WeaponX20 26 Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) Haven't scouted enough yet, but the Eagles need to take the BPA between WR/OL/DL/CB. If we take a OL it better be Feeny OG from Standford but i want a rb, Sporles is retiring at the end of 2017 Edited January 11, 2017 by WeaponX20
SteVo+ 3,702 Posted January 11, 2017 Taking a RB in the 1st round is stupid. I love D-Cook but you can get a guy almost as good in the middle rounds.

There is Zero guys who is a game changing backs in later rounds you dont pass on a guy like Cook or Fournttee because theres Runningbacks in late rounds

Cherry 1,302 Posted January 12, 2017 Knowing that the Rams likely won't pick until #37 I've erased quite a few names off the board by there. Huge needs are OL, WR, potentially TE, and likely S as well. Some big names that could be available. Cam Robinson (at guard pls), Dan Feeney if miracles are real, Forrest Lamp, Chad Wheeler, and maybe Damien Mama. Roderick Johnson would be good as well. I'm content with any of those guys. Mike Williams and Corey Davis are likely gone here. I'd like Chad Hansen or Dede Westbrook, but John Ross if he's still available would be a hell of a steal. OJ Howard is likely gone by then, but if David Njoku is available I'd jump on that in a heartbeat. At safety the big names are likely all off the board. Budda Baker could be around, but Hooker and Adams are long gone. I'd like Baker there if possible, and maybe even Peppers if he has a huge drop. Haven't done enough safety work but those are some big names I'm content with. If Sidney Jones falls past #10 I'd trade the fucking house to go get him. SteVo+ 3,702 Posted January 13, 2017 They weren't or aren't game changers. Just solid backs. How many of the last 10 Super Bowl winners had "game changers" at the RB position?

Bay 2,003 Posted January 13, 2017 You don't need a 'game changing' back lol. I'll take the value of a guy 4 rounds later who's doing the same thing pretty much as a guy 4th overall. Also, you aren't gonna find David Johnson's and Le'Veon Bells every draft. David Johnson was 3rd round too. So drafting a RB early is just plain retarded mostly.
Cherry 1,302 Posted January 13, 2017 A good running back should never be shafted by draft placement. Todd Gurley is literally the entire Rams offense. He put the entire group on his back and nearly dragged it to a thousand yard season. A running back that is truly special is worth every bit as high a pick as any other position (outside of specialists and the obvious QB if you need one.) That said, I wouldn't touch Cook in the first. Fournette on the other hand? I'd consider taking him top five. The special guys are worth taking early. 1
SteVo+ 3,702 Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) Seahawks - Marshwan Lynch Patriots - Legarette Blount LeGarrette Blount is NOT a "game-changing" back. Putting him in the same class as Lynch is laughable. But even if he were, I ask for the last 10 years, and all you can name is 2 runners? That proves my point right there. Don't give him the satisfaction of even hypothetically considering Blount as a game changer at RB.... That's insanity. Cherry 1,302 Posted January 13, 2017 Adrian Peterson went seventh in 2007, for example. One of the biggest game-changers of all-time. You know who went from rounds 3-7? Lorenzo Booker, Tony Hunt, Garrett Wolfe, Michael Bush, Antonio Pittman, Dwayne Wright, Kolby Smith, Thomas Clayton, Justise Hairston, DeShawn Wynn, Nate Ilaoa, Kenneth Darby, and Ahmad Bradshaw. Michael Bush and Ahmad Bradshaw were only two to be solid picks. 2 of 13. That's why you don't wait on guys because of position. Talent is talent.

Then you realize that Adrian Peterson is 1 - 4 in his career in the playoffs averaging a sterling 3.5 yards per carry and you're like... huh, maybe we can wait after all. Also note that in his single career playoff victory, he carried the ball 26 times for 63 yards. Edited January 13, 2017 by Favre4Ever
