BJORN 679 Posted January 23, 2018 Some movies I am late on: Open Range - 7/10 .... Solid western movie The Hateful Eight - 6/10 .... Mixed bag, probably a bit too long and drawn out but a good cast and plot/setting. Gangs of New York - Daniel Day Lewis/10 .... He really carried this film big time, mixed on it overall though. Vin+ 3,121 Posted January 25, 2018 (edited) Blade Runner 2049. 8.75/10 Really liked it... ... until Harrison Ford showed up. Felt more like a mystery, and then he showed up and everything changed. It's been 35 years since the original, it's not really necessary to shift the movie to be all about him/Rachel... Ana de Armas is an attractive lady. OSUViking 505 Posted February 5, 2018 (edited) Watched Cloverfield again. Liked it way more the first time. Wouldn't say I necessarily like it now. There are a lot of things to grab your attention. Some of it doesn't make sense when you put it all together, but because there's something new about to come it's not a big deal. Well, since I already knew what happened, I realized the story doesn't match up with certain scenes that are built for suspense. It felt like it was going for an Event Horizon appeal at one point. ATL_Predator+ 1,196 Posted February 5, 2018 Den of Thieves. I wasn't expecting much but it was actually a half decent film that kept you thinking until the end. I enjoyed it and I don't like most new movies 7/

Sparty 110 Posted March 4, 2018 I'm not watching a single trailer for anything anymore, it'll be so much better going in fresh for everything. I wanna take the first IW trailer out of my mind.
OSUViking 505 Posted March 4, 2018 I'm gonna withhold enthusiasm for that @thanatos. Gonna see 3 billboards and black panther soon. Seeing annihilation today Annihilation was 8.5-9/10 for me. I can understand why some people wouldn't like it, but it's because it doesn't really just give you what the story is about. You have to think, and even then I still don't understand some parts. But it's very thought provoking in a good way. As in, I was satisfied with how things played out and I definitely think there is a very satisfying meaning that I just haven't figured out yet. Time will tell. The visuals were pretty great too. I liked Natalie Portman. It's not a typical horror movie at all (it was classified as sci-fi horror I believe). No jump scares, but it can be disturbing and the overall concept (annihilation) has an ominous presence throughout the film. Really, really recommend and will probably watch it again soon. Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted March 5, 2018 That would be Death Wish. Not surprising... lol. I haven't checked out reviews for Red Sparrow yet, but I think I am gonna see that Wednesday.
OSUViking 505 Posted March 5, 2018 Is that the one with super shitty reviews? It has good critical reviews, average moviegoer reviews. And I can understand why he average person wouldn't enjoy it, but it's a well-put together movie imo.
