Kevin Kolb may have suffered career-ending concussion

Recommended Posts

Per Rotoworld.com:

The Buffalo News' Tim Graham reports the Bills fear Kevin Kolb's concussion may end his NFL career.

"And they're proceeding with that in mind," Graham writes. It's really not surprising because Kolb has suffered numerous NFL concussions and become increasingly slow to recover. The Bills are left with Matt Leinart, UDFA Jeff Tuel, and Thad Lewis behind E.J. Manuel, who is also on the shelf with a knee scope. The Bills are going to end up rushing back Manuel, in all likelihood, to start Week 1. Kolb signed a two-year, $6.1 million contract in March that contained $1 million guaranteed. He's likely headed for injured reserve. Aug 25 - 7:08 PM

Don't rush Manuel back, Tuel is the future in Buffalo. He's like Doug Flutie mixed with Jim Kelly.

The injury he suffered while walking to training camp was fucking hilarious. To think AZ traded two firsts for the guy

Direct TV should make more commercials.

Jeff Tuel has looked good enough to start at least 1 game if Manuel can't go. Not like the Bills are going anywhere this year anyways.

Well it was DRC and a 2nd that went to the Eagles. Not sure who ended up being the player from that pick the Eagles got. Either way, the Cardinals are a joke.

All reports since he got hurt were that he would more than likely be ready to go for Week 1 so I'm not sure they'd be rushing him back if he were to start opening day.

Ya that was maybe the biggest mistake the organization (besides signing Mr. Emmitt Smith) has ever made. DRC should be shouting down fields with Peterson, Wilson, and Kerry Rhodes if it was up to me ahaha. But the complete organization a joke? That would meen your boys are at the same level cause almost every Sunday AZ vs SF hit the same field its gonna be good ole smash mouth rivarly football, and you never really know whats going to happen.

You need to be more competitive first. :p

Nah, I could see the 49ers having an off day in Arizona.

This sucks for Kolb. His entire career has been injury plagued and he couldn't get a break. But the bright side is that he made a lot of money doing completely nothing.

Hopefully he doesn't suffer any permanent damage and he can go on to live a quality life. Like dutch said, he's got a lot of money so he should be good. He can just play golf and go back to the farm for the rest of his life lol.

Some notes from Doug Marrone's press conference today.

- Kolb will be "out for some time" but has not considered retirement.

- Bills are hoping Manuel will be ready to go vs. Patriots but are currently planning for Jeff Tuel to start Week 1

Speaking Monday, Bills coach Doug Marrone said Kevin Kolb (concussion) will focus on getting healthy before considering retirement.

Kolb has only officially been ruled out for Week 1, but he's expected to miss the entire season. Even if Kolb opts against retirement, his medicals might make the decision for him. Much like Jahvid Best and Laurent Robinson, he's going to struggle to find teams willing to clear him.

Its Tuel Time!

Seriously, when was the last time a UDFA rookie qb started week one?

Edit: Ah according to Bill Barnwell, its never.
