Turry 755 Posted October 2, 2013 The Cardinals have agreed to terms on a trade that will send LT Levi Brown to the Steelers. An overrated talent that was consistently short on performance, Brown finally exits the desert seven years after the Cardinals took him fifth overall. He started 79 games, failing to ever become an even moderately effective player. So far this season, Brown has graded out 60th among 72 of PFF's qualifying tackles. That said, he's an upgrade on current Pittsburgh LT Mike Adams -- especially in the run game. The 0-4 Steelers apparently have no intention of heading into all-out rebuilding mode as Brown is signed through 2016 and owed $6 million in 2014 base salary. seanbrock 1,684 Posted October 2, 2013 At least the Jags aren't the only ones making questionable decisions. Jags got something for a guy who was probably walking. They drafted a OT 2nd overall. The Jags have a lot of holes to fill and LT is a position where they have some depth. Gus Bradley needs to get himself a QB and he needs to add the pieces to build his defense. What better way to do that than to stock up on draft picks in a deep draft class? CribbsForTheWin 117 Posted October 3, 2013 So who got the better underwhelming high draft pick, Baltimore or Pittsburgh... honest question, I dont know much about either, but I feel like I'm gonna give the slight edge to Ravens, but just barely.

NaTaS+ 958 Posted October 3, 2013 Next up: Steeler sign a wet paper towel to compete for the starting LT job. Big Ben is not surprised. All that dude needs is an oline and he's a top 5 QB. Shit he's top 10 without a good oline and no running game to help.

BLUE 1,026 Posted October 15, 2013 Per Rotoworld.com: Steelers placed LT Levi Brown (triceps) on injured reserve, ending his season. The Steelers traded a conditional late-round pick to the Cardinals for Brown, making an effort to stabilize their tackle position. Brown never even played a down with Pittsburgh. He hurt his triceps while warming up ahead of the Week 6 win over the Jets -- sustaining the same injury to the same arm that cost him his 2012 season. The Steelers are praying Mike Adams can suddenly start performing better on Ben Roethlisberger's blind side. Oct 15 - 10:49 AM

Vin+ 3,121 Posted January 6, 2014 The Steelers have "no intention of keeping" OT Levi Brown. Brown never appeared in a game after the Steelers acquired him from the Cardinals in October, tearing his triceps in pre-game warmups ahead of Week 6. Cutting Brown will save the Steelers $6.25 million in salary cap space. Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
Turry 755 Posted February 13, 2014 The Steelers can save $6.25 million against the 2014 salary cap by releasing OT Levi Brown. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported last month that the Steelers had "no intention of keeping" Brown, so cutting him is a no-brainer. The Steelers are currently projected to be about $12 million over the salary cap. Other veterans who could be in trouble include S Troy Polamalu ($8.25 million savings) and CB Ike Taylor ($7 million). Pittsburgh can lower Ben Roethlisberger's $18.895 million cap hit by extending his contract. He's currently signed through 2015.
