What will Nate Irving's signing do for the Colts ? We need help at safety !

I had really high hopes for Nate when he was drafted. He had a great story of determination coming out of that car accident at NC State. We had some interest in re-signing him but I guess we never made the offer. Just another talented FA that we let walk this year.

 

I think he is definitely the Colts' starter at MLB this year, however Nate has his limitations as mostly a 2-down run-stuffer. He will struggle in coverage assignments that require him to cross the field. I don't supposed that is going to change coming off the knee surgery.

 

I'm sure he will recover from the knee no problem. He recovered from a separated shoulder, collapsed lung, broken ribs, and a compound fractured leg after this:

 

He'll be fine.
