Revis charged with four felonies

Darrelle Revis has been charged with four felonies for his role in a weekend fight in Pittsburgh.

That includes two counts of aggravated assault. Revis is accused of knocking two men unconscious. It's a serious matter, likely not the kind that will disappear. It's also an ill-timed off-field issue for a 31-year-old corner coming off a lousy year. Revis is guaranteed $6 million for 2017, but this greatly increases the chances he gets cut loose, which would create $9.3 million in cap space for the Jets.

Apparently he beat down two dudes that wouldn't stop recording him in public. I'm guessing the guys were being pricks and probably deserved it, but this doesn't look good for Revis...

Revis has been irrelevant ever since Brady & Co. got him a ring 2 years ago.

Darrelle Revis turned himself in to police Friday night after being charged with four felonies and a misdemeanor stemming a fight last weekend in Pittsburgh.

He was released on a non-monetary bond. Revis allegedly punched two men and took away one's cell phone after they refused to stop following him and stop recording him early Sunday morning. Police have charged Revis with two felony counts of aggravated assault, one felony count of robbery, one felony count of conspiracy, and a misdemeanor count of terroristic threats. His next court date is Thursday.

Robbery seems a bit much, but ok.

A lot of those charges won't stick. Revis has made a lot of money. His NFL career might be done but he won't even have to do time over this. Not with the lawyers he'll have. He can ride off into the sun set with a fat bank account, hall of fame resume and super bowl ring.

Jets released CB Darrelle Revis.

Signed to a "five-year, $70 million" contract in March 2015, Revis returned to New York as a conquering hero, and turned in a solid 2015. Things have been very Jets-y since, with Revis' play falling off a cliff last season before a February arrest on felony assault charges. The move creates $7.33 million in cap space, but leaves behind a whopping $8 million in dead money. With his legs seemingly toast, the former fiercest corner in the league might have to convert to safety in his age-32 season. That's if he doesn't retire.

All charges dismissed against defensive back Darrelle Revis

A judge has dismissed all charges against NFL defensive back Darrelle Revis stemming from a February altercation in Pittsburgh.
Revis had been charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault, one felony count each of robbery and conspiracy and a misdemeanor count of terroristic threats. A TMZ video showed two men unconscious after a brawl, but Revis' attorneys said their client was not the person who knocked out the men.
Revis appeared in municipal court Wednesday when the judge decided to dismiss the charges after hearing testimony from one of Revis' childhood friends. The friend, Rashawn Bolton, 31, told the judge he came to Revis' defense during an altercation and punched the men, knocking them out.
now that's a damn good friend
