Piggly Wiggly 960 Posted June 18, 2014 The Thunder, assuming Ibaka was healthy, would have dismantled the Heat nearly as badly as SAS did, IMO. No. Dallas could have beaten them Nah. Memphis would have given them one hell of a series. Maybe. The Heat were not as good as you're making them out to be. They were the 2nd best team in the league. Also there's this. For someone claiming the NBA is going down the drain, this finals was actually more watched per game than last years: http://www.nba.com/2014/news/06/16/nba-finals-game-5-ratings.ap/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpts So fucking what about the ratings? lol. People were intrigued by the rematch and whether the Heat could three-peat. Of course it's gonna draw huge ratings. Big ratings doesn't mean that the NBA isn't dog shit, though. Thanatos 2,847 Posted June 19, 2014 Neither does your opinion that the recent finals were bad when they werent. And no, IMO, the Heat were not the second-best team in the league, not clear-cut at least. Its arguable, easily, that there were three other teams in the West that could have taken them. blotsfan 2,112 Posted June 19, 2014 I dunno, the main reason the Spurs won was because they had an amazing strategy and a crazy-deep bench. I don't think theres another team that combines the two as well as the Spurs.
The Admiral 28 Posted June 26, 2014 What would be great for NBA fans is this: The big 3 breaks up, and Tim Duncan retires. It would ensure a new champion, not to mention new conference representatives in next year's Finals. Tim Duncan retiring from the NBA would not be great for NBA fans. One of the stupidest things I have heard, regardless of what fan it is from. He is still playing great ball at age 38. We need the world to continue to appreciate this form of dominance because it doesn't roll around very often. It is nearing the end for Timmy, but it sure as hell won't be a positive thing in any sense for the NBA community once he retires. :allhail: Timmy
