Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) Is the NFL ready for Las Vegas? It better be. The Raiders will file relocation papers to move from Oakland to Las Vegas, according to sources familiar with their thinking. After a year of planning, debate, and bold action, after many years of a sub-par stadium option in Oakland, the Raiders have made a firm decision on their future. The stunning move, one that should be made official in the coming days, is expected to add a new city to the NFL's ever-changing landscape. The Raiders would need 24 votes from the league's owners to formerly make the move, a vote that will come this spring. The city of Oakland has made no progress to keep the team, sources say. It has not come up with a stadium proposal that league or independent sources believe is credible. At this point, it is only a matter of time before they officially leave. Vin+ 3,121 Posted January 19, 2017 Papers: filed Raiders have officially filed relocation paperwork for their proposed move to Las Vegas. This has been expected for quite some time, but now it is official. If 24-of-32 owners approve the move, the Raiders will hope to be in Las Vegas in time for the 2020 season. The Raiders hope to play in a $1.9 billion stadium financed in part by casino magnate Sheldon Adelson and Clark County hotel tax revenue. .AirMcNair. 1,232 Posted January 19, 2017 How many Raiders fans are going to go to Raiders games between now and 2020? Since the Raiders will (probably) be good, a ton I'd assume.

ATL_Predator+ 1,196 Posted February 1, 2017 After Aldeson backed out, Goldman Sachs was expected to just pick it up... but now it seems like they don't want it... so it looks like things are going to not go through any time soon.
FartWaffles 1,857 Posted March 7, 2017 http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/9464/mark-davis The Raiders have informed the league they have plugged the financing gap in their Las Vegas stadium plan. Per the Los Angeles Times' Sam Farmer, the plan is "very strong." The Raiders needed a new financing partner after casino magnate Sheldon Adelson backed out, and have evidently found one in Bank of America. The situation could come to a head in the coming months. FartWaffles 1,857 Posted March 27, 2017 http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/9464/mark-davis The NFL has approved the Raiders' relocation to Las Vegas. Shameful. The tally was 31-1, with only Dolphins owner Stephen Ross voting no. The NFL has taken to declaring "football is family," but what it really is is money. The Bay Area is one of the richest economic zones in all of human history, but Raiders owner Mark Davis is the poorest owner in the NFL. Since he apparently couldn't finance a stadium in Oakland and the local authorities wouldn't provide him corporate welfare, he's uprooted for Las Vegas, where a sports-desperate area and casino magnates will foot the bill. It's the NFL's third relocation in 15 months. Any time a team moves is a dark day for its league. Today is no different for the NFL. The Raiders will remain in Oakland for 2017 and supposedly 2018 with an eye toward arriving in Sin City in 2019. I wonder what the attendance will be like at home games for these next two seasons... Gives me flashbacks to this:

BJORN 679 Posted March 29, 2017 Mad respect to the Dolphins. Per: http://dailysnark.com/dolphins-owner-stephen-ross-teams-pay-stadiums-ask-publics-money/ The only owner to vote against the move? Stephen Ross of the Miami Dolphins. Stephen Ross explaining his reasoning for the nay vote, saying he believes Raiders owner Mark Davis did not expend all of his options to get a stadium deal done in Oakland. “I was more interested really in the fans in Oakland, and what a team means to the city,” Ross said. “That’s my primary concern. I think that’s who you take into consideration first. You have to exhaust everything to try and stay in a city.” Ross walked the walk by shelling out $500 million for the major renovation to his team’s Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. “If you own a team, you should have the deep pockets to deliver. You need some public money for infrastructure and things like that. But with the costs of stadiums today, our country can’t afford to put all of the money in those things.” Davis and the Raiders received an unprecedented $750 million in public funding to build a new stadium for the team in Las Vegas.
