SteVo+ 3,702 Posted September 13, 2015 This is an annual staple of football season at TGP. Either blow off some steam or tell us why your team is going to the Super Bowl.
BC 331 Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) Dion Bailey falling down when allowing the Foles pass to Lance Kendricks to allow St. Louis to tie the game right after Cary Williams strip-sacked Foles for the go-ahead TD. Then there was a really weird decision to onside kick in overtime, which Pete Carroll in the post-game interview was supposed to be a "pooch kick" and, and onside kick was in fact not called by the coaches. Let's dissect the final play of the game. Consider the circumstances in the game, rather than what happened at the SB's end, because if the perception from the 2nd & goal play in SB49 is that the lesson to be learned is that we run Marshawn in any case where we need a short gain, I think that is incorrect. From watching the whole game, the one aspect in which the Rams were dominating today was the play of their defensive line, especially Aaron Donald on our starting center, Novak. Marshawn was having some good runs today, but for the most part he wasn't dominating, and several occasions prior to that moment in the game, Lynch had already been stuffed. Not at all saying I want us to do a certain type of play call every time its Last Play of the Game & Short, but don't play to the strengths of the opponent. All day Aaron Donald was ripping shit up in the middle. Janoris Jenkins was hurt and out the game, I don't even know their other secondary guys. Let those scrubs try to save the game for them, don't even give Aaron Donald that chance. In the SB Baldwin and Chris Mathews were the best options. Today there was a play to be made there for either Tyler Lockett or Jimmy. Therefore, quick passes seems like the way to beat the Rams when you need a play. I still see this as a 12-4 team, but a close divisional loss like this on the road was likely even if it was right there. Cherry 1,302 Posted September 14, 2015 One of the greatest d-lines in NFL history on paper. Absolutely nasty in the trenches. I don't have much faith in that offense, but holding Marshawn Lynch to like 80 yards on 20ish attempts is absolutely insane. Gurley comes back and this may be a team that others will be afraid to play. daylight game. Consistent with Bengals usual plan. Win convincingly (4 scores or more) then back off the pedal. We'll see how they look when they face a good opponent in primetime.

RazorStar 4,025 Posted September 14, 2015 Our defense is gonna need to carry us if we want to continue winning. Peyton looked like a rookie out there.
theMileHighGuy 656 Posted September 14, 2015 Defense. Potentially the best in the league, top and bottom. Gonna have to keep it that way to keep limp dick Rick in the games.
oochymp 2,393 Posted September 14, 2015 We were firing on all cylinders and we were playing a shitty team, I'm hoping this game says as much about us as it says about Tampa, because I think it said a lot about Tampa
blotsfan 2,112 Posted September 14, 2015 Our defense was great. Absolutely shut down Luck for most of the game. That was without Dareus as well. We really should be a great defense again. Our offense was pretty good. Disappointing game for McCoy, but hopefully thats just him not being 100%. We'll need him to be better. Taylor mostly did short passes (barring his bomb to Harvin) but he was composed and played a good game. Had a few nice runs as well. Of course, Indy is kind of a soft team. Lets see how it goes when we play New England this week.

Dutch 874 Posted September 14, 2015 Said in the pick em that I could see the Bills winning. Had the gut feeling but let my Luck bias win over. That Bills defense is suffocating. Was last year and now they have Rex Ryan. Tyrod Taylor was solid. Managed the game well and made a few good plays. McCoy sucked against a soft Colts defense. A lot of shake and bake but getting no where.

PackIsBack 124 Posted September 14, 2015 Per usual, the Packers offense carried the team. The defense appeared undisciplined and sloppy with several missed tackles, unnecessary penalties, poor coverage in the passing game, and Forte had a field day with our run defense. I wonder year in and year out why we keep Capers around... There are a lot of improvements that need to be made specifically on the defensive side of the ball otherwise we'll have a rough week next week against Seattle. DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted September 14, 2015 Jeez where do I start? I hated the Lions OC last year, and I hate him through one game. Defense got worn out because terrible offense was terrible.
FartWaffles 1,857 Posted September 14, 2015 -Hoyer couldn't game manage. (Turnovers in own territory) -Play calling. (48 passes/20 rushes) -Suspect o-line protection. -Over pursuing defensively against a team that was clearly trying to hurt you in the screen game. -Secondary struggles against speed guys. -Crucial missed calls by the refs. -Couldn't pound the rock on a critical 4th and inches attempt. -O'Brien didn't yank Hoyer out of the game soon enough. -Lackluster onside kick attempt. DBR96A 87 Posted September 14, 2015 Four bad breaks created a 17-point swing: 1. Josh Scobee's first missed FG attempt (lose three points) 2. Josh Scobee's second missed FG attempt (lose three points) 3. Darrius Heyward-Bey stepping out of bounds in the end zone (settled for FG; lose four points) 4. Defense failing to recover a forced fumble near their goal line (lose seven points) Regardless of what Tom Brady or Rob Gronkowski did, if even two of those four bad breaks went the Steelers' way, the game would have been winnable, and if three or more did, then the Steelers more than likely would have pulled off the upset. BJORN 679 Posted September 14, 2015 - Secondary mostly shutdown the Lions wideouts and TEs. - Finally looked to have an effective pass rush led by Melvin Ingram, really got after Stafford. - KEENAN ALLEN
seanbrock 1,684 Posted September 15, 2015 (edited) Falcons were the better team all shit talk aside. Bradford can't throw the ball down field. Opposing defenses are going to take notice and this could be a long year. This is going to be a big problem. It's only week one, but the Eagles are in trouble. Hopefully our secondary issues are in large part Julio Jones just being an absolute beast. Credit to the new Falcons coaching staff for cooking up an excellent game plan. Quinn and little Shanny knew exactly how to play us and we could complete the come back after we got rocked in the first half. BwareDWare94 723 Posted September 15, 2015 The Vikings lost because... --Their supposedly great DL completely disappeared. --Teddy Bridgewater did his best Christian Ponder impression --The offensive line was awful, with the exception of Matt Kalil, who is healthy and looks great. --It's week 1 and Mike Wallace is already quitting on routes. --Coaching decisions like having Rhett Ellison in on a passing down, resulting in a drop when either Rudolph or Pruitt would have caught it. --Dumb playcalling that didn't adjust to what San Francisco was doing. You'd never know it was Norv Turner pulling these ropes. --We just flat out sucked.
Maverick 791 Posted September 15, 2015 - Romo activated clutch mode - Giants stupidity - Our D played well considering the turnovers we gave up on offense. It was a weird game. Cowboys were practically begging the Giants to run away with it all night, but they didn't take advantage.
