Free agent Peyton Manning signs with the Denver Broncos, completely altering the landscape of the AFC West and making the path to the playoffs much more difficult for the Knights. January 2014. Hours after beating the Patriots in the snow, players and coaches in the MedComm Center watch the Broncos beat the Colts in the Divisional Round, and next Sunday's game is set. Chapter 40 will be posted Friday; chapter 41 on Sunday. Ch. 40 - Here We Are Ch. 41 - Super Bowl XLVIII Hours after their victory in Denver, the Knights learn the outcome of the NFC Championship Game, and their final opponent of the year is set: Knights vs. Seahawks for the Super Bowl. The team gets a week of practice in Los Angeles before traveling to the Meadowlands. The front office looks ahead to the offseason with the Senior Bowl approaching. Cooper keeps an eye on the spread for the big game. Javad arranges travel to be in New Jersey for media week. During media day, Knights players and coaches endure hours of interviews, and there is at least one buzzworthy response. Part III has been the most work yet (199 pages and 72,000 words), but it's been worth it for me; I hope it has been worth reading for all of you. If anybody has questions/suggestions about how Part IV should go down for their character or the series in general, please don't hesitate to PM me. SteVo+ 3,702 Posted September 14, 2015 Sorry, no Part IV teasers just yet. We're still some time away from that, though I am very excited about what I have written so far. Instead I wanted to post some nuggets about Part III you guys may or may not appreciate. This also includes a potentially significant statement about the future of KoA. Carry on. For the most part, Part III went down exactly how it was originally planned to. The Knights were supposed to start slow, go on a huge run, and reach the Super Bowl only to lose. The first version had them getting blown out (just like the Broncos did in real life), but I eventually decided to make it a close game. I did also consider the Knights winning the game, but only briefly. Part of the reason I shifted to 10 regular season chapters is because I knew the Knights would make the playoffs, and I didn't want too many chapters in one season. There were 14 chapters in Part II and I thought that was a reasonable cap. So the first outline of the playoff chapters merged the Bengals and Patriots game into a chapter called "The American Dream" that starts at halftime of the Bengals game with the Knights up big. Eventually, however, I decided this was too fast, and we would be missing some cool playoff aspects I could write in, and so the chapter got split up into what became "January" and "Foxborough Snow," and Part III totaled 15 chapters. One last-second idea to avoid going over 14 was to have the Knights lose in the AFCCG, but a) I was really excited about the pre-SB chapter "Here We Are," and b) I couldn't resist writing another Peyton choke. Going back to Part II, I did consider an ending where despite the Knights' collapse, Schneider refrains from firing Daniel on the condition that he start the next season on the hot seat. I'm not sure how that would have played out, because realistically, that might have meant the end of Harden, and towards the end of Part II, I realized he was arguably the series' best character, and I couldn't get rid of him. I came up with so many off-the-field storyline ideas for Part III that the narrative quickly became overcrowded, and quite a few of those storylines got pushed back to Part IV. At least one of those will probably get pushed to Part V. Speaking of Part V... As of now, the master plan is for KoA to end after six seasons. The original idea was seven, but I think I'd run out of steam during the sixth or seventh. If everything goes according to the current plan, each season should be engaging and just unique enough to keep things interesting until the end. 4 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

At the top, when you write "based on characters by:" can you write in parentheses what their character is called? Maybe it isn't all that important but idk who the fuck is Anthrax/D-Jam/Everett etc. lmao. The only ones I know are my guy, Rose, Zack's character, and Mav. Edit- Just read the super bowl one. Since then, just 5 of 31 Super Bowl losers have returned the following year, and it hasn't happened since 1994. In the last decade, Super Bowl losers have averaged a 9-7 record the following season, with half of them making the playoffs, three winning a game, but none reaching the Super Bowl again.
