dlEul.jpg

Pair him with Ronnie Hillman and our backfield is set for a long time. A big time producer in college, can catch out of the backfield and pass protect like a champ. Immediately helps out with the third reason we couldn't beat the Ravens, they took out our multidimensional runningback. How are you gonna take out three this year? It also means we can stop paying Lance Ball to be thoroughly mediocre.

With the 94th pick in the NFL draft the Superbowl champion Baltimore Ravens select :

tumblr_mg47x8tEu81qm9rypo1_1280.jpg

Jon Bostic

Middle Linebacker

University of Florida

This guy is a fuckin sledgehammer. He is an absolute monster coming downhill in the run game and along with the other defensive picks in the draft so far is going to make people remember the Ravens who were experts in street fights and slug fests. He plays downhill better than any LB in this draft and he can absolutely demolish the ball carrier. He uses his hands well and engages blockers at the point of attack. If you are not a lineman forget about it. He will stop lineman cold and allow others to make the tackle. If you are a fullback, TE, or RB, forget it. He was knocked for his speed coming out with people saying he lacked burst. WEll he dispelled that at the combine running the fastest in the 40, 3 cone drill, and 20 yard shuttle. He was also explosive in the broad jump and vertical so the pure athleticism is there. He will be tutored by one fo the best LB coaches in the league. He is a smart and vocal leader who gets his people in the right spots. Am I reminding somebody of anybody yet ? He is smart and knows how to cover in space and knows his assignments. This guy is may favorite ILB in the draft and is going to look great in purple in black. Baltimore is retooling the defense for an epic run.

With the 95th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select...

Vance McDonald: TE, Rice

img21599870.jpg

Depth at tight end was a stressful issue for the Texans last season. Since they converted James Casey to fullback, they truly only had two tight ends on the roster in an offense that runs a lot of two tight end sets. While McDonald isn't known to be the best blocker just yet, his skills as a receiver are exceptional. Yet again I am just trying to give this offense the last few pieces to make them an unstoppable force.

With the 97th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select..

Tyrann Mathieu, CB, LSU

tyrann-mathieu-078021420.jpg

Adding even more physicality to the secondary, going with Tyrann Mathieu with the last pick in the 3rd round makes a lot of sense for the Titans. After losing Cortland Finnegan to free agency, the Titans defense took a huge hit. Cortland Finnegan gave the Titans so much from the slot position. He was an elite CB in run support and shut down pretty much every receiver he came across in 2011. The Titans defense didn't have anyone who could make up for that lack of production from the slot position..and that's where Mathieu comes in.

He's the got the quickness to play run support and is physical enough to shut down most receivers in the slot. McCourty and Verner on the outside did a solid job last year, but we never could find anyone to shut down the inside. I'm not concerned with his size, as Finnegan showed with the right amount of physicality it can be overcome..which is Mathieu's exact mold. My only concern with him is his character issues, but the reports are he's matured. Either way, this much talent, and the reward that can come with him far outweighs the risk, especially when it's the last pick in the 3rd round. Mathieu can come in and make an impact from day 1 for the Titans defense.

With the 98th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select..

Quanterus Smith, DE/OLB (LEO), Western Kaintuck

5051f8b3d93dd.image.jpg

Jags get their future LEO. Text book LEO size, tall, long, with lots of comparisons to St. Louis' Robert Quinn. Despite missing three games in 2012, Smith still finished the season with 12.5 sacks (highest sack per game total in NCAA), including a three sack game against No. 1 ranked Alabama. Smith gave D.J. Fluker and Cyrus Kouandjio absolute fits the entire game because they couldn't get their hands on him. Like Tank Carradine he tore his ACL last year, but also like Carrardine he's not just a speed rush to the outside guy like say a Bjoern Werner. He doesn't let the offensive lineman get their hands on him. Smith does a good job swatting hands down and off his body, as well as ripping through as well as utilizing the swim move to get off the block and close on the quarterback. Smith shows nice bend getting around the edge and he shows good use of an inside-out counter move and at times tries an outside-in counter move. Coming out of the Sun Belt Conference would be a concern if not for Smith's production in games against good competition in 'Bama, Nebraska, and Kentucky, not to mention the NFL production transfer of guys like DeMarcus Ware. Popular opinion is Smith is a 3rd round prospect due to his talents, and could of moved up further if not for the ACL tear, so getting him in the 4th presents a match of good value at a position of need for the Jags.

Via Favre4Ever, with the 99th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select:

Quessenberry.jpg

David Quessenberry, T/G/C, San Jose State

There is nothing in this world that Ted Thompson loves more than a unheralded and versatile offensive lineman. Quessenberry is a solid but unspectacular prospect who has experience playing tackle, guard, and center.

Plug him in at center if Evan Dietrich-Smith either doesn't pan out or leaves in FA next year. Plug him in at guard if Josh Sitton or TJ Lang suffer an injury. Or plug him in at RT if Sherrod fails and Bulaga needs to be moved to LT.

Quessenberry being selected by Green Bay just seems natural.

The Oakland Raiders (Trident) are now on the clock.
