RazorStar 4,025 Posted April 20, 2016 The classic all QB offense, let's get it!
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted April 20, 2016 So, you give Bradford $22 mil guaranteed with his new deal, you give Chase Daniel $12 mil guaranteed, and then you swap this year's first, third, and fourth round picks, in addition to next year's 1st, and a 2nd in 2018, for the #2 pick this year and a 4th, all to take....another QB? It's the Eagles. Questioning their logic will only hurt your brain.
oochymp 2,393 Posted April 21, 2016 Which was last year's 1st and 2nd round picks and this year's first. Which might have been the opening offer this year then they didn't get a hard no and negotiated
BucD+ 648 Posted April 21, 2016 I am sure the Eagles did their homework and they probably even spoke to the Rams... BUt by making this trade, are they saying they are okay with whoever falls to them regardless of it being Goff or Wentz? It appears that way. They must be good to go with either guy. butta54 371 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) I would be COMPLETELY surprised if the Rams actually talked to the Eagles about their plan. My guess is the Eagles settled in on the idea of either Goff or Wentz and made the trade blind. Edited April 21, 2016 by butta54

butta54 371 Posted April 21, 2016 Teams don't usually operate that way. Even if the two GMs were cool, I don't see the rest of the FO and ownership too happy with helping out other teams for no reason.
BwareDWare94 723 Posted April 21, 2016 Both teams are going to get a franchise QB out of their trades. Nevertheless, each player fits significantly better with one of the teams (Goff w/ Philly, Wentz w/ LA). I think that's how the picks will go, too. Wentz to Rams. Goff to Eagles. Yes, they are secretive, but there are a million moving parts and if there are guys like Adam Schefter who can get that information, I think you (general sense) would be daft to think other teams can't get that information. Also teams "help" one another much more than you lead on. Especially when Team A is at no risk whatsoever. There is no harm in helping or informing other teams of stuff like this. Cherry 1,302 Posted April 21, 2016 If Wentz gets thrown into the fire behind that Rams OL he is gonna get banged up. Mark my words
DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted April 21, 2016 Wentz is a big guy... That isn't particularly a bad thing....

Getting information from sources and having the GMs call each other up and tell them what they are doing are two completely different scenarios. Of course people can try and get information on other teams. I'm saying I don't believe they just talked it out buddy buddy to help Philly decide on a trade. And with the draft things get very shady. Rams could easily say we aren't helping out any NFC team with anything. I don't think that is outrageous to say. You look at it one way (which is fine) and I look at it a different. I just personally would be shocked if the Rams were just an open door for the Eagles in the trade. I think it is much more likely the Eagles said we will take either QB and made the trade. oochymp 2,393 Posted April 21, 2016 Oh, and since I did it with the Titans' trade: based on our mock game Philly got Jared Goff (#2 pick) and a 2017 4th rounder, Cleveland got Laremy Tunsil (#8 pick) Jeremy Cash (#77, drafted by Cincy in the mock) Christian Hackenberg (#100, drafted by Baltimore) a 2017 1st round and a 2018 2d rounder

Oh ya, totally. Nobody is saying GMs get in on a conference call and divulge all of their plans. Team A doesn't get Team B on the phone and say "Who are you picking?" and Team B doesn't say flatly, "Goff is our guy" -- actually, I bet it happens like that sometimes but not all the time. But like I mentioned, Adam Schefter gets his information from somewhere. Those same people have sources all around the league and having lower lower level employees talk to one another between franchises. That information then makes it's way up to the relevant parties. You have to keep your ear to the ground as an NFL franchise and can't risk living in a bubble of solitude.Information is power. And again, I have no idea about this situation in particular. But I don't think the Eagles trade up if they didn't at least think they knew how the Rams were leaning. As I mentioned previously, I am sure they are comfortable with either, but you, me, and the rest of the league know they have their preference. Howie Roseman has said that he is "very sure" the Eagles are getting the player they want. And when asked how he can feel that way without knowing for sure who the Rams will pick he told reporters to "connect the dots". Later on in the presser, a reporter asked if the Eagles will try to get the Rams pick for certain in which Roseman said, " We have a good relationship with the Rams, so we will talk to them". Everything points to communication between the two teams, which is neither shocking or new. Edited April 21, 2016 by Favre4Ever
BwareDWare94 723 Posted April 21, 2016 So is everyone that isn't Wentz or Haeg out there. That's the tendency in FCS football. Guys are sub-par talents. I saw more than enough on what Wentz was working with. It's what makes his accuracy and ball placement so impressive. Way to do your research to find out about Haeg. He could potentially have an earlier impact on a team than Wentz. The former Bison who's going to make an undoubted immediate impact is punter/kickoff specialist Ben LeCompte. Heard of him?
