Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) ESPN's Rob Demovsky reported Tuesday that he expects the team to release the Pro Bowl defender this offseason. "Sam Shields, the Packers' former No. 1 cornerback, will be done in Green Bay," Demovsky wrote. "The Packers will release Shields, who hasn't played since Week 1 because of a concussion that landed him on injured reserve." Shields' latest concussion was his second in nine months and the fourth known concussion of his career. He signed a four-year, $39 million contract in 2014. The Packers can save $9 million off of its 2017 salary cap if they cut the cornerback. Shields, 29, is expected in court on April 24 after being charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested a day after the Packers placed him on injured reserve. http://www.upi.com/Sports_News/NFL/2017/01/17/Green-Bay-Packers-expected-to-cut-Sam-Shields/5521484705587/ Unfortunate. I hope the guy just retires, because he could be a vegetable after the next hit. Even before his last concussion I read an interview with he and his wife talking about how scary it was and how he considered retirement two concussions ago. Also... The Packers needs a corner. Vin+ 3,121 Posted January 18, 2017 Wonder if we're gonna use Davon House now. If not, you guys can have him back.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted January 23, 2017 Wonder if we're gonna use Davon House now. If not, you guys can have him back. Oh come on! What a signing that was! Also, Sam Shields today says he still has more left in the tank. Right after saying he is STILL having headaches -- 5 months after his concussion.
Zack_of_Steel+ 3,014 Posted January 23, 2017 Man, it seems like yesterday he was breaking out in like, 2009?
Packers Dynasty 2010 116 Posted January 23, 2017 The 2010 Super Bowl run, it's a shame he has suffered so many concussions. The dude needs to retire, I can't see why he would think he still has a chance to play when hes suffering from concussion symptoms 5 months after the concussion. Though the dude was stupid enough to answer the door for the police while holding a blunt.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted February 9, 2017 (edited) Packers have cut Sam, he's pretty upset about it. We just released our obvious no. 1 cover corner. Scary, but it had to be done. Good guy who loved this team. Please retire Sam, for your own good. And if he doesn't NFL teams need to avoid him, again for his own good. https://www.instagram.com/p/BQQPsH1gs6z/ Edited February 9, 2017 by Favre4Ever
