southgadawg 52 Posted March 18, 2014 AL East Rays Yankees* Red Sox Orioles Blue Jays AL Central Tigers Royals* Indians White Sox Twins AL West Rangers Athletics Angels Mariners Astros cy Yu Darvish mvp Prince Fielder roy Nick Castellanos Homer Miguel Cabrerra batting Joe Mauer rbi Prince Fielder steals Jacoby Ellsbury I think the bosox will not quite put it all together like they did last year and barely miss the playoffs. I think the Royals finally put some things together and squeak into the playoffs. I think overall the AL West will be some improved parity-wise but I think the A's will regress enough to barely miss the playoffs. The addition of Choo will greatly help the Rangers offensive wise and they will win the west by at least 5 games. NL East Nationals Braves* Mets Marlins Phillies NL Central Cardinals Pirates Reds Brewers Cubs NL West Dodgers Diamondbacks* Giants Rockies Padres cy Clayton Kershaw mvp Bryce Harper roy Archie Bradley homers Curtis Granderson batting Joey Votto rbi's Freddie Freeman steals Billy Hamilton I think the loss of both Medlen and Beachy reduces the depth on the Braves enough that the already good team of the Nats will surpass them for the east lead. I also think that the Marlins will be dramatically improved over last season enough that they won't finish in the basement. In the Central I think the Pirates will regress just enough that they miss the playoffs and the reds simply across the board won't be as good (less offense and worse pitching). In the west the Dodgers will lead from April on. However things will click for the Diamondbacks but overall there is a tight race all the way up to the first part of september before the giants, rockies and padres finally fall back to be eliminated. southgadawg 52 Posted April 25, 2014 Don't feel too bad. The Diamondback pitching staff has totally imploded on them already and their front office's refusal to bring up Bradley doesn't make too much sense except from a super 2 standpoint. I had thought the d-backs would make some noise but so far all their key people are either struggling or injured (with the exception of Goldschmidt). I did think that Granderson would have a return to form but he hasn't did anything at all so far but I doubt seriously he has a chance to lead the NL in homers. The rest of my predictions although some are very questionable might still have some remote chances of happening.
Bucman 891 Posted April 26, 2014 Jose Abreu has been on fire. Ryan Braun for NL MVP
Tridentdawgpound 1,043 Posted April 26, 2014 Braun could hit 75 homers and bat .400 but the voters will not give him the MVP again.

We are roughly half way thru so I thought I'd revisit these predictions. Some are totally worthless now...Fielder getting injured, Bradley not getting to start the season, Granderson's slow start, the Rays and Diamondbacks terrible first halves and the Blue Jays and Brewer's great first halves among others.
