.AirMcNair. 1,232 Posted December 23, 2014 Colin McCarthy (There's potential here, the Titans are just squandering it) Any potential he might have had has been destroyed by injuries. He's not looked anything close to how he did his rookie season since the injuries started piling up. Re-sign: OT Michael Roos - Need a right tackle, rumor is Roos would be willing to move to RT. OT Byron Stingily - Good depth at tackle. DE Karl Klug - Good depth. OLB Derrick Morgan - He's an average 3-4 olb, but that'll just have to do for now. K Ryan Succop - He's good, no need to let him go and create an extra need. P Brett Kern - Read above LS Beau Brinkley - Read above Releases worth noting: OG Andy Levitre - Fuckin bum. S Michael Griffin - Fuckin bum. My extremely unlikely to happen FA wishlist: OG Orlando Franklin or OG Mike Iupati - Please don't be a bum like Levtire became. S Rahim Moore - Please don't be a bum like Griffin became OLB Justin Houston - The only great talent on our D right now is Casey. Course, none of those guys even if not retained by their team would want to come play for this shit tier franchise.

On your resign list I would omit Dent and add Brandon Spikes. I would also like to see Mark ingram come in to help out with the running duties. I would also trade in Daniel Manning for a newer model. Byron Maxwell would be nice to have but would cost a packet so the draft will have to be the go. Marcus Peters is the best CB in the draft. I wonder what Raji would cost us? FartWaffles 1,857 Posted December 26, 2014 On your resign list I would omit Dent and add Brandon Spikes. Dent has come on strong as of late, and is a good special teamer. Marcus Peters is the best CB in the draft. That may be so, but he's a huge character risk which guarantees the Texans won't even have him on their draft board. Personally I'm a big fan of Trae Waynes. I wonder what Raji would cost us?

Pretty much agree with this from top to bottom, except for one thing. I think Julius Thomas is expendable, and if we have to bid him adieu in order to lockdown Von, DT, and T-Knight, then I'm fine with that. Virgil Green is very capable as a pass catcher, but we rarely see him given that opportunity just for that fact that he is such an effective blocker. Since Manning is most certainly coming back for 2015, my big fear here is that we overpay to keep Juice because Manning loves him, and it cripples us somewhere else. He's obviously become one of the best pass-catching big men in the league, but that's unfortunately where his talent ends. I will say though that we are in fairly good cap position, and Mr. Elway has done wonders with contracts and signings since he's taken over. With that in mind, with a potential shakeup in San Fran on the horizon, I wouldn't mind giving an offer to Mike Iupati when we let Franklin walk. I read on rotoworld that he is likely done with the team either way. There's a certain amount of expense there, but he's still young and I think it's important that we lock down another cornerstone offensive lineman for the post-manning era. Dent has looked good and Waynes is very likely Texans R1 pick. I wonder what it would take to get Dan Williams in here...I really like Danny Shelton if we can't get a decent NT. Here's hoping Nix gets his head out of his ass. Edited December 27, 2014 by Wattafan
BC 331 Posted December 27, 2014 Resign Bobby Wagner. You saw us go and get gashed on the ground without Wagner in the lineup by Dallas and St. Louis. KJ Wright is a decent fill-in but its not the position he's used to. Wagner might be the 1B behind Kuechly. You already can't pass on us, but with Wagner in the lineup, its basically game over. There's not a lot you can do in a ground game with the guy on the field. When we handle the Rams at home this week and you wonder how the tables turned from our road loss at St. Louis, consider the difference in the middle of the field. Bruce Irvin. Guy has matured so much this year and become a presence in the passing defense. I would sacrifice resigning him in order to retain Bobby because of how much a healthy Bobby means, but Bruce has been a wonderful luxury to have this year. If you want to watch the difference in his play since his improvement, watch him suck in the San Diego game and then come into his own starting with the road win at Carolina. Russell Wilson. Not a conventional quarterback, but an improvisational master using footwork and visual deceptions to keep defenses off-balance just enough to turn small opportunities into big drive/game extending plays despite average to above-average targets. Negates the need for a true #1 WR. Byron Maxwell. Yes, a little overrated due to playing with world-beaters, but his aggressive style fits in the system extremely well. Great tackling CB2. Understands the appropriate level of risk to take given the packages and support around him. Anticipates the QBs picking on him with the #1 WR away from Sherm and does a sound job when healthy. If the price is right he's a no-brainer keeper. James Carpenter. Not the impact expected from a 2nd round Alabama pick but showed he cared enough to lose a truckload of weight this offseason and buy into the championship work ethic. He's been an above average right guard with Sweezy having a breakout year on the left.
