BLUE 1,026 Posted August 2, 2014 (edited) Per Rotoworld.com: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports 49ers NT Glenn Dorsey is out for the season with a torn bicep. Dorsey suffered the injury during practice Friday. It is another tough injury blow for the 49ers, and leaves the team very thin at nose tackle. With Ian Williams still sidelined after breaking his ankle Week 2 last season, Mike Purcell is the only true nose left on the roster, though Quinton Dial, Demarcus Dobbs and Tony Jerod-Eddie can fill in as well. The 49ers may look to bring in outside help. Aug 2 - 2:19 PM Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter A source tells CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco that "it's undetermined" if Glenn Dorsey (biceps) will miss the entire season. This conflicts with a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, who said that Dorsey has already been ruled out for the year. Dorsey will continue to be evaluated over the next few days before a decision is made. It's possible he could be placed on I.R./designated for return. With Ian Williams (ankle) out indefinitely, Quinton Dial, Demarcus Dobbs and Tony Jerod-Eddie are candidate for snaps at nose tackle. BLUE 1,026 Posted August 20, 2014 Per Rotoworld.com: 49ers signed NT Glenn Dorsey to a two-year extension through 2016. It's odd timing, as Dorsey appears poised to miss the 2014 season with a torn biceps. It could be a ploy to spread out his $2.3 million salary over the next three years. FOX's Mike Garofolo suggests the Niners are simply "buying low" on the ex-Chiefs first-rounder. Dorsey appeared in all 16 games last season, starting 13. He's never emerged as a pass-rush threat, but is an able run plugger. Aug 19 - 7:04 PM Source: Matt Maiocco on Twitter
