RazorStar 4,025 Posted January 24, 2016 Our defense was fire tonight, stopping Gronk is a challenge in itself, so I'm not surprised he pulled those two catches in the last drive out of his ass, but aside from that we were in Brady's face the whole game, forced a few turnovers and made key stops at nearly every point in the game. We needed an A game from our defense and we got it. Peyton got his points early, and we had Gostkowski miss a major XP. Luck was a big factor in this game, but we executed our strategy to near perfection. Broncos are super bowl bound! Let's see who we get slaughtered by, Carolina or Arizona? Piggly Wiggly 960 Posted January 24, 2016 Now we all get to watch PeyPey & Co. get shit on again in the Super Bowl, which is almost as good as a Pats SB victory. Feels good man.

BradyFan81 404 Posted January 25, 2016 http://data.whicdn.com/images/73028786/original.jpg Gonna put my spin on this and say nothing is more hurtful than losing in the SB, so at least I have that to still hope for for Denver. And we won last year so I can't be that upset.
Piggly Wiggly 960 Posted January 25, 2016 Whoever said the thing earlier about Phil being emo, then later coming in and acting aloof and uncaring after they lose hit the fuckin' mark. Where was I being emo? I was at a bar for the majority of the game lol. I had a good time too, especially watching the last drive, despite the end result. Don't get it twisted, it's disappointing not winning, but they're coming off a SB victory and there's a good chance they'll make a record setting 6th straight AFCCG next season. Tough to have much to complain about.
Maverick 791 Posted January 25, 2016 Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback in NFL history. That game cements it. Nobody else would be even close with that kind of OL performance against a defense as good as Denver's. Here comes the Peyton jerkfest though. Really Chern, that's your prediction? Did you forget you were on TGP? Even if Five Head played lights out (which he didn't), there would never be a "Peyton jerkfest".

oochymp 2,393 Posted January 25, 2016 Time for some monday morning head coaching, should the Patriots have kicked a field goal on fourth down trailing by 8 with six minutes left? Full disclosure, at the time I said going for it was a good call, so I don't know how much room I have to second guess the decision. That said, New England ended up in the redzone two more times and they did get a TD at the end, which would have won it if they'd kicked the field goal earlier. Now, there's certainly room for debate in that Denver might not have played the same way with a five point lead that they did with an eight point lead, so maybe the game unfolds differently, but I thought it was a close call between kicking the field goal and going for the fourth and one. I thought it was a good call. Denver's defense was playing great. You finally get the ball deep into Denver territory and only need one yard for the first down. Who knows if you'll be able to drive down the field again because even if you kick the FG, you'll still need a TD on your next possession to win the game. BradyFan81 404 Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) Nah going for it was 100% the right call, on both occasions. The game came down to their pass rush dominating our O-line while just rushing 3 and 4. If 5 linemen can't consistently keep a clean pocket against 3 or 4 rushers you're gonna lose. On Sunday, Phillips put the blitz packages away, and it flummoxed the Pats. The Broncos blitzed on just 16.4 percent of Brady's dropbacks. That's a lower blitz rate than any Phillips-led defense has attempted in more than eight years, dating back to Week 9 of the 2007 season, when Phillips was in his first year as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. After rushing three men just 30 times all season, Phillips sent a mere three-man rush on 14 dropbacks versus Brady on Sunday, with the star Patriots quarterback going 4-of-13 for 41 yards with a sack, an interception and a passer rating of just 9.5. Altogether, the Broncos were able to pressure Brady on 31.1 percent of his dropbacks. That's the highest pressure rate on Brady in the playoffs since Super Bowl XLII, when the Giants upset the Patriots with a similarly blitz-averse scheme and pressured Brady on 33.3 percent of his passing plays. And even they managed to hit Brady only nine times across his 53 dropbacks during that game. The Broncos got Brady 20 times in 60 dropbacks yesterday afternoon. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14642395/gary-kubiak-wade-phillips-dialed-gem-get-bill-belichick-tom-brady-nfl Edited January 26, 2016 by BradyFan81
Vin+ 3,121 Posted January 26, 2016 Peyton Manning told Bill Belichick this season "might be my last rodeo" on the field after the AFC Championship Game. Manning and Belichick did not discuss what was said after the game, but NFL Network audio picked up Manning's side of the conversation. "Hey, listen, this might my last rodeo," Manning said. "So, it sure has been a pleasure." Manning has already admitted he is considering retirement, and it is very likely the Super Bowl will be his final game regardless of the result. Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted January 26, 2016 Sunday was a rough game for Tom Brady. By the time the game ended, he sported bruises, cuts, skinned elbows, burst blisters -- and, oh yeah, a near-miss with an anonymous set of Denver's family jewels. "I tried to lay on him a few times," an unnamed Broncos rusher said after the game. "I tried to rub my nuts on his face." Just who that rusher was -- cough cough Von Miller cough cough cough cough -- we may never know. http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2016/1/26/10834238/broncos-rusher-tom-brady-family-jewels that's how you play football gentleman.
