Cherry 1,302 Posted May 15, 2018 (edited) The draft was only a few weeks ago, but I'm already riding high on senior tape and prepping for a long summer of video cutups. My goal is to have some kind of analysis on every starting senior at the FBS level (and no that doesn't include specialists). I'll be using this thread to field any 2019 draft questions, anything you guys want to ask me about from 2018 draft as we go through season, and simply documenting stuff for next year. Here are the links you should check out if you're interested. Cherry 1,302 Posted September 3, 2018 First report is done! Will need to wait till end of year for athletic testing and stats of course, but the tape grade is in. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XnKgztty-M31ZU-NJ2WFK5KVlo22CxUFXL5HDujVcbs/edit?usp=sharing
Cherry 1,302 Posted September 26, 2018 So I spent some time fucking around with ideas for draft presentation this year. Last year I introduced the cards and then used GIFs. The GIFs weren't fast enough + got copyright concerns, so fuck that. WELCOME TO 2019 FELLAS.

Cherry 1,302 Posted October 1, 2018 Since this is called the scouting notebook thread I figured I should post my actual intro scouting notebook for the year. Long ass read but basically recaps the summer and first four weeks of college action. https://www.whatsondraftnfl.com/articles/scouting-notebook-an-introduction-to-2019 Gonna be writing another one tomorrow night, although it'll be much shorter. Cherry 1,302 Posted October 9, 2018 (edited) Second report of the year is in with BYU quarterback Tanner Mangum. Gave him a 2.9 base grade which means his grade can fluctuate between 1.9 and 3.9 depending on the testing and red flags. Probably lands around a flat 3.0 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1b9UgQc3c13g9CUtxNlMWLFogeeKTz1A4aCcOQVR__04/edit?usp=sharing Edited October 9, 2018 by Cherry
Cherry 1,302 Posted November 13, 2018 Now up to 18 reports done already. Won't have final grades until April but it's a ballpark number for those guys. FartWaffles 1,857 Posted December 15, 2018 Hey, I've got a question for you Cherry. (or anyone else for that matter) Hypothetically if a team were to use a draft pick on Kyler Murray this year and he decides to go play baseball instead, would that team still retain his draft rights if he changed his mind and decided to play football say in 2020 or later? I bring it up mostly because of the Bo Jackson scenario with the Bucs. Not sure if the rules are the same and you go back into the draft pool if you don't sign with the team that drafts you in that year...
BwareDWare94 723 Posted December 15, 2018 (edited) Couple of FCS guys from the FCS conference (Missouri Valley Football Conference) that's better than some low-level FBS lolConferences: Taryn Christion, QB, South Dakota State. Will be entering the draft, I assume. Jabrill Cox, LB, North Dakota State. Just a sophomore, but already arguably the best defensive player at the FCS level. And just for the lols, you can tell these guys how bad Easton Stick, QB, North Dakota State, is as an NFL prospect despite all the love he's getting. From my understanding if you use a pick on Murray you retain his contract rights if he decided to return to football. I'm not quite sure with it though. Yeah Christion is a senior. I put a third rounder on him in the summer, but he was not impressive in that first half of the NDSU game. I'll likely be doing his full report within the next few weeks, so I'm real excited for that. Easton Stick full evaluation is complete. Came in with a 4.2 base grade (meaning he'll likely end up as a mid level backup grade). https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tI9fwDOBHzcH966kVOQRUsmzKQS6k__R9Y_YcowLoDY/edit?usp=sharing Edited December 17, 2018 by Cherry
