BLUE 1,026 Posted January 21, 2017 Per Rotoworld.com: Colts fired GM Ryan Grigson. Grigson's status had been up in the air since the end of the season. The Colts are finally moving on after years of draft and free agency misses. Grigson's clashes with coach Chuck Pagano had also become a distraction over the last two-plus seasons. It's an overdue move from the Colts, who have missed the playoffs in consecutive years. President of Football Operations Jimmy Raye is a candidate to replace Grigson if Indy stays in-house. Owner Jim Irsay has been pushing Peyton Manning for a front office role. Jan 21 - 3:17 PM Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter
seanbrock 1,684 Posted January 22, 2017 Peyton is obviously a really smart guy but i'm not sure bringing him in as GM is the right move. Seems like a PR stunt and if not just Irsay trying to hire his buddy for a job. Undoing the damage Grigsby did to this team is a tall order and the Colts will need somebody with experience. Maybe it could help them lure Gruden out of retirement though idk.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted January 22, 2017 (edited) Mere minutes after the news broke that the Colts had fired the general manager, McAfee tweeted "Thank God." The tweet would have been a bit cryptic had he not followed it up with: "'Unwarranted Arrogance' just ran into a brick wall called karma." And after local radio personality Dan Dakich tweeted, "So funny … the Punter," McAfee responded with "'All Pro punter' please and thank you … also someone who has seen your best friend treat humans absolutely horrendously for 5 years." IndyStar Colts Insider Stephen Holder later added, "I am not taking a position here. Just passing along facts. Ryan Grigson was absolutely despised by many people in the building." McAfee wasn't alone. Reggie Wayne told the NFL Network "it was about time. Everybody saw it coming. They were just wondering when it was going to come. "There were a lot of little things that (Grigson) did here and there that were a little awkward. ... A lot of those guys (in the Colts locker room), they won't say anything, but Pat is Pat. He's going to speak his mind. And Pat hit it right on the head. He was a different cat. ... He walked around and tried to put fear in people, and that ain't the way you do it. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2017/01/21/dont-expect-pat-mcafee-shed-tear-ryan-grigson/96891756/ Edited January 22, 2017 by Favre4Ever
oochymp 2,393 Posted January 22, 2017 are we talking about this Pat McAfee? Pat McAfee of Indianapolis Colts arrested, charged with public intoxication Indianapolis suspended McAfee for one game on Wednesday, a little more than 12 hours after the 23-year-old was arrested for public intoxication. Police said McAfee took a pre-dawn swim in a city canal and told them "I am drunk" as he tried to explain why he was sopping wet in the Broad Ripple neighborhood, a trendy area known for its nightlife. Officers say the second-year player from West Virginia had a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 percent, nearly twice the legal limit for driving in Indiana. He was released from custody just before noon, about six hours after his arrest. According to the police report, McAfee was asked whether he was swimming in the canal and answered, "I am not sure." When he was asked why he was wet, McAfee responded, "It was raining." When he was asked where his shirt was, McAfee said, "In the water." And when he was asked how much he had to drink, McAfee said, "A lot 'cause I'm drunk." okay, just checking
