Wattafan 28 Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) Texan's 2nd year O lineman David Quessenberry was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma this week, a cancer of the blood. After sitting out his rookie season with a knee injury, he was diagnosed this week after developing a cough. What a tough break for this young man - may he beat this thing quickly and return to his normal life. Edited June 10, 2014 by Wattafan
Vin+ 3,121 Posted June 10, 2014 Hope he's able to pull through. Texans G/T David Quessenberry's cancer is expected to require 4-6 months of treatment, and he will miss the entire season. According to cancer specialist Dr. Jack Jacoub, Quessenberry is dealing with a "life-threatening form" of high-grade lymphoma. It's shattering news for a 2013 sixth-rounder who missed his entire rookie season with a broken foot. This fight will be much tougher, but Quessenberry has youth (24 in August) and being a world-class athlete on his side. Here's to a complete recovery. Wattafan 28 Posted June 11, 2014 Hope he's able to pull through. His prognosis is positive due to his youth, strength and fitness. It just depends on how far advanced it is now and that news could be some time before it is released.
OSUViking 505 Posted June 11, 2014 I've been told that lymphoma was an easily treatable form of cancer because it's generally easy to detect it. Regardless, prayers for him and for a speedy recovery. Very unfortunate news.
FartWaffles 1,857 Posted June 11, 2014 Was sad to hear this news. I felt like Qberry had a legitimate shot at unseating Derek Newton for the starting right tackle job. Depth on the Texans' o-line was already thin enough as it is... He's had such a rough start to his NFL career. Truck gets stolen, breaks foot, and now diagnosed with cancer. I wish him a speedy recovery. Situations like this really puts it into perspective about football being just a game.

Vin+ 3,121 Posted February 25, 2015 Texans G/T David Quessenberry (lymphoma) revealed on Wednesday that he finished radiation two weeks ago and is now in remission. "I love saying that," Quessenberry continued. "I'm starting into my maintenance phase." Excellent news. Quessenberry was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma last June and missed the entire 2014 season. It's still unclear what this means for his football future, but we're glad to hear Quessenberry is doing well. Source: David Nuno on Instagram
FartWaffles 1,857 Posted February 25, 2015 Best news I've heard in a long time! I'd be so pumped for him if he's able to return to the football field, but more importantly I'm just glad and relieved that he has his health.
Vin+ 3,121 Posted June 9, 2015 The Texans believe G/T David Quessenberry (lymphoma) could play in 2015. Diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma one year ago, Quessenberry missed the entire 2014 season undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. He's now working out and attending team meetings at the Texans' facility before pushing sleds and doing individual drills on side fields at practices. Doctors have yet to clear him to play football, but coach Bill O'Brien thinks it could happen this year. Source: houstontexans.com
BwareDWare94 723 Posted June 9, 2015 Good for him. I'm always grateful when we get to hear about news like this instead of the lesser fortunate kind.
