Trump Regime thread.

If Pelosi is elected speaker this would be a perfect opportunity to walk away from the Democratic Party. What if Sanders, Ocassio-Cortez, Gabbard and some of the other leftist rising Stars either joined or formed a 3rd party using that moment to give themselves momentum and start grass roots fundraising and hitting the internet hard. People would volunteer. Idk man, if people would just listen to me we could get shit done. I don't get it haha

Everyone wants to be listened to. Nobody wants to listen. Me included. I'm really working hard on changing that. I invite you guys to try it as well.

We have been shoved into this divisive way of debating each other. If you don't agree with literally everything I say, our current political climate suggests that I should treat you as my enemy and actively work against every idea and thought that you have (even if I strongly agree with other ideas of yours). This is failure in a nutshell.

It obviously doesn't work. I want to try something different. I don't know everything, so I'd like to stop acting as if I do. My new goal is to see how your ideas and mine can work together instead of against one another.

"My way or the highway" sounds good on paper or in a song... though it is not a long-term recipe for success or enacting real change. There doesn't have to be a winner or loser of every debate. Both sides of a debate can win.

It's a helpful technique to start by saying, "Perhaps I am wrong. As I consider you an honest and fair person, I'd like you to at least consider the merits of my ideas. But first, what do you think?" Obviously anything remotely similar would do the same job.

And when they tell you what they think, it's not the best idea to immediately consider how this thought or idea works against yours. That's our default setting... again, doesn't work. See if it's possible in some way that this idea can actually make yours stronger or more effective somehow. Ask for time to truly consider what the person said. If you still disagree in the end, you'll be in a better position to do it respectfully.

If you do end up liking their idea, invite them to consider how yours can also make theirs better. This is how winning is done. An open-minded listener can usually disarm even the most aggressive "opponent." Showing someone that their ideas are at least useful in some way reduces the chances that they will relentlessly oppose you.

Now I can already tell what some of you might be thinking. This isn't going to work. It's asking too much of people. It's a radical change.

You might be right. I'd at least like the opportunity to find out. What do you say?

Yeah, I think being wrong or having a different opinion doesn't make the person you're debating a bad person. I do think there are times when you have to stand your ground and fight too though. It depends on the situation but I think we're kind of on the same wave as far as framing and presentation of arguments needing to be looked at. We have to keep in mind that the guy your arguing with on Twitter could be your uncle. If you have to resort to personal attacks your points aren't very good anyway.

#theresistance :yao: a hashtag is about all that stands for. Pelosi is going to be speaker after Trump's endorsement and probably off of Republican votes. What does that mean? Who is she going to answer to now as if all the big money donations weren't enough?

Democrats serve as opposition control. Medicare for all, every progressive agenda is cut off at the pass by democratic leadership before the Republicans even have a chance to vote against it.

Trump is going to have alllll kinds of casinos and hotels in Saudi Arabia and Israel when his time as president is done. Probably Russia too.

Oh for sure. His pockets are getting fat. It’s unfortunate but I can’t imagine a sitting president actually standing up to the Saudis. With all those barrels of oil sitting around and the price per barrel.... ya they’re gonna be our BFFs for a long time, which gives them clearance to do just about anything without repercussion.

Idk about that man, if the Saudi's forget their place the US will just do what it does and fund rebellions, do air strikes. Remember, Huessein was installed by the US. They'll just put someone in power that will do as they're told. They have the excuse already built in for a ground invasion if need be. They sponsor terrorism. They could even just destroy their country with sanctions. The Saudi's are doing as they're told by the CIA. Trump just won the right to line his pockets. If they overreach with threats to favor Russia or China instead like they've been hunting at, that will be our next war maybe even before Iran.

You mean... forget their place say.... like flying planes into buildings and killing thousands of Americans on American soil?

Problem is, I'm not convinced they weren't following orders. Look at what's happened as a result of that attack. Unlimited justification for war and we now live in a police/survelience state.

This in combination with the project northwoods stuff...man

EDIT: posted the wrong story lol but that's fucking insane. The FBI tried to get a guy to carry out a terror attack on US soil. Seriously, read that.

A dude who was interested in Al-Qaeda and building bombs for them bit off more than he could handle actually trying to carry out said bomb plot, got cold feet, and tried to back out and THEN was pushed by the FBI into continuing it. Let's not make this guy out to be some innocent dude.

He could have been selected as a candidate for this in prison. Have ypu read anything about the MKUltra. The Unibomber was one of the people they experimented on. I can see why you think I'm nuts. I'm connecting a lot of dots with not a lot of proof but I'm just going off what we know they've done and what they're willing/capable yo do. It's hard to imagine that people would do shit like this because we're normal but these people have a totally different world view than you and I. The fact is that they've already done this and we know based on historical fact that false flag "terror" attacks are a big part of the CIA's playbook.

Man I am getting so sick of remembering this mass murdering pieces of shit as nice guys. Bush I was undoubtedly smarter than his son the way he handled Iraq but he still lied to get us there and he still used fucking radioactive material and white phosphorus against those people AND he was CIA director and he was involved with all Reagan's shit. The man should be burning in hell.

Did you know you could buy crack cocaine on the doorstep of the white house? Well you couldn't, but more cops and more minorities in prison will solve that problem.

Right and back to the whole, "there's only one party bit."  Nixon, Reagan, and Bush had their work finished by Bill Clinton. George HW Bush has been the source of suffering for millions of people in the US and in other countries. Dude was a fucking scum bag. Who the fuck cares if he liked baseball?

So the sentencing memo comes out and it turns out that Stormy Daniels is more relevant, at least legally, than Russia lol

At least the trade war is (seemingly) cooling down a bit. China put in a MASSIVE order for soybeans. One of the best days for soybeans ever.. Still a long way to go but still nice to see.

Can someone explain to me how pulling out of Syria is bad? Lol Look, Trump is a fucking crook and an awful president, I get it but we don't need to criticize him for everything blindly.

Uh... none. I don't even care why it was done really. Trump only is doing it because it will help him in the polls... fine by me. Trump is getting paid off by the Syrian government to leave them alone.. fine by me. We don't belong there. No reason to stop at Syria. #BringOurTroopsHome

While I agree with the general sentiment you two have, a wholescale removal with little to no plan involved is idiotic. (And ofc, Trump declaring victory just because is also hilarious.) The last sane man in the White House agrees. Mattis gave his resignation over this and other things Trump has done recently. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-46640114

Sane or not, we don't need a warhawk Secretary of Defense.

Obama pulling troops out of Iraq was bad.
Trump pulling troops out of Syria is bad...
I am sure they will say Trump wanting troops out of Afghanistan is bad...

There's a pattern. Supporting perpetual war, death, and destruction seems like an odd stance to take. We've been there long enough. ISIS will never 100% eradicated and the only thing we are doing by invading their lands, blowing up buildings, and killing innocent people is that ISIS will be around for generations to come.
