According to Pro Football Talk, Staley has been tied to the Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, and New England Patriots. The five-time Pro Bowler is due $5.4 million and has a $4 million bonus this season. He will make $8.25 million next season. Staley, 32, was a first round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. Pro Football Talk reported that the "49ers are angling for a first-round pick from a contender" for Staley. The NFL trade deadline is at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1. 49ers coach Chip Kelly acted blindsided by the trade rumors when asked about it by reporters Monday. Follow Cam Inman ✔@CamInman "That's news to me. Nobody's had any discussions with me about Joe being traded. We need Joe here," Kelly told reporters, according to Bay Area News Group's Cam Inman. "I'm not in charge of the overall roster. I'll weigh in, but my point is we've never had a conversation about that," Kelly said. "We talk about everything on a daily basis but that's never come up," Kelly said, according to the Mercury News. ✔@spotrac Trading for OT Joe Staley New team cap hits: $3,457,720, $8.95M#49ers dead cap: $4,842,280 in 2016, $6.6M in 2017http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/joe-staley-3377/ … 3:10 PM - 24 Oct 2016 Staley has started every game of the season for the 49ers since 2011.
