Ok, we're at the unofficial halfway-but-maybe-not-halfway point: five chapters down, five to go before the playoffs. The Knights are sitting at 3-3, but the standings show them very much in the wild card hunt. Be sure to check the stats to see just how much the passing game balled out in London.

Teaser & Standings:

Ch. 61 - Uneasy Lies

The Knights face two AFC North opponents after their bye week, a home game against Cincinnati where Harden coaches against Tom Everett and a trip to Pittsburgh for Thursday Night Football. Tensions rise between Harden and McKenzie. Javad begins his plan to get back at Phillips. The league's trade deadline causes some front office drama. Wilkes suffers when an old secret resurfaces. Watson tries to conquer his stuttering problem.

We got good stuff lined up this week, as Friday's chapter tips the scales at over 6,000 words (the 6th KoA chapter to cross that threshold, for those keeping score at home). Remember that while we're halfway through the regular season, we only have four regular season chapters left!

Teaser & Standings:

Ch. 62 - The Line That Divides

The Knights confront the possibility of a divided locker room, with two NFC North battles on the horizon: a trip to Detroit, and a home game against Minnesota. Wilkes continues to dodge his reading issues. Injuries start piling up. Farmers Field prepares to host Super Bowl 50.

Sorry I'm a few days late, though I'm not sure anyone reads these. :( Three regular-season chapters to go.

Teaser & Standings:

Ch. 63 - Beverly Park

Consecutive wins have brought the Knights to 6-4, but next they face back-to-back primetime games: the division rival Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, and a Super Bowl XLIX rematch with the Packers on Monday Night Football. The front office looks toward the offseason, particularly the precarious situation with Flash. Phillips goes on the offensive in the war of attrition with Javad. Bishop's plan to combat the locker room divide is put into motion.

Two regular-season chapters left. Playoff push time! Be sure to check out the standings to see where the Knights stand. And there's lots of good stuff in the stats as well. Wilkes and Watson are about to go over 1,000 yards on the season, Bishop is on pace to fall just short of that mark, Grantzinger is close to double-digit sacks, etc.

Teaser & Standings:

Ch. 64 - Final Warning

First up on the Knights' December schedule is a road trip to Indianapolis for a potential Wild Card Round preview, then a monumental game: Malik Rose and the Chargers come to Farmers Field. Flash looks ahead to the offseason. The front office prepares for relocation bids to Los Angeles. The Phillips vs. Javad conflict comes to a head. Cooper and Sampson re-enter the narrative in what it ends up being a consequential conversation.

Alright, down to the final regular season chapter of Part V. You guys know the drill: Knights miss the playoffs and it's over, they make it and we get a Wild Card chapter next week. (The Broncos have already clinched the West, so the Knights can't get a bye.)

Teaser & Standings:

Ch. 65 - Treatment

Closing out the Knights' regular season are consecutive divisional road games to Denver and Kansas City. Javad's story puts the Knights on the defensive, but Phillips goes on the offensive with Schneider. Maverick must confront Harden about dating Trisha. The Knights brace for a second franchise in Los Angeles.

Announcement:

First, just to be clear, Part V is over. The Knights miss the playoffs. The season is over. Regarding Part VI...

Barring any sudden changes, Part VI will indeed be the final season of Knights of Andreas. There was a lenghty gap between the conclusion of Part IV and Part V's debut because I wanted to take my time in planning out the conclusion of the series. So far, everything is going according to plan.

I don't have a date for Part VI's first chapter yet, but you'll be happy to know I've already written a good chunk of it and outlined the entire thing.

And so we wait...

Here are the slashes for TEs who made the Pro Bowl IRL 2015:

Tyler Eifert: 52/615/13

Delanie Walker: 94/1008/6

Travis Kelce: 72/875/5

Gary Barnidge: 79/1043/9

So, I'll put this out there to you guys...where does this season rank, for you, as readers?

As a writer I think I could confidently say 4 > 3 > 2 > 1, but I'm not sure where to place 5.

5 is equal to 4 for me. Some absolutely brilliant writing and some of your best was in 5 even though the Knights fell apart.

Gonna throw this out there, as it's one of the major decisions I'm facing regarding Part VI...

Epilogue or nah?

Part VI is going to cover the 2016 season. The concept for the epilogue would be a summary of the next ten-ish years, just detailing how the Knights did record-wise with this core of players. So, do you guys want that, or would you prefer the narrative to end after this season, leaving the 2017 season and beyond to our imagination?
