Thanatos 2,847 Posted May 16, 2016 (edited) LMAO. You are seriously equating these two things? Get the fuck out Cherry. Saying a rookie QB is not going to go through his reads and progressions as fast as a future Hall of Famer is not rocket science. I never said people shouldn't judge, I said you give a FO who has done an excellent job drafting so far the benefit of the doubt over armchair scouts that think they know better. I'm not even claiming Paxton is going to be a bad QB. Apparently saying he's going to go through reads and progressions somewhat slowly in his first ever NFL game compared to Peyton fucking Manning is some sort of a controversial statement. And you claim I'm the homer. My love for the Panthers has got nothing on your hard-on for Paxton Lynch. Edited May 16, 2016 by Thanatos
DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted May 16, 2016 Well seeing as the guy has: 1. Never played against NFL speed, and played against just two ranked teams in college his final year 2. Coming from an offense that consisted of quick screens, predetermined passes 3. Has been described as "spacey", "out of it", "slow" by unnamed scouts (addito salis grano) 4. Struggled with short/intermediate accuracy at the college level 5. Widely described as a project by almost every "analyst" I see nothing wrong with Than's assumptions considering what we already know.

Of course Paxton isn't going through reads like Peyton Manning, nobody is. Paxton can throw farther than 10 yards down the field without the ball being 5 yards off target and wobbly as fuck. My hard-on for Paxton Lynch? He's in a perfect situation. An offense with the pieces to be dominant. A defense that has already proven they are the best in the league. He is going to fuck a lot of teams up. If he played for the Browns or some shit I'd look at him in a much more negative light as a rookie. Then give Denver the benefit of the doubt too. They just won a super bowl.
Thanatos 2,847 Posted May 17, 2016 I do give Denver the benefit of the doubt, which is why I would be shocked if John Elway starts Paxton opening night. I believe that Elway believes that Paxton is a potential QB of the future. I think that's all Elway thinks. That's all you really can think, unless you get the Messiah, Andrew Luck, coming out of college: This guy has the potential to be my QB. He's going to groom this guy and he's going to give him time. They have Mark Sanchez as a stop-gap, and Mark Sanchez this year is better than Peyton Manning last year. That defense took a hit by losing Trevathan and Jackson, but they should still be dominant. I don't think Denver wins the AFC this year, but I don't think Elway would be all that upset about that. He won his SB by going all-in in the short term. However last year turned out, it was his last shot at the short-term win now approach. Now he's playing the long game. He's trying to build a team that can contend year in and year out for the title, not just win what was a bad division. (Btw you wanna talk about the NFC South being bad for two years, the AFC West has been pretty bad for four- last year they started trending up.) And the long game begins with not throwing an under-developed QB to the wolves. He isn't going to "David Carr" Paxton Lynch.

Cherry 1,302 Posted July 20, 2016 Tampa and Denver as #1 seeds Tampa confused the fuck out of me man. I checked the schedule over and over wondering how the fuck Tampa got #1 seed. They'll probably go like 9-7 IRL.
Thanatos 2,847 Posted July 20, 2016 Omg what. Tampa 13-3? How in the blazes. Bucs will lose to Denver, Carolina, (both times), Seattle, Oakland, they won't sweep the Falcons- I haven't even finished and there's five more losses right there. 8-8 still sounds optimistic for me for the Bucs.
