SteVo+ 3,702 Posted July 18, 2018 We've all heard various iterations of the stat about how many new playoff teams the NFL sees every year. The recent average was settling around 5, but last year we had 8 (!) new teams in the postseason. So, we'll make this simple. Take the 12 playoff teams from last year and eliminate half of them, replacing them with who else makes the playoffs, based on your predictions. Take divisions and wild cards into account. For record, here are the 12 from last season: I'll chime in shortly; want to see what you guys come up with first so I can steal your ideas.
Packers Dynasty 2010 116 Posted July 19, 2018 (edited) 6 that stay: 6 that get bounced: 6 new teams that will make the playoffs: This was tough, initially I had 5 out and 7 staying, it was between the Jags and Vikings as that final team. Decided to go with the Vikes staying because Cousins > Bortles. And you never know with the AFCS. Edited July 19, 2018 by Packers Dynasty 2010

SteVo+ 3,702 Posted July 27, 2018 I wanted bold predictions, but having 5 AFC teams and 7 NFC teams in the playoffs is a bit much.

BwareDWare94 723 Posted July 28, 2018 (edited) I'm calling for 4 new teams. I think if 6 happens it will be facilitated more by injuries than by 6 teams really getting worse. --IN, until somebody knocks them off the pedestal --IN, until somebody knocks them off the pedestal --IN, unless Blake really really sucks, which I don't see happening --OUT, because a QB transition takes time, replaced by --OUT, because they suck and shouldn't have been in last year, replaced by --OUT, because they suck and shouldn't have been in last year, replaced by --IN, best roster in football --IN, guaranteed if they stay healthy. Second best roster in football. Injuries could derail them, though. --IN, because I think they've finally turned a corner. --IN, because they're too good to miss. Could be derailed by explosive locker room, though. --OUT, because the NFC South is brutal, replaced by --IN, because of a new offense that could allow them to pull away in games. WindyCitySports 407 Posted August 6, 2018 I looked a Chicago Schedule PlayOffs is durable It would require a great deal of leadership from a very young Trubisky. I'm not writing that off, but we haven't seen it yet (nor did we expect to).

True but Chicago and Mitch played well last year with no offense talent... yall got weapons and the hard games yall do have are not on top of each other there spread out
ATL_Predator+ 1,196 Posted August 7, 2018 The Bears are a good team.... defensively speaking. The tough thing about them is... well their division. They are more than capable of hanging with anyone in that division due to familiarity but I wouldn't count on it. I have lots of questions about Trubisky. Offensively the answer for them is going through Howard and Cohen...that's arguably the best backfield. Tennessee is right there with that award too. Chicago is going to be competitive because of their D and backfield... but I'm not sold on Mitch.
