James Kratch of NJ Advance Media considers it a "very strong possibility" Victor Cruz is released this offseason.Cruz is owed $7.5 million in salary and bonuses, and the Giants can save all of that against the cap if they decide to move on. Cruz has hinted he is open to a pay cut similar to the one he accepted last offseason, but the Giants need an upgrade opposite Odell Beckham and likely will just decide to move on. Cruz recorded 39 catches for 586 yards and a touchdown in 15 games in 2016.Source: Newark Star-LedgerFeb 7 - 9:35 AM
With rise of young Sterling Shepard, and the headcase/talent that is OBJ... Cruz is the odd man out in the Giants WR trio. Giants will most likely be looking to save money, and he's just not the same player as he was years ago.
