Just to get the discussion going, I'll ask two burning questions, coincidentally both about RBs.

1) Do you factor positional value into these rankings, DMac? I'm talking about Fournette being #1 here, but if I'm an NFL GM, there's no way I take a running back 1st overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, no matter who he is. Tell me why I'm wrong.

2) Off-the-field issues aside, why do you have Mixon so high?

I think both in the case of Fournette and Mixon they are just that good.

No way in hell I'd take a RB first overall either though, and I don't recomend it, normally positional value only plays a role if it's the QB, but while I think there are some franchise level QBs that could, and probably should go in the first, I just don't think any of them are in the top 5 right now.

I think Mixon is incredibly talented, and character issues don't really play a big role on my board, it's pretty strictly based on on-field talent. Every time I watch him I get more and more impressed.

Fournette #1? I APPROVE.

Dmac, I thought you were not keen on Kaaya at all?

I'm practicing caution with Mahomes. In the sense that I want to put him even higher, in the first round, maybe even top of the 1st. Only reason I haven't is due to issues that I can't really quantify based off "tape".

I don't know what his I.Q. or ability to pick up coaching is like. He doesn't engage his lower body at all when he's throwing, and that offense he's coming from is spooky.

But beyond that, there isn't a better arm talent in this draft then him, and he's got a lot of traits you can't teach. Athleticism, size, instincts, etc.

I'm very split on Kaaya though, I think he's got the talent, but he's probably on his way down. tbh. I have him up there because right now because of talent, but the way he tumbles under pressure is also spooky.

Also IDK why I had Chad Kelly's trashy ass ranked in the top 200, guy sucks. I oppologize to everyone who had to see that.

I have to disagree almost completely with you Dmac. Mahomes will inevitably shoot up many people's draft boards because of his prototypical size, strong arm, and decent ability to extend plays but as far as being NFL ready he is really far off. His mechanics are atrocious, his accuracy in general is bad, and his pocket presence is non-existent. He is a project at best in my opinion.

Not sure where you are coming from on Kelly. Talent wise he is one of the best QBs in the draft, it is the injury and character concerns that hold him back.

IDK, if Paxton Lynch can go in round one, then I see no reason why Mahomes can't. Hack went in rd. 2 and he's allergic to throwing accurate passes. And he's more talented then either of those guys.

I agree that he's not NFL ready mechanically and because of the offense he's coming from, but as long as he's intelligent and has strong work ethic, I almost would take a risk on him before a lot of these other QBs in the draft this year. Mechanics I'd argue is one of the easiest parts of any QB to fix for a young QB as long as he's willing to pick it up.

And I'm sorry but I'm a hard pass on Kelly. Beyond having a decent arm, guy is total trash to me (I gotta stop calling players trash). I generally support gunslingers, guys who take too many risks, etc, was supporting Jameis heavy even after his interception ridden season, but with Kelly I just think he's legitimately a bad QB.
