NY Diehard 26 Posted April 3, 2013 You can get a win by pitching worse than that though so a QS is harder than a win
blotsfan 2,112 Posted April 3, 2013 But you can also lose pitching better than that.

JetsFan4Life 542 Posted April 4, 2013 Indians I'll take 2-0.....I could've done with Perez not blowing the save though.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted April 4, 2013 Losing in 16 innings is an absolute buzzkill to open the season. Doesn't help that our closer is out and our stand-in blows the save in like the 12th inning. Loser. What awful pitching, all around, too. Holy crap. Mujica is like the only guy I can trust.
Sarge+ 3,436 Posted April 5, 2013 Rough first series for the bats. It's still early though and the temps were cold. Good pitching in the series, but it was against the Cubs lineup who also dealt with the cold. And we're only 3 games into a 162 game season. Can't analyze stuff now because ain't enough time for that shit yet. Although I do think Martin will have a positive impact on our pitching staff.
Piggly Wiggly 960 Posted April 5, 2013 A's face the Astros this weekend. Former A's prospect Brad Peacock is starting tonight. I've gotten rid of most of my baseball cards, but I still do have my Peacock card, though lawl.

Tridentdawgpound 1,043 Posted April 7, 2013 So...I'm gonna remember this game for the rest of my life. Down 5-1 after seven, score three in the 8th to pull it to 5-4. Then in the 9th, BJ leads it off with the tying home run then two batters later Justin finishes the job. Uptons, Uptons, and...Uptons.
Piggly Wiggly 960 Posted April 7, 2013 A's have scored 28 runs in their past four games after scoring 1 total run in their first two. Also, they're now in 1st place in the AL West.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted April 7, 2013 Thank God for Carlos Beltran. Meh start to the season for Shelby Miller. I thought he pitched pretty well -- but he obviously got tired going into the 6th, he threw a bunch of balls, walked too many and got pulled. Needs to work on finishing off at-bats. Too often he got ahead but let guys back into it which drove up his pitch count. Really solid 5 innings with one or two glaring mistakes which led to SF runs. Also nice to see El Hombre knock in a couple early on. To see yet another career long drought from him to start the season would have been painful.

Mathias 394 Posted April 8, 2013 lol^ The Astros are 1-5 vs. the AL West already. Anyway, we took 2 of 3 from the Angels this weekend, just in case you wanted to know, we still run the division.
