LB Sean Spence reunites with Dick LeBeau

Recommended Posts

Titans signed ILB Sean Spence, formerly of the Steelers, to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.

Spence reunites with ex-Steelers DC Dick LeBeau in Tennessee. He was a 2012 third-rounder but missed his first two seasons after suffering a gruesome knee injury after he was drafted. Spence will compete to start next to ILB Avery Williamson and pitch in on special teams covering kicks and punts.

I had high hopes for Sean Spence, maybe the Titans will help him turn it around.

"compete to start next to Avery Williamson"

Where do these tards get their info?

Woodyard is pretty clearly the starter opposite of Avery Williamson right now and there's 0% chance that Spence starts over him for any reason other than injury.

Spence is brought in for depth and ST reasons solely.

It's a good sign for the purpose of depth, special teams contribution, and scheme familiarity with LeBeau's defense.

You have to think he gets on the field for defense at some point for $2.5 million tho don't you?

Always loved this guy. He was small coming out, but he has a nose for the ball and he's a hard worker. I thought his career was over for sure after that injury and nearly shed a tear the first time he started a game. He rotated in quite a bit and played well when he did.

Sure. Every special teams play and on defense if Woodyard or Williamson ever need a breather or are injured.

Which I appreciate, because god knows our special teams needs help.
